"It was also announced that All-Star Battle Royale would be released on Vita, with cross play between it and the PS3 version."

Okay, seriously Sony? I know it is slightly different to SSB and i'll probably buy it anyway, but this is getting ridiculous. I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't have someone taking notes at last years Nintendo conference...

huh

Of course they're aware of what their competitors are doing, particularly in mass-media events. Why wouldn't they be? o.o

yeah, of course theres people from microsoft and sony attending the conference.
I missed the Sony and Konami ones, I might just watch those tonight after nintendo's conference to see what they are bringing to the table.
thank god ill be able to skip most move stuff, and maybe that wonderbook ive been eharing about if it is too boring ;P

I meant as in Sony getting their ideas straight from the conference. One of the main (and only) announcements for SSB4 was that it would have Wii U/3DS cross connection and PS3/Vita cross play sounds like a carbon copy of it.

Regretfully, i watched the sony conference. The worst part of the show was probably the new wonderbook, which is really pretty useless. The most crippling part of ar technology is that it can never really be competitive, and wonderbook certainly isn't helping. I mean, what is sony bringing to ar that's good? Certainly not a book, that won't work at all. If you have to rely on 3rd party games to revolutionize your technology (which by the way probably won't even happen,) is it even worth it to go there in the first place?

Yeah, that's my take on wonderbook. Feel free to agree, disagree, bring up points i missed since i watched it and then slept and am writing this while barely being awake, and the like.

wonderbook looks like a great idea and im sure will sell like hot cakes. not all games are directed for you.

Well, Sony's been doing this since the Vita came out. Last year they sold it as a key feature of the Vita, and if anything Nintendo is a little late to the punch considering the Wii U isn't even out yet.

Regardless, yesterday was fairly boring. Microsoft embarrassed themselves, EA's was fairly weak, and Sony's was a snoozefest (except for Beyond: Two Souls and The Last of Us.) Ubisoft managed to hold up the bulk of the quality yesterday, even if The Last of Us stole the show.

Oddly enough, I'm looking forward to Nintendo's conference more than anything. Interested in seeing exactly what Wii U will have to offer.

The Last of Us looks really awesome. But are we all going to pretend that escort missions aren't awful? And that this game is one long escort mission?

escort missions live and die by the AI of the partner and the Last of Us doesn't seem too bad in that regard...hard to tell what were cinematic set pieces and what was actual gameplay (what else would you expect from Naughty Dog) but that bit where she twats the guy in the face with a brick was pretty promising ^_^ and it's inevitable that you'll get separated from her at some point so it won't be all escort...

The partner even saved the protagonist in the demo no less!

Most escort missions in games tend to be bad because that isn't the focus of the game itself, thus the AI is rarely polished or playtested. I can't imagine this would be the same.

Why is there a day with no conferences? AHHH!

Yeah, Nintendo's official stream crashed at the beginning of Arkham City demonstration. Gamespot's stream didn't seem to though, but Gamespot's streaming (imo) is just so awful...

3DS NEWS!! 3DS NEWS!! 3DS NEWS!! 3DS NEWS!!

PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPERMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Well, Nintendo was boring. I mean, Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion are awesome but I REALLY wanted a new FPS Metroid for the Wii U that capitalized on the pro controller and had CoD-like online multiplayer. Nintendo needs to do that very badly.

Uhhhhhhhhhh.

Pikmin, Lego, and ZombiU were interesting enough, but damnit Nintendo. I expected a little more considering they have a new console coming out. I hope there's something big coming for the end of their presentation.
