  1. No Ifs, Ands, or Buzz

In the Defog thread in Uncharted Territory, there was a debate on whether Mandibuzz should be using Knock Off or Foul Play as his offensive move. I decided to build a team around him to take advantage of the Knock Off buff and it's general utility, specifically as a stall breaking move...
  2. Pokémon Talonflame

Talonflame doesn't have the stats to go mixed and he doesn't have a move to boost his special attack. It would be quite a surprise, but not a very dangerous one.
  3. Pokémon Scolipede

Actually, Adaptability alters STAB to be *2, it isn't a separate multiplier. Bullet Punch will be 80.
  4. Pokémon Mamoswine

I've been having trouble with stall pokemon like Gliscor and Breloom that like to hide behind substitute. Is it worth running Icicle Spear instead of Icicle Crash for getting past the substitute?
  5. Pokémon Scolipede

I've had good results with Mega Pinser. It doesn't have the bulk to reliably set up by itself, so using baton pass is incredibly helpful. However, like you said, they're both bug type and it makes it hard to get them both in safely. Mega Garchomp seems like an excellent recipient because his...
  6. Pokémon Pinsir

Flying/Ground coverage is underestimated because of all the immunities to ground. If you look at a type chart, they compliment each other almost perfectly - any type that resists one is weak to the other, with the exception of flying types and levitate, and Flying resists fighting. CC also...
  7. Pokémon Scolipede

It would be better to use Charizard X. Charizard Y would like the substitute and speed, but can't take advantage of the attack boost from swords dance.
  8. Item Assault Vest

That's a pretty good idea. I would run Intimidate to force out both physical and special threats. Crunch can also help force switches. The advantage AV has over focus sash is that it doesn't care about hazards, sandstorm, or hail. Outside of those, FS gives you a guarantee.
  9. Item Assault Vest

I think Goodra, and pretty much any wall, performs better with leftovers. After you reach a certain point, increasing defense becomes less valuable that being able to recover damage, especially when you can use utility moves to stall or force out opponents. Say Goodra takes 25% from an attack...
  10. Item Assault Vest

Putting it on something like Goodra isn't going to help much because a smart opponent is using physical attacks to take it down anyway. Putting it on a physical wall is counterproductive it removes access to recovery. You don't need to diversify your wall - it has 5 team mates to do what it...
  11. Pokémon Pinsir

Agreed. You don't need the extra power; return is already 108 BP, with his ability and stab it becomes 210 BP vs 234 BP from double edge. 24 BP isn't worth the recoil.
  12. Pokémon Talonflame

Rotom-Wash is an excellent counter. I've been putting EVs into HP and DEF just to take care of Talonflame.
  13. Pokémon Talonflame

The only pokemon that situation applies to is fast electric types. You'll want to switch out against rock types and you can outspeed steel types. Just bring something that resists electric and invest in bulk so you can throw out more brave birds.
  14. Pokémon Talonflame

You would have outrun Scizor even without investing in speed.
  15. Pokémon Talonflame

That means investing in speed is probably a waste, then.
