[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to its amazing defensive stats, good typing, and excellent ability in Regenerator, Toxapex is key to Water teams' success by serving as one of the type's best possible walls. With its Poison typing and bulk, Toxapex can wall threats to Water teams such as Aegislash, Tapu Bulu, and Dragapult, and it can use Regenerator to outlast teams by switching. Knock Off is Toxapex's main utility move, and it is crucial for removing many items such as Celesteela's Leftovers, Galarian Slowking's Assault Vest, Tornadus-T's Heavy-Duty Boots, and Dragapult's Dragon Fang. The combination of Knock Off + Black Sludge is crucial for taking down a huge threat in Dragon Dance Dragapult, with Knock Off letting Toxapex remove Dragapult's Dragon Fang before using Haze, and Black Sludge allowing Toxapex to outstall it. Poison Jab prevents Toxapex from being setup fodder against Tapu Bulu, Hatterene, and Tapu Fini and helps spread status against other Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Slowking. Haze is crucial to the set, as it prevents Toxapex from losing to the setup sweepers that it excels at checking, such as the aforementioned Dragapult as well as Zarude, Dragonite, and Volcarona. A physically defensive EV spread is used to allow Toxapex to wall the aforementioned physical attackers, which would otherwise be hard to switch into.

Toxapex pairs well with other defensive Pokemon to form defensive backbones for Water teams. Swampert and Gastrodon are two Pokemon that can switch into Electric-type attacks from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Zeraora, and Thundurus-T, while Toxapex can switch into Grass-type Pokemon such as Zarude and Tapu Bulu in return. Slowking is another great Pokemon that pairs well with Toxapex thanks to its resistance to Psychic and even better special bulk, which allow it to come in on attacks such as Tapu Lele's Psychic and Substitute Kyurem's Freeze-Dry. It also has Regenerator, just like Toxapex, allowing the Water user to outstall opposing defensive cores just by switching in and out between the two Pokemon. Volcanion is a good partner that beats Steel-types such as Celesteela, Melmetal, Klefki, and Ferrothorn for Toxapex, and it can Defog away the entry hazards Ferrothorn gets up for free against Toxapex. It also forms a good Fairy-breaking core with Toxapex by offensively threatening Pokemon such as Clefable with Sludge Bomb. Toxapex's defensive backbones pair will with many offensive Pokemon, but Urshifu-R in particular is a really good partner for Toxapex, as it can commonly take on Pokemon that punish Toxapex's passivity such as Ferrothorn, Arctozolt, Kyurem, Galarian Moltres, and Hydreigon.

Scald can be used on Toxapex to spread burns against Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela, as well as setup sweepers like Bisharp and Dragonite. Toxic Spikes can be used for types such as Fairy and Ice, in particular, that do not have a good absorber. Toxic directly punishes offensive threats such as Thundurus-T and Garchomp, which would otherwise take advantage of Toxapex's passivity. However, all of these moves require Toxapex to give up a crucial moveslot, and the aforementioned Pokemon and types can be taken care of by other teammates. Wacan Berry and Payapa Berry are both decent options: Wacan Berry allows Toxapex to stay in on Choice Specs Tapu Koko to retaliate with Poison Jab, and Payapa Berry means Toxapex can stay in on Tapu Lele and do the same, which is especially useful if the team lacks Slowking. Rocky Helmet is good for punishing attacks from U-turn users such as Urshifu-R, as well as putting Tapu Bulu into Poison Jab range after one of its attacks. Eject Button can be used on rain teams in order to generate momentum. Heavy-Duty Boots can be used to ignore Spikes against Fairy, letting Toxapex switch into the likes of Tapu Bulu more easily. However, Black Sludge is preferred over all these items to help Toxapex stand up to Pokemon such as Dragapult, and another item can only really be considered on teams that are not weak to it. If Toxapex does run another item or replaces Knock Off, Tapu Fini is a decent partner to serve as a good Dragapult answer.

Thanks to its amazing defensive stats coupled with a good typing and an excellent ability in Regenerator makes Toxapex a key to Water teams' success by serving as one of the best defensive walls the type has to offer. Especially with its secondary Poison typing providing a much needed Grass neutrality, Toxapex provides irreplaceable support through walling many Pokemon such as Aegislash, Tapu Bulu, Urshifu-R, and Dragapult, (Its kinda odd to point out the Poison-typing then list Aegis and Pult, which aren't walled because Pex is Poison. It would be nice to reword this / separate into two points perhaps?) many of which would otherwise be a huge threat to Water teams in general, and can use its ability in Regenerator to outlast teams by switching. Knock Off is Toxapex's main utility move, and is crucial for removing many items such as Celesteela's Leftovers, Galarian Slowking's Assault Vest, Tornadus-T's Heavy Duty Boots, and Dragapult's Dragon Fang. The combination of Knock Off + Black Sludge is crucial for taking down a huge threat in Dragon Dance Dragapult through both Knock Off removing its item and Black Sludge being able to outstall it. Poison Jab prevents Toxapex from being free setup fodder against Swords Dance Tapu Bulu, Calm Mind Hatterene, and Taunt Calm Mind Tapu Fini (the CM Fini set, well the one posted/in the works has taunt by default) and helps spread status against other Pokemon (are these switch-ins?) such as Swampert and Zapdos. Haze is crucial to the set as it prevents Toxapex from losing to the setup sweepers that it excels at checking such as the aforementioned Dragapult as well as Zarude, Azumarill, and Weavile (Idt Weavile or Azu is that much of a threat for Water teams, as the scarfer would always be able to delete it [as it resists Ice Shard anyway], maybe something like Volcarona or Dragonite would be nicer) A Physically Defensive spread is used to give Toxapex the ability to wall Pokemon such as Dragon Dance Dragapult, Zarude, Rillaboom (Idt Rilla is a good example, partly because its only on Grass, and Grass vs Water is kinda...), Tapu Bulu, and Galarian Zapdos which would otherwise be hard to switch into.

