[OVERVIEW]

Wynaut is the only Pokemon with Shadow Tag in the current LC metagame, which allows it to trap any non-Ghost-type Pokemon. What separates it from the other trappers in LC is that it boasts an amazing base 95 HP stat, one of the highest in the tier, compensating for its otherwise mediocre defensive stats. However, due to its poor movepool with very few useful options in Counter, Mirror Coat, Encore, Safeguard, and Tickle, its offensive value is null. Thanks to Wynaut's great HP stat, Counter and Mirror Coat will almost always result in OHKOs, and Encore alongside to Shadow Tag can give defensive threats in problems. Unfortunately, Wynaut lacks the Speed required to reliably pull off its status moves, and it also lacks recovery, besides Berry Juice. While Psychic is a good defensive typing that allows Wynaut to take Fighting-type attacks, it makes it vulnerable to Knock Off, which is very common, and U-turn, which significantly damages Wynaut and makes its ability to trap Pokemon useless.

Moves
========

Counter and Mirror Coat reflect any damage from physical and special moves for double of the taken damage, OHKOing most Pokemon thanks to Wynaut's high HP. Encore forces the foe to use its most recent move, which becomes handy if the foe used a move that Wynaut can resist, or a non-damaging move like Stealth Rock. It also ensures that Wynaut will know that opposing Pokemon are going to attack it next turn; coupled with its Berry Juice, this could mean a successful KO with Counter or Mirror Coat, or it could let Wynaut switch to a pivot that can handle the foe better, preserving Wynaut for later. Tickle lowers the foe's Attack and Defense by one stage, making physical attackers weaker. Wynaut can also run Safeguard, which protects it and its team from any status effects. Both moves benefit from Shadow Tag and can give setup opportunities to a teammate.

Set Details
========

156 EVs in HP give Wynaut more survivability, reaching 28 HP. 132 EVs are invested in both Defense and Special Defense for raise them by 2 points each, making it easy for Wynaut to take physical and special hits. 12 EVs in Speed allow it to outspeed passive threats like Foongus and Ferroseed and protect itself from their respective status attacks with Safeguard. A Bold nature is used to raise Wynaut's Defense and tank physical hits quite easily. Berry Juice provides Wynaut the ability to recover when it is dropped below half health, allowing it to keep tanking hits.

Usage Tips
========

If Wynaut is facing a Foongus or Mareanie, use Safeguard to protect it from status, and if either foe has used a status attack, use Encore on it. This makes them useless, and Wynaut can either PP stall them if they are slower or use free turns to switch to a sweeper and set up in order to KO them. It is recommended to KO Ghost-types like Gastly and Pumpkaboo, as well as Pursuit trappers like Pawniard, Alolan Grimer, and Stunky, as they hinder Wynaut. Wynaut should enter versus slow, passive, and bulky Pokemon, due to its passivity and low Speed. Wynaut mustn't be sent in even against attacks that it resists. Instead, it should be sent in to revenge kill and hinder its foe, having full health if possible. If it faces a setup sweeper that is faster than it, Wynaut should use Encore as soon as possible and switch to a Pokemon that can beat it easily. If it's slower, switch to a Pokemon that can take its attacks after the boost. Use Encore to trap a foe into a move like Stealth Rock, and then bring in a setup sweeper or use Tickle to reduce the foe's offensive stats in order to obtain setup opportunities.

