Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Hex
- Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor
- Thunder Wave

With a great typing and good bulk all around, Giratina-O is one of the most common Defoggers in balanced teams, able to switch into and Defog against Primal Groudon, the most prominent Stealth Rock setter in the tier. Its dual STAB in Hex and Dragon Pulse allow it to hit a majority of the tier at least neutrally and, combined with its strong offenses, allows it to pose a decent offensive threat. Thunder Wave cripples common checks such as support Arceus formes and Yveltal and Choice Scarf Xerneas in particular on the switch, making it easier for teammates to finish them later. Giratina-O, however, is weak to the common Ghost-, Dark-, and Fairy-types in the metagame and as such appreciates partners such as Arceus-Fairy and Xerneas that pivot into Marshadow, Yveltal, and Arceus-Dark and Primal Groudon, Magearna, and Mega Scizor that beat Fairy-types. Giratina-O also struggles with residual damage, especially from status, so cleric support from Aromatherapy Choice Scarf Xerneas and Heal Bell Magearna can alleviate this.

Remove Arceus-Ground - Calm Mind variants are also common and any Arceus-Ground that isn't SD, Giratina-O has an inferior matchup. Instead put more emphasis on how Giratina-O is one of the safest switch-in to Primal Groudon. Like I told you in Discord, Giratina-O is a solid check to Primal Groudon and it is at best a blanket check to other threats it is seemingly able to cover. You kinda mention this later on, but re-organize a bit. Facebook Spotlight aims to point out readers about why is the Pokemon in question is relevant and is commonly accounted for in teambuilding.

This means you might want to remove "This move does A and this move does B" and focus more on what the set can do. Make sure to mention that Thunder Wave helps Giratina cripple threats Yveltal and Arceus formes because they become easier to handle once their Speed advantage has been removed.

When it comes to teammates, mention what threats are specifically handled by teammates. Xerneas checks Marshadow and Dark-types and provides cleric support, Magearna switches into Toxic and also checks Dark-types and provides cleric support. Along with Yveltal, mention Ho-Oh and Mega Salamence that appreciate Defog support. It would be ideal to go over how they can individually benefit and benefit from Giratina-O, but that will probably make this go past 1000 character limit.

Nonetheless, this is nicely shaped for the first-time-ever spotlight. Notify me when you implement these and I'll stamp after taking a second look.

With a great dual typing and good bulk all around, Giratina-Origin is one of commonly found Defog users in balanced teams. It notably can switch into and Defog against Primal Groupon, the most prominent rocker in the tier. Its dual STAB in Hex and Dragon Pulse allow it to hit the vast majority of the tier at least neutrally (mention something about offensive presence here). Thunder Wave cripples common checks to it on the switch, such as support Arceus forms, (specify that Xerneas and Yveltal are offensive checks) Scarf Xerneas & Yveltal, making it easier for a teammate to take care of them later. It also powers up Hex, which makes it harder for those checks to switch in again. (GP thing but don't separate paragraphs)
Giratina-Origin, however, is weak to the common Ghost and Dark types in the meta (examples), and as such appreciates partners that can cover them. Arceus-Fairy, Magearna & Yveltal can pivot into the common Marshadow (Magearna isn't a Marshadow answer and Yveltal is hella shaky as a Marshadow switch-in and it speficially has to be a defensive variant and SR shouldn't be on field. Instead add Xerneas), Yveltal and Arceus-Dark (this thing gets popped by CC first lol) that threaten it. (Add a sentence about answer to Fairy-types. Primal Groudon, Magearna, and some Steel-types can work) Giratina-O also struggles with residual damage, in particular status - cleric support in Scarf Xerneas’s Aromatherapy and Magearna’s Heal Bell can help alleviate this.

Before sending this to GP make sure to address the comments give a look at the GP grammar standards. Like other C&C works, FB spotlights are posted here for GPers to stop by. Good work for your first time FB spotlight and I welcome you to the forum on everyone else's behalf.
