Overview
########
  • Dragon is a good offensive typing in NU with few relevant Steel- and Fairy-types
  • Bad defensive stats means that it has problems taking hits without Eviolite
  • Access to Dragon Dance means good sweeping potential
  • High base Attack also lets it function as a strong wallbreaker without many safe switchins
  • Can set up on stall teams with the help of Taunt
  • Dragon typing also gives it helpful resists it can use to set up
  • Middling Speed means it can be outsped even at +1
  • Decent movepool with options such as Superpower, Low Kick, Aqua Tail, Iron Tail, Poison Jab, and Dual Chop
  • Faces competition as a Dragon Dance user with Dragonair and Shelgon

Dragon Dance
########
name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Low Kick
move 4: Taunt / Poison Jab
ability: Mold Breaker
item: Eviolite
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========
  • Dragon Dance makes Fraxure into a dangerous sweeper with boosted Attack and Speed
  • Outrage is high-powered STAB, which is resisted by few Pokemon in NU
  • Low Kick can break through Steel-types, also it does not lock Fraxure into it
  • Taunt is preferred to protect Fraxure from status which can stop its sweep
  • Poison Jab is another option that hits Fairies hard
  • Iron Tail can be used if you want to hit Carbink and Granbull harder, but the low accuracy is bad and Poison Jab covers most relevant Fairy-types

Set Details
========
  • Max Speed makes Fraxure as fast as possible
  • Max Attack makes it hit hard and take advantage of boosts
  • Eviolite gives Fraxure bulk to tank hits while setting up
  • Adamant is preferred nature to hit as hard as possible
  • Jolly can be used as it outspeeds positive natured Floatzel, Sneasel and Swellow at +1

Usage Tips
========
  • Set up on weak Pokemon that cannot really do much back, such as Lumineon and Defensive Tangela
  • Use Taunt to shut down attempts at stopping Fraxure with status, such as Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp
  • Do not attempt a sweep while the opponent still has Fairy-types, as they can stop it easily as soon as you use Outrage
  • Try to save Fraxure for late-game when all of its checks and counters have been weakened
  • Be wary of possible Choice Scarf users that can revenge kill Fraxure, as it is slower than most Choice Scarf users and is trapped when locked into Outrage

Team Options
========
  • Hazard setters such as Archeops, Garbodor, and Crustle help with wearing down Fraxure's checks and counters
  • Poison- and Steel-types such as Klinklang, Mawile, and Haunter can eliminate Fairy-types for Fraxure to sweep
  • Sticky Web support from Kricketune can also be helpful so Fraxure can outspeed more Choice Scarf users and use an Adamant nature
  • Fraxure appreciates wallbreakers that can help clear the way for a sweep, examples include Poison Jab Sawk and Mawile
Choice Band
########
name: Choice Band
move 1: Outrage
move 2: Superpower
move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Dragon Claw
ability: Mold Breaker
item: Choice Band
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========
  • Outrage is a main STAB and nuke move, since it is a Choice Band set being locked into it will not be as important
  • Superpower has coverage on Steel-types, the stat drops are not as significant since Fraxure likely will switch out anyway
  • Poison Jab provides useful coverage by hitting most Fairy-types hard
  • Dragon Claw is used so that Fraxure will not be revenge killed after it uses Outrage while also does not come with the annoying confusion
  • Dual Chop is another option for breaking Substitutes and Focus Sashes, although the accuracy makes Dragon Claw better most of the time
Set Details
========
  • Choice Band skyrockets Fraxure's attack, allowing it great immediate power
  • Adamant is the preferred nature as Fraxure cannot outspeed too much anyway
  • Max Attack EVs and Max Speed make it as strong and fast as possible

Usage Tips
========
  • Click Outrage when there are no resists left, watch things die
  • When you think Fraxure may get revenge killed, use Dragon Claw instead of Outrage so you can switch out, it is also good to clean late-game
  • Use coverage moves if you predict switch-ins, use Low Kick for Steel-types and Poison Jab for Fairy-types
  • Try to switch Fraxure in on weak or resisted hits, as it cannot live many hits without Eviolite
  • Fraxure should be more of a hit-and-run attacker, as its bad speed and defenses leave it prone to being revenge killed

Team Options
========
  • Sticky Web support from Kricketune is more useful on this set than on the Dragon Dance, as Fraxure appreciates the speed control greatly
  • Faster partners that can cover for Fraxure's bad speed work well, examples include Liepard and Archeops
  • Sweepers such as Klinklang and Sneasel appreciate Fraxure's ability to break through walls that can stop them
  • Hazard setters such as Garbodor and Crustle are good partners due to the chip damage from their entry hazards