Team Options
========

Wynaut appreciates Ghost-types such as Gastly and Pumpkaboo being removed. Pursuit trappers such as Alolan Grimer and Pawniard, as well as more uncommon options such as Stunky and Munchlax, appreciate the support from Encore + Shadow Tag to be brought in safely, and they can face and Pursuit trap Ghost-types easily with their bulk or Speed. Momentum is nice to bring Wynaut to the field to resist hits; Pokemon such as Mienfoo, Vullaby, Magnemite, and Chinchou act as pivots and help Wynaut to get in. Wynaut really appreciates Pokemon that can beat Dark-types. Thus, Timburr, Mienfoo, and Scraggy are good partners for it, as they can take on threats such as Pawniard and Carvanha. Setup sweepers appreciate support from Wynaut's Tickle and Encore; Shell Smash users like Shellder and Tirtouga and other setup sweepers such as Corphish and Carvanha can take advantage of Wynaut's support to either safely set up or sweep.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Charm can be used over Tickle to more quickly weaken physical attackers, but it's almost completely outclassed by Tickle due to the latter's ability to lower the foe's Defense. Destiny Bond can be used over Safeguard for KOing any Pokemon that has weakened it, but sometimes, it's pretty important to save Wynaut for threats that its team can't otherwise beat. A faster EV spread of 132 Def / 52 SpD / 252 Spe with a Timid nature allows Wynaut to outpace Timburr and Shell Smash users before a boost, but this significantly reduces its bulk. A bulkier EV spread of 236 HP / 132 Def / 132 SpD with a Calm or Bold nature can be used to stomach more hits, but it misses out on outspeeding Foongus. Psychium Z can be used over Berry Juice to get a 100-BP Shattered Psyche from Mirror Coat, but it's not worth the itemslot, as Mirror Coat typically deals more damage due to Wynaut's HP, and this causes Wynaut to lose its only way to recover its health. Eviolite further boosts Wynaut's defenses to tank more hits, but it makes Wynaut lose out on its only method of recovery.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Pawniard, Alolan Grimer, and Scraggy can hinder Wynaut a lot, as they can KO it easily with their STAB attacks, and the former two are able to Pursuit trap it.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types like Gastly and Pumpkaboo aren't affected by Shadow Tag, and the former can also KO Wynaut or switch out from it respectively.

**Knock Off**: Wynaut struggles a lot against Knock Off users like Mienfoo, Pawniard, and Alolan Grimer, as losing its Berry Juice makes it unable to recover.

**Taunt Users**: Pokemon that use Taunt like Mienfoo and Onix can guve Wynaut trouble, as it only can use Counter and Mirror Coat and becomes useless against them, if they play carefully around it.

**VoltTurn users**: U-turn and Volt Switch users like Mienfoo and Chinchou can switch out safely and avoid getting trapped by Wynaut while denting it.

Not QC, but consider putting Tickle over Charm in OO. I personally find it more useful as it also lowers the opponent's Defense by one.

Being honest, it doesn't matter, as the setup sweeper who get supported by Wynaut can still sweep depending on the Pokemon, and having the Attack lowered two levels is very useful for setup with less problems.

[OVERVIEW]

- It has one of the highest HP stats, with an overwhelming base 95 HP.
- Its bulk is very mediocre at first glance, but it's compensed by its HP.
- Its movepool is very poor, only being able to use a few useful moves, which include Counter, Mirror Coat, Encore, Safeguard and Destiny Bond.
- It's the only user of Shadow Tag in the metagame.
- Psychic-type is a good defensive typing for threaten some common threats, like Fighting-types.
-Due to its big HP, Counter and Mirror Coat will be almost always likely to OHKO everything.
-It's very slow, and it has no offensive value.
-It lacks of any recovery, besides Berry Juice.
Mention that Shadow Tag+Encore is a extremely potent combination.

- Counter reflects any damage from physical moves with the double of the taken damage, dealing a lot of damage to everything that is not Ghost-type, due to its HP.
- Mirror Coat reflects any damage from special moves with the double of the taken damage, dealing a lot of damage to everything that is not Dark-type.
- Encore forces the foe to use the move that it has used last turn, becoming handy if it used a move that Wynaut can resist. Mention non-damaging moves such as Stealth Rock here as well.
- Safeguard protects Wynaut and its partners from any status for five turns, which it comes pretty handy against Pokemon who spread status, like Snubbull, Foongus and Ferroseed.
Slash Tickle before Safeguard. I've used Wynaut pretty extensively, and Tickle is more useful than Safeguard (or Charm for that matter).

