Overview
--------------

Taken from Bulbapedia

Tangela is a very interesting defensive pokemon in NU because he has a good Sp.Atk and a very nice Defense stat equal to 115. He can easily counter physical pokemon such as Primape, Gorluk and Hawk. The main advantage that we can find with Tangela is that it is available for the use of the eviolite + his valuable talent: Regenerator.
Really nice movepool that permits him to handle many roles (Leech Seed, Sleep Powder, Knock Off, Giga Drain, Swords Dance, ...)
His main problem is his Sp.Def stat which is terribly low, he couldn't take 2HKO against any fire type in NU. His HP and speed stat are low aswell but we can fill his lack of speed under sun with his talent: Chlorophyll.

Staller Eviolite
--------------
name: Staller Eviolite
move 1: Leech Seed
move 2: Giga Drain
move 3: Sleep Power
move 4: Knock Off
ability: Regenerator
item: Eviolite
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
nature: Bold

Moves
########

Tangela truly living hinder the opponent by forcing him to switch. Real defensive monster, it can very easily hold physical sweeper as Swellow toxic orb, sawk choice band.
The use of Sabotage allows it to completely counter Swellow if it does not have Protect.
It may force the switch to the opponent with Leech Seed and Sleep Powder with Knock Off can be very useful at the remove items.
Giga Drain, combined with leech seed, allows it to hold a little longer before being switch. With a good stat SpA, Giga Drain can also totally counter Seismitoad.

Other options:

  • Synthesis allows it to hold various threats believer fit easily over (Swellow type).
  • Hidden Power [Fire] against plant types which disable it (and against Jynx sub).
  • Para Spore into a double status (like Amoongus).
  • Amnesia can be an option to maximize his low SpD

Set Details
########

Not much to say about this set detail, We must maximize his defense and especially its hp that are very low for it to take maximum physical hits so Bold nature is the best nature for eviolite set on Tangela.

Usage Tips
########

Tangela is a true defensive monster. It is mainly used to counter the switch on physical sweeper, if it takes 2 shots? Regenerator is okay for support
It takes very easily sawk choice band / scarf and holds a large majority of physical sweeper NU.
He is also really usefull with knock off to annoy the opponent by dropping their items.
Usually when you switch Tangela on a physical sweeper, you have the time to use Leech Seed and also probably Sleep Powder or a Giga Drain.

Team Options
########

  • Mantine deals weaknesses on the special plan.
  • Gorluk deals with Poison types and Fire, while Tangela sponge types Plant and Water.
  • Poliwrath besides water type has the advantage of taking well Knock Off, avoiding Tangela to lose his Eviolite.

Others Options
########

You can play a specs Tangela aswell with Regenerator talent. He has a decent SpA stat with spam leaf storm he can deal damages.
You can also play another Spec sweeper build with a LO Tangela in Sun with Chlorophyll.

Check and Counters
########

- Every weakness on SpD

If you meet a spec fire/ice/bug/fly sweeper, you should switch Tangela, he would not handle an attack.

- Alteration Statuts

Make sure to not being affected by an alteration statut such as Toxic on Tangela, he would lose its efficiency on field because usually, his role is to stay on it to force the opponent switch.

- Knock Off

Don't make him losing his Eviolite ! If he loses his item, he will be really weak again, even in physical defense because of his low HP stat.

Hey Lyse, I'd reccomend taking this back to WIP for a bit. At least until you have the formatting correct that is, if you need to find the Generation 6 Analysis Format click here after you do that I'll take a look at this.

Mont edit: you also need to have this in bullet point format until you get to QC 2/3