Toxapex pairs well with other defensive Pokemon by forming a defensive backbone in which Water teams can rely on. Swampert and Gastrodon are two Pokemon that can switch into Electric-type attacks from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Zeraora, and Thundurus-T, while Toxapex being able to switch into Grass-type Pokemon such as Zarude and Tapu Bulu in return. Slowking is another great Pokemon that pairs well with Toxapex thanks to its resistance to Psychic, neutrality giving it the ability to come in on attacks such as Tapu Lele's Psychic (also add that it deals with Subroost Kyu as well, which Pex can't do stuff against) as well as its Regenerator ability allowing the Water user to outstall opposing defensive cores just by switching in between the two Pokemon. Volcanion is a good partner that beats Steel-types such as Celesteela (Mel deserves a mention here too tbh, as it can take advantage of Pex with a Sub set) and Ferrothorn for Toxapex and noticeably can Defog away the Spikes it gets up for free against it. It also forms a good Fairy breaking core by offensively threatening Pokemon such as Clefable with Sludge Bomb. Tapu Fini is a decent partner for Toxapex if it is not running Black Sludge or Knock Off as it can function as a good Dragapult answer. Toxapex pairs well with many offensive Pokemon (it would be nice if there were examples here) due to its ability to function as a defensive backbone, but Urshifu-R in particular is a really good partner for Toxapex as it can commonly take on Pokemon that punishes Toxapex's passivity such as Ferrothorn, Arctozolt (It probably means its under hail, and Shifu can't outspeed it), Kyurem, Galarian Moltres, and Hydreigon.

Scald can be used on Toxapex in order to spread burns against Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela (add that it also deters Physical setup sweepers like Bisharp which currently doesn't care about this kind of Pex). Toxic Spikes can be used for types such as Fairy or Ice in particular that do not have a good absorber. Toxic helps Toxapex directly punish Pokemon such as Thundurus-T and Garchomp. However, all of these moves require Toxapex to give up a crucial slot, leaving it more weak to something while the aforementioned Pokemon and types can be taken care of by other teammates. Shuca Berry, Wacan Berry and Payapa Berry are all decent options to cover weaknesses Toxapex has. Shuca Berry helps against Pokemon like Garchomp and Excadrill (Shuca feels odd because yes you stay in and eat a hit, but you can't really hit them in return....unless you run the odd Ice Beam pex [which isn't in OO anyway] but that only covers Chomp then. Pex does not kill Chomp. Shuca on Water really isn't good then :<. I think Shuca is more of a Poison Pex set?) , Wacan Berry allows Toxapex to stay in on Choice Specs Tapu Koko, and Payapa Berry means Toxapex can stay in on Tapu Lele which is especially useful if the team lacks a Slowking. - "With its secondary Poison typing providing a much needed Grass neutrality and a Toxic absorbant, Toxapex can wall Pokemon such as Aegislash and Tapu Bulu, as well as other Pokemon such as Urshifu-R, and Dragapult thanks to its amazing bulk, many of which would otherwise be a huge threat to Water teams in general, and can use its ability in Regenerator to outlast teams by switching." -> "With its Poison typing and bulk, Toxapex can wall threats to Water teams such as Aegislash, Tapu Bulu, and Dragapult, and can use its ability in Regenerator to outlast teams by switching." (more of a GP-esque note, but I think this is more readable and less ambiguous for an introductory sentence)
- no need to mention the boosting moves on bulu/hatt/fini as you already say pjab prevents it from being setup fodder (which implies these three mons run setup)
- would remove pult's mention on haze as you already say knock off + sludge beats it, and that's its third mention on the paragraph
- "A Physically Defensive spread is used to give Toxapex the ability to wall the aforementioned physical attackers which would otherwise be hard to switch into"

- "... while Toxapex is able to switch"

==== oo ====

- think the description of the mons toxic cripples is kinda vague; say they are offensive mons/threats that could take advantage of its passivity otherwise