Set Details
========

- 132 EVs in both Defense and Special Defense are invested for raise them in 2 points, making easy to take physical and special hits.
- 172 EVs in Speed maximizes it Speed to outspeed very bulky threats such as Foongus, non-Iron Fist Timburr variants, and Mareanie.
- A Timid nature is used to increase its Speed and tie with Iron Fist Timburr with Speed investment. Mention that it also outspeeds Grimer-Alola.
- Berry Juice provides Wynaut the ability of recover its health at half of it, to keep exerting pressure.

Usage Tips
========

- If its facing a Foongus or Mareanie, use Safeguard to protect from status, and if it has done a status attack, use Encore on it. This makes them unuseful, and you can either PP stall them, or change to a sweeper to knock them out.
- Make sure to knock Ghost-types like Gastly and Pumpkaboo, and Pursuit Trappers like Pawniard, Alolan Grimer and Stunky out, as they hinder Wynaut.
- Wynaut should be sent safely to the field if there aren't any entry hazards, as they low its HP and can make easier to beat it without activating its Berry Juice. Hazards don't really matter for Wynaut; it's mainly used vs slow/bulky/passive Pokemon.
- Wynaut mustn't be sent to predict attacks that it can resist. Instead, it should enter as revenge, and hinder its opponent, having full health if possible.
- If it faces a setup sweeper that is faster than it, Wynaut should use Encore as soon as possible, and then, change to a Pokemon which can beat it easily. If it's slower, change to a Pokemon which can take its attacks after the boost.
-Use Encore to reap an opponent into a move like Stealth rock, then bring in a setup sweeper.
-Use Tickle as a pseudo-Memento for physical attackers.

Team Options
========

- Wynaut appreciates Ghost-types such as Gastly and Pumpkaboo getting removed. Pursuit trappers such as Alolan Grimer and Pawniard, and more uncommon options such as Stunky and Munchlax, can face them easily with their bulk and Speed, respectively, and deal great amounts of damage on the switch. Don't mention Munchlax and Stunky. Do mention that Pursuit works very well in conjunction with Tickle, essentially guaranteeing the removal of certain Pokemon.
- Momentum is pretty nice to bring Wynaut in the field to resist hits. Pokemon such as Mienfoo, Vullaby, Magnemite, Chinchou, and less common, Pancham and Alolan Meowth, act as pivots and help Wynaut to get in. Again, get rid of the "less common" mentions and don't use more than three examples.
- Pokemon who can beat Dark-types are really appreciated by Wynaut. Timburr, Mienfoo and Scraggy are good partners for it, as they can OHKO Dark-type threats such as Scraggy, Pawniard and Houndoor. You don't need to specify Dark-type threats. I wouldn't mention Scraggy under Fighting-types either.
- The removal of the Pursuit trappers is great for Wynaut to endure. Ground-types such as Diglett and Mudbray can take on them, as they usually have Poison/Steel-typing. This isn't really necessary; The most common Pursuit users are Dark-types, which you covered above.
- Setup sweepers appreciate the support of Wynaut with Safeguard and Encore, protecting them from status and having easy opportunities to set up. Many Pokemon such as Shell Smash users like Shellder, Tirtouga, Omanyte and Clamperl, and other setup sweepers such as Corphish, Pawniard, Timburr, Spritzee, Scraggy, Magby and Zigzagoon, can take advantage of its support to safely set up. You don't need all these examples here. Use no more than three.

