Kommo-o makes a viable pick as a special sweeper due to the combination of its good bulk and access to a sound-based setup move in Clangorous Soul, which boosts all of its stats by one stage; this combined with Throat Spray takes Kommo-o's Special attack to threatening levels. A Timid nature is important for Kommo-o in order for it to outspeed Zacian-C with a +1 boost from Clangorous Soul. Clanging Scales is able to OHKO most offensive Pokemon at +2 and, most importantly, deal with Eternatus, but be careful with the use of Clanging Scales, as it will activate Throat Spray if Kommo-o has not yet set up with Clangorous Soul, leading it to being wasted. Flamethrower enables Kommo-o to break past common Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Corviknight, Excadrill, and Aegislash. Flash Cannon is used to deal with Fairy-types that would otherwise prevent its sweep such as Hatterene and Clefable. Kommo-o takes advantage of Dynamaxing as a setup sweeper, increasing its sweeping potential. A +2 Max Wyrmwind enables Kommo-o to OHKO bulkier Pokemon that it otherwise would not be able to, such as Mew, Gothitelle, and Zamazenta. Max Steelspike is able to increase its physical bulk further and cancel out the Defense drops from Clanging Scales while also being able to OHKO Clefable and 2HKO Tyranitar. Soundproof is the preferred ability to help prevent Imposter Ditto from revenge killing Kommo-o with Clanging Scales.

Kommo-o struggles with faster offensive Pokemon and revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan and Zacian-C, which would otherwise prevent a sweep or force it to switch out; Pokemon such as Pyukumuku are able to deal with these aforementioned threats. Tyranitar and Excadrill also make good partners that support Kommo-o. Tyranitar provides a strong check to Eternatus and deals with Gothitelle, while Sand Rush Excadrill is able to deal with faster Pokemon such as Zacian-C and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan. In return, Kommo-o is able to break through Corviknight, which both of these struggle to beat. Gigantamax Lapras is able to provide Aurora Veil through Dynamaxing, while Grimmsnarl can provide dual screens support, both of which make it easier for Kommo-o to set up.

soundproof > overcoat. ditto is a more pressing issue to the set than sand being everywhere and makes it somewhat unique.

i'd be a bit wary calling this "fantastic" when usage doesn't support it. that would be eternatus/hat territory.