Other Options
########
  • Swords Dance is an option, but Fraxure is too slow to take advantage of it, while it also prefers the coverage if it uses Dragon Dance
  • Facade is an option to make sure Fraxure is not deadweight after getting statused, but Taunt is generally better to avoid status completely
  • Aqua Tail can hit a few targets such as Golem and Rhydon harder, but has little use outside of that
  • Lum Berry or Life Orb can be used over Eviolite, but the loss of bulk makes setting up with Fraxure much more difficult

Checks & Counters
########
  • **Fairy-Types**: Many Fairy-types such as Mr. Mime and Togetic can wall Dragon Dance sets lacking Poison Jab and also can come in if Fraxure is locked into the wrong move on the Choice Band set
  • **Steel-Types**: Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Probopass can switch in on Outrage and Dragon Claw, although they need to be wary of Fighting-type coverage
  • **Priority**: Some priority users such as Sneasel and Piloswine can pick off Fraxure with a super-effective Ice Shard
  • **Choice Scarf users**: Some fast Choice Scarf users such as Jynx and Rotom-Frost can revenge kill +1 Fraxure, although they have problems switching in on it

Overview
########

Fraxure has access to the coveted Dragon typing along with Dragon Dance, and with few relevant Steel- and Fairy-types, it has great sweeping potential. Its high base Attack lets it function as a strong wallbreaker without many safe switchins. It can set up on more defensive teams with the help of Taunt, and its Dragon typing gives it some helpful resists, in particular against Fire, Water, Grass cores. While Fraxure does have a good movepool with nice coverage options, its bad defensive stats means that it has problems taking hits without Eviolite, while its middling speed leaves it outsped by many threats even at +1. Finally, Fraxure faces some competition as a Dragon Dance user from Dragonair who boasts better bulk.

Dragon Dance
########
name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Low Kick
move 4: Taunt / Poison Jab
ability: Mold Breaker
item: Eviolite
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========

Dragon Dance turns Fraxure into a dangerous sweeper with boosted Attack and Speed. Outrage is a high-powered STAB, which is resisted by few Pokemon in NU. Low Kick can break through Steel-types that resist Outrage. In the last slot, Taunt is preferred to protect Fraxure from status moves such as Thunder Wave which can stop its sweep. Poison Jab is another option as it hits most Fairy-type Pokemon hard, as they otherwise wall Fraxure. Iron Tail also offers coverage against Fairy-types, but the accuracy is a letdown. However, it does get off stronger hits on Carbink, Mawile, and Granbull.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed and Attack EVs make Fraxure as strong and fast as possible. An Adamant nature is preferred so Fraxure can hit as hard as possible. However, a Jolly nature is usable as it will outspeed positive natured Floatzel, Sneasel, and Swellow after a Dragon Dance. Eviolite is the preferred item as it gives Fraxure some usable bulk to take hits while setting up.

Usage Tips
========

Fraxure should be setting up on weak Pokemon that cannot really do much back, such as Lumineon and Defensive Tangela. Use Taunt to shut down attempts at stopping Fraxure with status, such as Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp. Do not attempt a sweep while the opponent still has Fairy-types, as they can stop it easily as soon as you use Outrage. Try to save Fraxure for late-game when all of its checks and counters have been weakened to the point where Fraxure can clean up. Be wary of possible Choice Scarf users that can revenge kill Fraxure, as it is slower than most Choice Scarf users and is trapped when locked into Outrage, making it easy to revenge kill.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard setters such as Archeops, Garbodor, and Crustle help with wearing down Fraxure's checks and counters. Poison- and Steel-types such as Klinklang, Mawile, and Haunter can eliminate Fairy-types for Fraxure to sweep. Sticky Web support from Kricketune can also be helpful so Fraxure can outspeed more Choice Scarf users and use an Adamant nature. Fraxure appreciates wallbreakers that can help clear the way for a sweep, such as Poison Jab Sawk, Mawile, and Typhlosion.

Choice Band
########
name: Choice Band
move 1: Outrage
move 2: Superpower
move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Dragon Claw
ability: Mold Breaker
item: Choice Band
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Outrage is a main STAB and nuke move, since it is a Choice Band set being locked into it will not be as important. Superpower has coverage on Steel-types, the stat drops are not as significant since Fraxure likely will switch out anyway. Poison Jab provides useful coverage by hitting most Fairy-types hard. In the last slot, Dragon Claw is used so that Fraxure will not be revenge killed after it uses Outrage while also does not come with the annoying confusion chance if Fraxure needs to clean up. Dual Chop is another option for breaking Substitutes and Focus Sashes, although the accuracy makes Dragon Claw better most of the time.
Set Details
========

Fraxure's Attack skyrockets with a Choice Band equipped, giving it great immediate power. Adamant is the preferred nature, as Fraxure will not outspeed anything relevant with a Jolly nature, and it functions primarily as a wallbreaker. Maximum Attack and Speed EVs make Fraxure as strong and fast as possible.