Other Options
=============

- Charm can be used over Safeguard to weaken physical attackers, but having Safeguard against status users comes pretty handy sometimes for beat them easily. Mention that Charm is mostly outclassed by Tickle.
- Destiny Bond can be used over Safeguard for knocking off any Pokemon which has weakened it, but sometimes, it's pretty important to save it for threats that its team can't beat.
- A bulkier EV spread of 236 HP / 132 Def / 132 SpD with a Calm or Bold nature can be used for stomach more hits, but it misses the ability of outspeed the aforementioned bulky threats, and put them in trouble.
- A Psychium-Z can be used over Berry Juice, for get a 100-BP Shattered Psyche in Mirror Coat, but it's not worth, as Mirror Coat deals more damage due to Wynaut's HP, and it's always a waste of itemslot, losing its only way to recover its health.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Wynaut**: It can put itself into problem, as it can't touch himself neither with Counter or Mirror Coat, and its forced to spam Encore to beat it with PP stall. This isn't actually an issue. Shadow Tag users cannot trap other Shadow Tag users. Remove this.
**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Pawniard, Alola Grimer and Scraggy can hinder Wynaut a lot, as they can KO it easily with their STABs. Emphasize Pursuit users here.
**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types like Gastly and Pumpkaboo aren't affected by Shadow Tag, and they can KO Wynaut or switch out from it respectively.
**Knock Off**: Wynaut struggles a lot against Knock Off users, as it can lose its Berry Juice, making it unable to recover. Give examples.
**Pursuit Trappers**: Pokemon such as Alola-Grimer, Pawniard, Houndour, Munchlax and Stunky put Wynaut into problem, as they can KO it on the switch. Cover this under Dark-types.

  • This should start with Wynaut's role and why it can perform that role (trapper because STag).
  • Your movepool line is weird, as you mention Safeguard and DBond, neither of which are (currently) slashed, but not Tickle, which is.
  • Mention that its Psychic typing gives it a weakness to Knock Off, which is of course very common, and U-turn, which certain Pokemon can use to simultaneously switch out of Wynaut's trap and significantly dent it.

  • Tahu said to slash Tickle before Safeguard, which I agree with. Safeguard should be slashed however as protecting Wynaut from status can be very useful.
  • Talked about the EV spread on Discord with you and Tahu. The extra HP allows Wynaut to be a bit more survivable and have more potential Counter/Mirror Coat damage, while this still outspeeds Foongus to lock it into Spore and give a set up opportunity to a teammate.

[OVERVIEW]

Wynaut is the only Pokéemon with Shadow Tag in the current LC metagame, which allows it to trap Pokemon that aren't Ghost-type or have the same ability as it. (if it's the only Shadow Tag user, there are no Pokemon with that same ability) What it differs it from the other trappers in LC is that it boasts an amazing base 95 HP stat, having one of the highest HP stats in the tier, and it compenses its mediocre bulk.compensating for its otherwise mediocre defensive stats. [Does Wynaut still have good overall bulk because of its HP stat or is its bulk still overall mediocre? Only implement this change if Wynaut still has decent overall bulk] However, due to its poor movepool, it has having very few useful moves in Counter, Mirror Coat, Encore, Safeguard, (AC) and Tickle, which it means its offensive value is null. Thanks to itWynaut's great HP stat, Counter and Mirror Coat will be almost always likely to OHKO everything, and Encore,result in OHKOs, and Encore alongside to Shadow Tag can put defensive threats in problems.give defensive threats problems. [If you want to keep the verb "put," consider: "alongside Shadow Tag can put defensive threats in problematic situations."] It lacks of Speed to Unfortunately, Wynaut lacks the Speed required to reliably pull off its status moves, attacks [I changed this sentence quite a bit--Speed doesn't matter for Counter and Mirror Coat which are Wynaut's attacks because they are negative priority. Does the way I've reworded this keep the same meaning you wanted to have? If not, please let me know] and it also lacks recovery, (RC) besides Berry Juice, (RC). While Psychic is a good defensive typing which allows ithat allows Wynaut to take Fighting-type attacks, but it makes it Wynaut (changing the meaning of "it") prone to Knock Off, which is very common, and U-turn, which helplets the foe to switch out, significantly damaging Wynaut and making its ability to trap Pokemon useless. [This is fine, but you could consider rewording this--It doesn't make Wynaut's ability to trap Pokemon useless as a whole, it just prevents Wynaut from trapping the U-turn user.]

