[OVERVIEW]

* Gholdengo is one of Series 1's most threatening special attackers, with a base 133 Special Attack stat and exclusive access to Make It Rain.

* Good as Gold gives Gholdengo immunities to some of the metagame's most disruptive support moves, including Amoonguss's Spore and Grimmsnarl's Parting Shot.

* Gholdengo is lacking in Speed, making Tailwind users such as Murkrow, Hydreigon, and Talonflame great partners. Murkrow, in particular, is a great partner thanks to Haze undoing Special Attack drops from Make It Rain.

* Gholdengo often struggles against faster, hard-hitting Pokemon such as Garchomp and Hydreigon, making partners such as Sylveon valuable.

[SET]
name: Choiced Attacker
move 1: Make It Rain
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Dazzling Gleam
move 4: Thunderbolt / Trick
item: Choice Specs / Choice Scarf
ability: Good as Gold
nature: Modest / Timid
tera type: Steel
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Make It Rain and Shadow Ball let Gholdengo take out a wide array of common Pokemon such as Armarouge, Annihilape and Sylveon.

* Dazzling Gleam allows Gholdengo to fight back against the likes of Hydreigon.

* Thunderbolt threatens to OHKO the likes of Gyarados and Palafin when equipped with Choice Specs. Trick is a good alternative option to lock Pokemon into undesirable moves, such as Indeedee-F into Trick Room.

* Choice Specs makes Gholdengo one of the most threatening special attackers in the entire metagame. Choice Scarf lets Gholdengo outspeed Meowscarada, Garchomp, and Dragapult with a Timid nature, which it would otherwise need additional speed control to beat.

* Steel is Gholdengo's preferred Tera type, boosting the damage output of Make It Rain even further and letting it OHKO Garchomp with ease.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Make It Rain
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Nasty Plot
move 4: Protect
item: Life Orb / Metal Coat / Air Balloon
ability: Good as Gold
nature: Modest
tera type: Steel / Flying
evs: 212 HP / 252 SpA / 44 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Nasty Plot allows Gholdengo to secure OHKOs on just about everything weak to it, notably OHKOing specially defensive Amoonguss when Choice Specs would fail to.

* Life Orb is the primary item used by Nasty Plot Gholdengo, boosting its damage at the cost of recoil. Metal Coat is a recoil-free way of boosting Gholdengo's primary move, Make It Rain. Air Balloon is an option to remove Gholdengo's Ground weakness, helping it match up better into the likes of Garchomp and RestTalk Dondozo.

* Steel is Gholdengo's preferred Tera type, boosting Make It Rain's damage and removing crucial weaknesses to Dark-types. Tera Flying is an alternative that removes Gholdengo's Ground weakness without using an item, making it a great partner for Earthquake Garchomp.

Ta da. I did it! This is great
Pelipper and Palafin when equipped with Choice Specs
Pelipper is usually Sash, no? It also looks like it's both Pelipper and Palafin that specs is needed to KO since there's no comma after Pelipper but one after Gyarados, but maybe that's wrong on me.
