With a fantastic offensive typing, great Attack, serviceable Speed, and access to Dragon Dance, Gouging Fire can don Magic Guard to become one of the scariest wallbreakers in the tier with a powerful, recoilless Flare Blitz. Morning Sun allows Gouging Fire reliable recovery, letting it better leverage its solid bulk to get Dragon Dance boosts, while Earthquake provides a powerful hit against Well-Baked Body Gholdengo and threatens opposing Gouging Fire without Outrage's downsides. With a Jolly nature, Gouging Fire outspeeds Modest Deoxys-S after a Dragon Dance. Gouging Fire is fantastic at pressuring physical walls such as Corviknight, Pecharunt, and Deoxys-D, making fast cleaners like Roaring Moon, Iron Boulder, and Chien-Pao excellent teammates, able to clean up these weakened walls. Gouging Fire can struggle to break through physically bulky Ground-types such as Great Tusk and Ursaluna, making teammates like Walking Wake, Enamorus-T, and offensive Manaphy worth considering. Gouging Fire's mediocre Speed before a boost means it pairs excellently with slow pivots such as Corviknight and Swampert, which are able to take a hit from threats like Iron Boulder and Walking Wake that otherwise OHKO it and switch Gouging Fire in undamaged, giving it more opportunities to set up with Dragon Dance.

With a fantastic offensive type combination, excellent Attack with serviceable Speed, and access to Dragon Dance, Gouging Fire can don Magic Guard to become one of the scariest wallbreakers in the tier with powerful recoilless Flare Blitz. Earthquake provides a powerful hit against Well-Baked Body Gholdengo and threatens opposing Gouging Fire without locking into Outrage, while Morning Sun allows Gouging Fire reliable recovery, letting it better leverage its solid bulk to get Dragon Dance boosts adjust as necessary according to how you change the set (if at all). With a Jolly nature, Gouging Fire outspeeds Modest even if it's not that common its still worth mentioning imo, up to you though Deoxys-S after a Dragon Dance. Gouging Fire is fantastic at pressuring physical walls such as Corviknight, Pecharunt, and Great Tusk Scream Tail, making fast cleaners like Roaring Moon, Iron Boulder, and Chien-Pao excellent teammates, able to clean up these weakened walls. Gouging Fire can struggle to break common physical Unaware walls like Deoxys-D, Mandibuzz, and Scream Tail, making powerful special attackers such as Walking Wake, Deoxys-S, and Iron Moth fantastic teammates honestly, it doesn't really struggle with unaware users. with morning sun, it can straight up 1v (mandibuzz by just not clicking flare blitz)1 all of these, not to mention that they'll often be forced to switch in on flare blitz, favoring gouging even more. it only really fears twave from deo-d. i'd instead say that it can struggle vs bulky ground-types like tusk. Gouging Fire's average speed also means it pairs excellently with slow pivots such as Corviknight and Swampert, who are able to take a hit and switch Gouging Fire in undamaged, giving it more opportunities to set up with Dragon Dance. Gouging Fire has mediocre Speed before a boost and is outsped and OHKOed by common threats such as Iron Boulder, Walking Wake, and Roaring Moon, making teammates that can handle these threats like Deoxys-D Corviknight i wouldn't really say deo-d is good at dealing with boulder, Swampert, and Great Tusk fantastic options.

With a fantastic offensive type combination, excellent Attack with serviceable Speed 115 isn't "excellent" IMO but thats a Moot point, and access to Dragon Dance, Gouging Fire can don Magic Guard to become one of the scariest wallbreakers in the tier with powerful recoilless Flare Blitz. Morning Sun allows Gouging Fire reliable recovery, letting it better leverage its solid bulk to get Dragon Dance boosts, while Earthquake provides a powerful hit against Well-Baked Body Gholdengo and threatens opposing Gouging Fire without locking into Outrage. The last sentence seems kinda redundant, especially with the one before in regards to putting stuff in safely, perhaps you can put the two together.