Moves
========

Counter and Mirror Coat reflect any damage from physical and special moves, (AC) respectively, and deals dealing [removed "and" here because the double damage hit is explanation of the reflection, not in addition to the reflection] a hit equivalent theto double of the taken damage, OHKOing most of the Pokemon thanks to itsWynaut's high HP. Encore forces the foe to use the move that it has used last turnits most recent move, [optional change, but if Wynaut goes second and uses Encore, it won't force the foe into using the move it used last turn, it'll force it into using the move it used on that turn] (this change isn't optional, I'm asking you to make it) becoming handy if itthe foe used a move that Wynaut can resist, or non-damage moves or a non-damaging move like Stealth Rock. Encore is also relevant because it ensures that iWynaut will know that opposing Pokemon are going to attack it next turn. C—coupled with its Berry Juice it, this could mean a succesful kill, or switchingsful KO with Counter or Mirror Coat, or this could let Wynaut switch to a pivot that can handle the Pokemonfoe better, preserving Wynaut for later. Tickle lowers the foeopponent's Attack and Defense by one levelstage, acting as a pseudo-Memento. (I don't really like this comparison - Memento lowers both Attack and Special Attack and also forces the user to sacrifice itself, this is lowering only Attack, doesn't cause the user to faint, and also making the foe frailer. I'd reword this to clarify what you mean) IWynaut can also run Safeguard, which protects Wynauit and its team from any status attack. Both attacks,effects. Both moves benefit from alongside to Shadow Tag, (RC) and can give setup opportunities to a teammate.

Set Details

156 EVs in HP makgive Wynaut more survivableility, reaching 28 HP. 132 EVs are invested in both Defense and Special Defense are invested for to raise them inby 2 points each, making it easy for Wynaut to take physical and special hits. 12 EVs in Speed allows it to outspeed passive threats like Foongus and Ferroseed, (RC) and protect itself from their respective status attacks with Safeguard. A Bold nature is used to raise Wynaut's Defense and tank physical hits quite easily. Berry Juice provides Wynaut the ability of recover its health at half of it,to recover when it is dropped below half health, allowing it to keep tanking hits.

Usage Tips
========

If Wynaut itsis facing a Foongus or Mareanie, use Safeguard to protect from status, and if it either foe has done a status attack, use Encore on it. This makes them unuseful, and youWynaut can either PP stall them if they are slower, (RC) or give use free turns to switchchange to a sweeper and set up in order to knock them outKO them. It is recommendable to knocked to KO Ghost-types like Gastly and Pumpkaboo, ands well as Pursuit trappers like Pawniard, Alolan Grimer, (AC) and Stunky out, as they hinder Wynaut. [when should the player KO them – explicitly mention KO'ing them before bringing Wynaut in to trap if this is the case] Wynaut should enter versus slow, passive, (AC) and bulky Pokéemon, due to its passivity and low Speed. (Remove break) Wynaut mustn't be sent in againstto predicted attacks that it cancould resist. Instead, it should enter for revenge, and hinder its opponentbe sent in to revenge kill and hinder its foe, having full health if possible. If it faces a setup sweeper that is faster than it, Wynaut should use Encore as soon as possible, and then, change to a Pokemon which switch to a Pokemon that can beat it easily. If it's [What does it's refer to here, Wynaut or its foe?] slower, switchchange to a Pokemon whichthat can take its attacks after the boost. Use Encore to reap an opponenttrap a foe into a move like Stealth Rock, then bring in a setup sweeper, or use Tickle as a pseudo-Memento for giveto give setup opportunities of set up. (same complaint as in Moves)
