welcome to the creative & underrated sets thread, where memes are born and my soundcloud continues to be advertised. if you have the balls to post in my thread, then you should know what the drill is by now. a creative or underrated set should be ideally be posted, but who the hell knows at this point.

rules:
- if you don't have good replay(s), your post is getting deleted.
- do not critique someone just to end up advertising your own set.
- have a good reason for using something. double kick virizain and bulletpunchgnigga aren't pokemon.
- your set must accomplish something relevant (example post).

gang.

Fuck Vertex for making this gay ass banner...

Landorus-Therian @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Explosion

This Landorus-T set has been going around for a while now and I've wanted to post it in creative sets, but the USUM version wasn't up until late yesterday, so here I am. This is a fantastic suicide lead set for various different types of HO ranging from Sticky Web offense to Aurora Veil. This set is incredibly consistent at getting up Stealth Rock and keeping them up for long periods of time. Hidden Power Ice obviously snipes opposing Landorus-T so that you can blow up something else with Explosion and also pressure them upon switch in so that they can't set up Stealth Rocks. You can change this set to having a Naive nature if you want to get more favorable rolls with HP Ice vs the various Pokemon in this tier that are 4x weak to HP Ice, but obviously you'll be compromising your own Special Defense. I'm not gonna provide more than one replay because this set is super straightforward, but it's one of my favorite mons to use right now just because of how far ahead it can put you at the start of games.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-666855370 - In this replay, Landorus-T gets up Stealth Rock early (which is pivotal for pressuring Alolan Marowak later in the game so that it can't come in again) and heavily weakens Cresselia so that Mega Medicham can more effectively pressure the team later in the game.

that banner's fire idk what you're on

Azumarill @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpD or whatever you want
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Perish Song
- Whirlpool
- Protect
- Scald / Rest / Toxic / Encore

Azu's generally a pretty bad mon in ou but with this set you're able to trap and dispose of a lot of threats. Sap Sipper combined with Azu's typing allows it to wall a ton of stuff in OU, including Heatran, Kartana, Tapu Bulu, Ash-Greninja, and Latios if they're not running garbage. Whirlpool and Perish Song allows Azumarill to trap and kill anything it can wall, including passive stuff like toxapex, mew, chansey, and ferrothorn as well. Whirlpool also chips a ton on stuff like Koko should they try to come in. Azu's not that bulky, so vs offense its not going to be as effective, but vs bulkier teams it does really well.

INSANE CARZY GUY

Banned deucer.
Whenever I use Stack I have problems with thorn and intimidate users, and with lando being on half the teams running white herb has merit but gotta be careful vs moonblast, trick, knock off

but power herb also makes superpower safer to throw out once and helping keep boosts in general

Stakataka @ White Herb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Lonely Nature
IVs: 15 Def / 0 Spe
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
- Gyro Ball
- Trick Room

252+ Atk Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Landorus-Therian: 216-255 (56.5 - 66.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
-1 252+ Atk Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Landorus-Therian: 144-171 (37.6 - 44.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

-1 252+ Atk Stakataka Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Landorus-Therian: 172-204 (45 - 53.4%) -- 1.2% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

What's cool about that third replay is that it also demonstrates how Magearna can be an awesome partner to this Azumarill set. Azu traps something, and on the turn it switches out, you can go in to your Mag to watch as the opposing Pokemon is KO'd which activates Soul Heart. Mag starts off with +1 SpA just by switching in.
