I wonder if they even need to go down the cinematic universe route. I was thinking about it, and there's another Disney brand they could be copying instead. The live-action fairy tales. Each of those does consistently well, and the Universal Monsters are kind of in that ballpark too. Even though the movies aren't connected diegetically, they ARE connected as a brand. Maybe DU would've been better off copying that model. I have no idea what they are gonna do for those crossovers lol.