Usage Tips
========

If there are no Fairy- or Steel-type Pokemon left on your opponent's team, Outrage is a good choice as it hits extremely hard. However, if you think Fraxure may be revenge killed, Dragon Claw is a better option than Outrage so you can switch out and come back in later. It is also the superior option for cleaning up, as there is no annoying confusion chance. Try to predict potential switch-ins and use the appropriate coverage move such as Low Kick for Steel-types and Poison Jab for Fairy-types. As Fraxure lacks Eviolite, try and switch it in on weak or resisted hits as it has pitiful bulk. This variant of Fraxure should be played as a hit-and-run attacker, as its bad speed and defenses leave it prone to being revenge killed.

Team Options
========

Sticky Web support from Kricketune is more useful on this set than on the Dragon Dance, as Fraxure appreciates the speed control greatly. Faster partners that can cover for Fraxure's bad speed work well, examples include Typhlosion, Liepard, and Archeops. Sweepers such as Klinklang and Sneasel appreciate Fraxure's ability to break through walls that can stop them. Entry hazard setters such as Garbodor and Crustle are good partners due to the chip damage from their entry hazards, punishing the opponent's pivoting attempts.

Other Options
########

Swords Dance is an option, but Fraxure is too slow to take advantage of it, while it also prefers the Speed boost more from Dragon Dance. Facade is an option to make sure Fraxure is not deadweight after getting statused, but Taunt is generally better to avoid status completely. Aqua Tail can hit a few targets such as Golem, Camerupt, and Rhydon harder, but has little use outside of that. Lum Berry or Life Orb can be used over Eviolite, but the loss of bulk makes setting up with Fraxure much more difficult.

Checks & Counters
########

**Fairy-Types**: Many Fairy-types such as Mr. Mime and Togetic can wall Dragon Dance sets lacking Poison Jab and also can come in if Fraxure is locked into the wrong move on the Choice Band set.

**Steel-Types**: Steel-types such as Ferroseed, Mawile, and Probopass can switch in on Outrage and Dragon Claw, although all but Mawile need to be wary of Fighting-type coverage.

**Priority**: Some priority users such as Sneasel and Piloswine can pick off Fraxure with a super-effective Ice Shard.

**Choice Scarf users**: Some fast Choice Scarf users such as Jynx and Rotom-Frost can revenge kill +1 Fraxure, although they have problems switching in on it.

Choice Band is probably worth a set. With the only Steel-type around being Mega Steelix, it's a lot easier to run.

I honestly haven't used Fraxure since like mid-XY, so I have no idea what's best on it, but the DD set looks fine. Maybe slash Jolly to outrun +Speed Swellow at +1.

Superpower > Low Kick on CB, thoughts? The only heavy thing in NU that fighting hits is Steelix, who has a really good chance of geting 2hkod by banded Superpower anyway; and you're hitting pretty much everything else in the tier harder with superpower than with low lick.
252+ Atk Choice Band Mold Breaker Fraxure Superpower vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 192-226 (54.2 - 63.8%)
-1 252+ Atk Choice Band Mold Breaker Fraxure Superpower vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 128-152 (36.1 - 42.9%)
= 91.2% - 106.7%

  • Faster partners that can cover for Fraxure's bad speed work well, examples include Chatot and Pyroar
I'm pretty sure you can think of more relevant examples of fast Pokemon in NU than Chatot and Pyroar.
Try Typhlosion and Archeops, Sneasel and Liepard, really, anything else.

anyway, blinkie Steelix and Mega Steelix leaving are pretty huge for this guy, go through and remove mentions of them, thanks!

If you're gonna slash Iron Tail on the first set and not even mention Poison Jab at all, at least mention that Iron Tail has a good chance to 2HKO Granbull after intimidate while PJ can not; as outside of that (carbink) there's very little reason to use Iron tail > poison jab.

for the above reason, I think Iron tail shouldn't even be slashed at all on the CB set, and the jolly mention removed. You don't outspeed anything more relevant with Jolly as opposed to Adamant if you're not boosting, and the immediate power is noticeable :)

pretty much every pokemon you list in team options is outclassed by another mon in the tier, idk how i feel about things like barbaracle rampardos and marowak being listed over more relevant and frankly better pokemon. other than that the information here is solid. I'd like to see the overview tell me what fraxure does and why its worth a team slot in nu. the other stuff you have listed can be seen on site in the pokemon's section (base stats mainly) after you do that 1/3

I don't think there's many pokemon that can't set up on Maractus, can you list maybe a bit more threatening examples? :P

the rest of the skeleton looks up to snuff, so do this and 2/3 you can write it up.
