Welcome to the second annual World Cup of Randbats! The field has been winnowed from 8 teams to 4, and it’s time for them to duke it out in the semifinals! Which team will rise to glory and be crowned Random Battles World Champions? It’s time to find out!

Standard Tournament Procedures
Like all other tournaments on Smogon, the World Cup of Randbats will follow the general rules and guidelines. Please read them carefully. Also note that replays are required.
What constitutes ghosting in a Random Battles game can be a particularly fine line, so before commenting in a WCoR game, always ask yourself: “Would my comment reveal information that hasn’t already been explicitly revealed in this battle?” Examples of ghosting include suggesting that an unexpectedly fast Pokemon might be holding a Choice Scarf, pointing out that a Zoroark’s disguised level proves it’s a Zoroark, etc.

China dispatched Europe+Africa, for the best or the worst. I don't think US West is a particularly better team than Africope, so despite the very tight match up I very, very slightly favor the past year winners
Gen 9 Random Battle Bo5: Separation vs EternalSnowman - Sep still being great, not much else to add
Gen 9 Random Battle Bo3: RainListener vs LordST - LST seems to have a solid grip over SV, but so does their opponent, should be interesting to watch
Gen 9 Random Battle Bo3: lza vs GO lucario - It's late and I'm very uninspired give me a break
Gen 8 Random Battle Bo5: llxwd vs R1C3M4N - aiwla doing great stuff
Gen 8 Random Battle Bo3: the dance of Alice vs Shadows4 - China getting one of their subs in! I have absolutely 0 knowledge about the dance of Alice; I'll assume that, since they didn't start yet, they might not be a key player in their roster, while shadows4 is quite experienced.
Gen 7 Random Battle Bo3: burstbean vs queso - I do like cheese very much
Gen 6 Random Battle Bo3: Quagmander vs shiloh - w will get an L
Gen 5 Random Battle Bo3: Raceding vs neycwang - yeah really I'm messing around ig; also Raceding is fairly strong, I'm sure they will bounce back from their ungodly series of last week.
Gen 4 Random Battle Bo3: ksicide vs Vaboh - I'm fairly hyped for this match up as I think both players did very well so far, could be anyone's game really
Gen 3 Random Battle Bo3: Indulge in dreams vs HeadsILoseTailsYouWin - same as above, except Anna hasn't been doing as great things in this wcor as in past RBTTs, so we'll see
Gen 2 Random Battle Bo3: Yuudachi0811 vs MrSoup - I do rank MrSoup very highly in my limited knowledge of gsc rands
Gen 1 Random Battle Bo3: cscl vs Sabelette - Sabelette is getting more and more established as a RBY player overall; I do think cscl plays well enough to get out of this though

Gen 9 Random Battle Bo5: Michielleus vs pokeblade101 - I think last week series was a bit of a rude shock for blade, but I do think they'll be able to bounce back strongly. Michielleus not to be underestimated though, clearly!
Gen 9 Random Battle Bo3: Fant'sy Beast vs ZDen - Fant'sy is getting stronger day after day so I think it's only fair to bold them rn as they're on a roll on the rands scene, but ZDen is having a really nice tour so far.
Gen 9 Random Battle Bo3: Jordy004 vs haxlolo - haxlolo didn't play much so far but they do play well, they might a bit too high of a cliff for jordy to climb
Gen 8 Random Battle Bo5: YveltalNL vs Lets In The Sun - Yveltal defeated the goat Boris; that's it really I'm still mad. Let's in the sun plays very well too, tbf
Gen 8 Random Battle Bo3: Wubben vs Enzonana. - I guess spamming in chat doesn't make one worse of a player
Gen 7 Random Battle Bo3: Ruft vs Tarre25 - A fairly equal match up in this format I think
Gen 6 Random Battle Bo3: TheFranklin vs ElectricityCat - I'll always favor arce9 despite the rough season, but Ecat is definitely a capable player lol
Gen 5 Random Battle Bo3: Ainzcrad vs Luchik - my friend luchi gets in da field to replace davidelbello. Luchi is strong everywhere, so I'm not particularly worried about this one; but Ainzcrad is definitely a challenge. Ultimately this is the highest variance format we have rn so whatever
Gen 4 Random Battle Bo3: Drud vs Mako - Mako is really strong
Gen 3 Random Battle Bo3: xGang vs Mashing - ... boldind against xGang is none of my business
Gen 2 Random Battle Bo3: livid washed vs ziloXX - Two very capable players for sure, livid will use his great coding knowledge to rig the series though, sorry ziloXX
Gen 1 Random Battle Bo3: Kipkluif vs nicomirra123 - nico is probably as strong as a gen1 player as luchi was so this is not a change that will affect the gen1 spot much for LATAM. Kipkluif, although not a mainer, has shown a solid understanding of the format so it's far from a decided series

Round 2 Predictions:

First and foremost, here's the scores of everyone who predicted round 1:

...as you can see, my model sucked at predicting individual matches. That being said, Tarrem was the only person to have a hit rate above 50%, so there were a lot of upset games in these playoffs.


Now for my bad model. Winrates have been updated with POff data, Key is in my first post:

Holy crap these are neck-in-neck. China vs US West results in a tie, and with the exception of Raceding vs neycwang, none of their games have more than a 35-65 odds.
BeNeLux vs LatAm is a bit swingier, but with how many upsets we had last time, I really couldn't say that I'm confident in my output.
