  1. np: NU Stage 2 - Part of Your World

I think you missed reading half my post as I stated twice it was a gimmick, it could potentially be very annoying but it's in no way broken at all, not even slightly.
  2. RU Combinations and Playstyles

and if for whatever reason you decide to run a set similar to what I do (mono-attacking with roost, sd and baton pass) it stops them lowering your boosts with intimidate as gimmick. Clefable/Gligar is one of the best cores in the tier IMO, add in Lanturn who can check Waterfall and Ice Punch...
  3. np: NU Stage 2 - Part of Your World

Sub/Seed/Amnesia with an attack to break subs would be incredibly hard to kill if you could get it behind a sub with a few boosts (not much will break the sub in one hit). In saying that it's not likely you'd pull it off and I wouldn't be trying to set up Amnesia on Tangela so it's still a...
  4. RU Combinations and Playstyles

I find the basis of an effective team to be a fire/water/grass core as even an offensive Pokemon can afford a few switches into a resisted hit in most cases and often threaten something out. An example from a team I run would be, Sawsbuck Feraligatr Entei With a SD/Baton Pass Sawsbuck you...
  5. np: NU Stage 2 - Part of Your World

In theory it could make the leech seed variant unstoppable, but it's mostly a gimmick, the same as using synthesis on Tangela. Due to regenerator Tangela has no need to stay in on threats it can't handle as it can easily afford to switch about.
  6. Research Week #2: Smeargle, Drifblim, Vileplume

I've used defensive Vileplume a few times, having access to aromatherapy is nice, she also has reliable recovery. A lot of the time I've found her to be inferior to Meganium in that role and both Lefeon and Tangela/Tangrowth also play the roll of bulky grass very well. Using Moonlight with...
  7. Regigigas

Even with proper set up opportunities I've never felt threatened by an offensive Regigigas (I've fought the rock polish set a number of times), in saying that he has amazing bulk, particularly in a tier with so few fighting types, his potential to stall and wall is only let down by his lack of...
  8. np: NU Stage 2 - Part of Your World

Thick Fat man, halves the damage, if you're running 252/252 SpD+ Fire Blast will do very little, Focus Blast (if it hits) does a lot more, but it wont OHKO from full health. 255 SpAtk Life Orb Magmortar Focus Blast vs 252 HP/252 SpDef Miltank: 83.25% - 97.97% 2 hits to KO (with Leftovers)...
  9. RU Stage 6 - np: Renegade

I've become so used to seeing the big threats of the tier such as Sharpedo and Sceptile they hardly register anymore. The tier has quite a few good physical walls like Confagrius able to shut them down physical sweepers like Sceptile. The only Pokemon which has me scratching my head a bit is...
  10. np: NU Stage 2 - Part of Your World

I'm liking it currently, I mean, certain Pokemon have risen to the top of the crop but that will happen regardless of what you ban. I feel there are enough Pokemon around able to counter the main threats at the top of the tier. The main problem which seems to be giving most people grief is...
  11. Absol

Anything with Baton Pass isn't going to pull it's weight just thrown randomly onto a team, you really need to build a team that's not only going to benefit from it, and cover the flaws. In that particular case, I'd probably have a specially defensive Curse Quagsire on the team so that if a Jynx...
  12. Absol

You've made some solid points, perhaps an SD/Night Slash/Psycho Cut/Baton Pass set would be more viable as an other options type deal. It has massive coverage holes but Absol is fast for the tier (anything that outspeeds Mespirit is considered quick) and the tier has a decisive lack of Steels...
  13. np: RU Stage 5 - Dark Side of the Moon

I kind of feel the same, one set I find particularly threatening is Calm Mind/Psychic/HP Bug/Roost. Calm Mind gives more immediate power than Stored Power as Psychic naturally has much higher BP before and after a single boost, it also boosts the effectiveness of HP Bug, which handles most of...
  14. Absol

I don't think there is a point in using Absol over another Pokemon for the sole purpose of passing boosts, but if you're running SD/Sucker Punch, you could have Superpower for neutral coverage around the board and take Baton Pass so you don't waste boosts if you are forced out. It could also...
  15. np: RU Stage 5 - Dark Side of the Moon

Sigilyph is good, I'll admit, but it hits like a wet rag until it gets those boosts making it easy to phase, while it's bulky I do think there is enough around to deal with it, it doesn't have Cress level of bulk. I think the metagame needs to adapt to it rather than remove it, as it is it's...
