Barbaracle @ W/e resist berry/White herb
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Razor Shell
- Return/Earthquake
- Cross Chop
- Shell Smash

Some players tend to think throwing ferroseed on a team makes you less weak to barb, but then they find this and you win :3 Hits a bunch of things neutrally, making it an option over return if you don't care about misses (which gives you a free slot for eq to hit garb or sub because it beats weezing without getting burnt), you need adamant to KO seed at +2 with rocks up assuming it's max hp max def (which is a bad spread for it imo but that's what teambuilder suggests and most players use so go for ada :o)

+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Barbaracle Cross Chop vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Ferroseed: 272-322 (93.1 - 110.2%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
- Waterfall / Aqua Jet

252 Atk Life Orb Kabutops Superpower vs. 252 HP / 148+ Def Eviolite Ferroseed: 177-208 (60.6 - 71.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
-1 252 Atk Life Orb Kabutops Superpower vs. 252 HP / 148+ Def Eviolite Ferroseed: 117-140 (40 - 47.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

you do 60 percent then 40 percent, Ferroseed always comes in trying to punish spins but running this gets a 2HKO on that spread the nature and last slot are personal preference. Superpower also hits Cradilly which is something else that tends to switch into Kabutops as well as normal-types harder. Yeah what else am I suppose to put.

Probopass @ Air Balloon
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power

Probopass is a nice lure to ferroseed, it traps Ferroseed with Magnet Pull and keeps it from being a nuisance for the rest of the battle. HP Fire is usually a 2HKO even after leech seed damage.

252+ SpA Probopass Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Ferroseed: 152-180 (52 - 61.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Ferroseed Gyro Ball (68 BP) vs. 172 HP / 0 Def Probopass: 31-37 (10.1 - 12.1%) -- possible 9HKO <- lol

Archeops
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Acrobatics
- Stone Edge / Earthquake
- Heat Wave
- Roost / Earthquake

Given that that Ferroseed is not 2HKOed by Acrobatics from full (or close to full) HP, it is generally a pretty safe switch in as it can KO Archeops with Gyro Ball after it has taken very slight prior damage. However, on teams which are weak to Ferroseed, running Heat Wave on Archeops over Earth Power serves as a good lure since Heat Wave + Acrobatics will always KO Ferroseed.

4 SpA Archeops Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Eviolite Ferroseed: 204-240 (69.8 - 82.1%)

Missing sucks tho.

Mismagius @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Power Gem
- Energy Ball

bulky Zard is normally a pretty good switch in to regular wisphex Mismagius. this set lures and OHKOs zard, giving other teammates like Steelix some breathing room to do some work later on. its a sick lure that Jarii showed me but ended up never using it :(

Steelix @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Usually, Zard would attempt to cripple Steelix with the Will-O-Wisp then setup on it, but this set can OHKO it quite easily on the switch. I prefer investing in attack on this set to hit Mantine and Xatu, which Stone Edge also targets, a bit harder. Overall, one of my favourite lures and definitely quite splashable in this metagame :)

Sceptile with rock slide

Hariyama @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Knock Off

A lot of the time people feel safe switching in Charizard on Hariyama's usual set but, with Stone Edge, it auto-OHKOs the target. And stone edge can be useful for other bulky flying types and still hits some of the usual targets that earthquake does (just gotta worry about poison types a bit more, Weezing is always a problem though haha).

Celesteela is Life

Combusken @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Protect
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Rock

Charizard resists both of Combusken's STABs, and with the invested bulk, makes a good switchin for it outside of Stealth Rock. Basically, this Busken lures in Zard, and smacks him with HP Rock, OHKOing him after some prior damage.

Banned deucer.

Lilligant (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpD / 30 Spe
- Sleep Powder
- Quiver Dance
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Rock]

-Dont forget this cute mon! Now that sceptile is in tier (not for long), i havent seen Lilligant in a while. It becomes extremely threatening if opponent doesnt have a check/Counter and can 6-0es unprepared teams after 1 boost.
It definitely needs some support now, but I think it will become much more common if Sceptile leaves.
Zard checks HP fire/Ice lilligant, but HP rock easily Ohkoes it, its also a nice fire/flying lure in general.

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dazzling Gleam
- Fire Blast
- Surf

If it hasn't taken any hits for you to be able to scout the damage, most of the time bulky SD Charizard is a good switch into Mega Audino if you see Calm Mind, as it is a fair assumption to think that it is the defensive Calm Mind variant which outright loses to Charizard. However, offensive Mega Audino functions as a good lure for this Charizard set as it can severely dent it with a boosted Surf.

+1 252+ SpA Mega Audino Surf vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Charizard: 268-316 (74.6 - 88%)

0 Atk Charizard Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Audino: 84-100 (24.2 - 28.8%)

+2 0 Atk Charizard Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Audino: 168-198 (48.4 - 57%)

Tangela @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 236 HP / 48 Def / 224 SpA
Modest Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Ancientpower
- Sleep Powder
- Hidden Power Fire

Charizard tends to get lured in by most bulky grasses, such as Gourgeist-XL, Tangela, Torterra, and Vileplume. That's when you bop it down with Ancientpower, which OHKO's effortlessly after rocks, or has a decent chance without rocks.

224+ SpA Tangela Ancient Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard: 272-320 (91.5 - 107.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Charizard Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 48 Def Eviolite Tangela: 152-182 (45.5 - 54.4%) -- 53.5% chance to 2HKO

Gourgeist-Super @ Choice Band
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Shadow Sneak
- Explosion
- Rock Slide / Trick

CB Gourg is a really cool set in general but also works as a neat lure for Zard. Bulky Zard is incredibly safe to switch in on any typical Defensive Gourgeist as it can't really punish zard, just annoy it with Leech Seed. CB Gourg however can easily OHKO Charizard on the switch in with either Rock Slide or Explosion, clearing the way for potential partners.

