Hello and welcome to the next...
Randbats Spotlight Ladder!
The Randbats Spotlight Ladder's purpose is simple: to give formats that would not otherwise have one a chance to be played on a wider scale. Each other month, four options will be given, and the winner after a week of voting will have its own ladder for a period of two months!
As usual, this Randbats Spotlight will feature a SMOGON TOURNAMENT related to it. More details about this tournament are included in this thread, so keep reading!
As a special treat, we've decided to include three of the second-place entries from previous Spotlight voting slates, alongside our community pick from the last tournament winner! Will one of these second chances grow to fruition? That's up to you!
YOU MAY VOTE FOR MULTIPLE FORMATS!
What are all these mods?
Partners in Crime: This is a doubles-based metagame with the twist that you share your ability and moves with your active partner. This means that you are able to use any of the moves available to both of your active Pokemon, i.e. up to 8 moves will appear on the move select screen. Additionally, this means both of your active Pokemon will have each others' ability in addition to their own.
"VGC": This isn't actually VGC, but it's the closest Randbats will get! It's Gen 9 Random Doubles where you have to choose 4 of your 6 Pokemon to use in battle, like how VGC does it! Levels will still be balanced Randbats-style, though, and the sets will still be Randbats sets.
Scalemons: All Pokemon will have their base stats (except HP) scaled up or down at the same ratio until the Pokemon reaches as close to 600 BST as possible. Watch out for Pikachu!
!IMPORTANT! Tournament information
This month's Randbats Spotlight is going to include a SMOGON TOURNAMENT. The format of this tournament will be the format chosen as the Randbats Spotlight. The length of this tournament will be 2 months, which will determine the pace of the tournament. The prize of the tournament will be 1 month of RPW (Room Prize Winner) and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!
How do I sign up?
Please do not sign up in this thread, a new thread will be open for the tournament itself.
Rules and additional details:
- When selecting a format to vote on as the winner, you will have a wide array of options, from modded variants of ladders that already exist, to formats that are challenge-only, to formats that don't exist at all! However, these are subject to coding limitations, and formats that have recently been a bimonthly spotlight cannot be voted on again for several months.
- This thread is open for discussion. Stay cordial, follow all site rules.
- Only votes in the poll above will count. Please do not type your vote out in a reply.