252+ Atk Choice Band Gourgeist-Super Rock Slide vs. 248 HP / 4 Def Charizard: 548-648 (152.6 - 180.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Gourgeist-Super Explosion vs. 248 HP / 4 Def Charizard: 456-537 (127 - 149.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Mesprit @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Signal Beam
- Trick
- Psychic
- Ice Beam

I saw Can use this in SPL and tried it out on a few teams to weaken Lix and Skunk, both mons usually easy switchins to Mespirit, and it put it work. You can also escape unscathed if you win the 50/50s with Pursuit/Sucker Punch.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Mesprit Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 132 SpD Skuntank: 172-203 (49.5 - 58.5%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO

Mismagius @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power Ground

While most Mismagius are wearing signs above their head reading, "Skuntank are welcome here," this one sure isn't. All you have to do is click that Nasty Plot, and with rocks up you can click HP Ground for a 50% chance at an OHKO. This is not crazy innovative, but it does get the job done.

+2 252 SpA Mismagius Hidden Power Ground vs. 0 HP / 132 SpD Skuntank: 280-330 (80.6 - 95.1%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Rotom @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
Specs Rotom does a good job of luring Skuntank since most people will send in their Skuntank on what they assume is an easy way of trapping rotom. Specs Thunder has a 25% chance to ohko after rocks damage and even the damage from volt switch will catch most pursuit sets off guard. Modest has much better chances to ohko and makes rotom better in this specific scenario but I prefer the speed for better overall usefulness. Thunder is a pretty risky move compared to the more tame wisp hex sets Rotom commonly runs but being able to outright remove one of rotom's biggest counters during a match is well worth the risk imo. Worst case scenario is you miss thunder and your opponent still has to win another 50/50 with pursuit vs. sucker punch mindgames so even then it isn't completely hopeless for our ghostly friend.

Musharna @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonlight
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ground]

HP Ground Mushy is one of the easiest ways to lure in a Skuntank, netting a 2HKO at +1. HP Ground even lets Mushy take on Steelix better, further increasing its utility.

+1 0 SpA Musharna Hidden Power Ground vs. 0 HP / 132 SpD Skuntank: 170-200 (48.9 - 57.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Shiftry @ Life Orb
Ability: Cholorphyll
EVs: 252 Atk, 4 Spd, 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
-Knock Off
-Sucker Punch
-Leaf Storm
-Explosion

Shiftry is normally hard-walled by Skuntank because it resits both of its stabs. Explosion is a clean OHKO, which may surprise a skuntank who is thinking they earned a free defog.

252+ Atk Life Orb Shiftry Explosion vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 448-529 (129.1 - 152.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
232+ Atk Skuntank Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Shiftry: 84-100 (26.1 - 31.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

Jynx (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Lovely Kiss
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Counter

Didn't come up with this set myself, I originally saw Cased use it as a lead in SPL. Pretty self explanatory but still really cool, essentially Skunk thinks Jynx is a typical Pursuit target, but instead of switching the Jynx user just just clicks Counter on the Pursuit and watches the Skunk drop.

Just wanted to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of some of these lures, when this thread first went up I was expecting a ton of "hidden power super effective on a mon that loses to the subject" posts. Not to say that those aren't good lures and can't easily fit on a team, but it often leads to a boring thread and lackluster research (see magneton week of the old thread lol, anybody else remember hp ground ferroseed???). Keep up the good work guys!

With that in mind here's my uneventful rather boring lure:

Mesprit @ Apicot Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Natural Gift
- U-turn
- Zen Headbutt
- Stealth Rock

iplaytennislol and I experiemented with this Mesprit set a little bit back in the day as a partner for Barrier+Calm Mind Musharna and it never really got any use as far as I remember. This can be really difficult to use as you basically get one shot to use natural gift and you'd prefer to hit Skunk on the switch so that you don't get suckered into the range that consumes your berry D:

I don't think this lures super effective or anything but its kinda cool and natural gift hype has died down a lot since XY.

dont hate on the GOAT hp ground ferroseed Kiyo

Gourgeist-Super @ Choice Band
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Shadow Sneak
- Explosion
- Rock Slide / Trick

you click boom and it dies!
for an actual explanation, supergeist is usually a pretty free switch for skunk b/c of taunt and the lum berry to chew the wisp. with this set, you can just boom on it and open up the door for dark / psychic / ghost mons to roam free in and out of battle.

252+ Atk Choice Band Gourgeist-Super Explosion vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 517-609 (148.9 - 175.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 SpD
- Psychic
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Signal Beam

-I remember using this pokemon so much in pre-zard meta and I had a really fun time with it,now its kinda time to let go since theres no more peliper/yama/steelix cores and Beheeyem doesnt perform best vs offensive teams :/

Anyway, one of my favourite parts of using Beheeyem was bopping Skuntank so hard they wish they never switched into this, as HP Ground has high chance to OHKO it lol (It always ohkoes after rocks), if anyone asks me why I run Psychic/Psyshosk both on moveset its cuz ive been using this for so long and its better than having Tbolt/Trick in the long run.

Calcs:
252+ SpA Choice Specs Analytic Beheeyem Hidden Power Ground vs. 0 HP / 132 SpD Skuntank: 336-396 (96.8 - 114.1%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Analytic Beheeyem Hidden Power Ground vs. 0 HP / 132 SpD Skuntank: 336-396 (96.8 - 114.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Basically the stallbreaker mismag set with two new moves. Skuntank comes in, and you trap it with mean look. Colbur insures you live a dark attack so you can click d-bond and immediately eliminate skunk from the game. Hex and will-o ensure that mismag has some sort of offensive presence.
