OU Tornadus-T

[OVERVIEW]

Tornadus-T boasts an impressive Speed tier that puts it above a myriad of threats, such as Mega Medicham, Keldeo, and Gengar, as well as exemplary offensive stats, making it a premier offensive threat. Blessed with an incredible ability in Regenerator, Tornadus-T is also a premier offensive and defensive pivot. Its Assault Vest set checks some of the most dangerous threats in the tier, the most prominent being Gengar, a nigh-unwallable special attacker. While Tornadus-T is fast, it is still outpaced by threats such as Tapu Koko, Greninja, and Weavile. Its best STAB option, Hurricane, has a meager 70% accuracy, which makes it a risky move to use.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Hurricane is Tornadus-T's most powerful STAB option, and while this set has no Special Attack investment, it still hits decently hard. Heat Wave is excellent coverage, as it hits Steel-types that resist Hurricane such as Jirachi, offensive Celesteela, and Magnezone. Knock Off is a reliable move without any drawbacks that allows Tornadus-T to remove items, which is especially useful against threats that rely on their item to break through it. U-turn allows Tornadus-T to function as a pivot and generate momentum. Superpower is an option that hits Tyranitar and Heatran harder than Tornadus-T's other moves, and Hidden Power Ice could be used for a reliable way to prevent Zygarde, Landorus-T, and Garchomp from setting up on Tornadus-T, which Hurricane fails to do.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment preserves Tornadus-T's fantastic Speed tier, while maximum HP investment gives it as much bulk as possible. An Assault Vest bestows Tornadus-T with the special bulk necessary to safely switch in on threats such as Gengar, Keldeo, and Mega Alakazam. While it may seem fine to utilize a Hasty nature, it isn't recommended, as Knock Off and U-turn are mainly used as utility moves, not for dealing damage.

Usage Tips
========

It's best to use Knock Off and U-turn liberally to wear down Tornadus-T's checks early on, remove items, and generate momentum. Thanks to Regenerator and its passable bulk, Tornadus-T can be brought directly into the match on Pokemon that cannot immediately threaten it such as Mega Venusaur, Gengar, and specially offensive Celesteela. Tornadus-T should also only use Hurricane if necessary; its shaky accuracy can be costly. Finally, if Stealth Rock is up, be wary of what Tornadus-T switches into. For example, Choice Specs Keldeo can possibly KO Tornadus-T with Hydro Pump after a round of Stealth Rock damage and a bit of prior damage.

Team Options
========

This set is utilized on teams that need a switch-in to special attackers such as Keldeo, Serperior, and Gengar. Teammates that form a pivoting core with Tornadus-T such as Mega Scizor, Jirachi, Tapu Koko, and Rotom-W are fine partners. The former two are also great checks to Rock-types that threaten Tornadus-T, and the latter two appreciate Tornadus-T's ability to break past Grass-types such as Tangrowth and Ferrothorn. Wallbreakers such as Mega Medicham and Mega Mawile enjoy Tornadus-T's defensive utility and pivoting to bring them into play. Grass-types such as Tapu Bulu and Serperior appreciate Tornadus-T's ability to beat opposing Grass-types like Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss, as they keep them from freely using their powerful STAB attacks. Partners that can deal with Electric-types are necessary; teammates able to do this include Ferrothorn, Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and Mega Venusaur. It's worth noting that Tangrowth and Amoonguss also form a potent Regenerator core with Tornadus-T. While entry hazard removal isn't necessary, Tornadus-T appreciates it nonetheless. Teammates capable of providing this include Tapu Fini, Latios, Starmie, and Mega Scizor, the latter of which can also form a pivoting core with Tornadus-T.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Hurricane is Tornadus-T's most powerful STAB option and hits anything that doesn't resist it immensely hard; for example, it 2HKOes Toxapex, Tapu Fini, and physically defensive Clefable. Heat Wave is excellent coverage to hit Steel-types that resist Hurricane, like Skarmory and Magearna. Taunt prevents them from using recovery or status moves, allowing Tornadus-T to break past them. U-turn allows Tornadus-T to function as a pivot and generate momentum, as well as escape unfavorable matchups. Knock Off is used to cripple many of Tornadus-T's switch-ins such as Chansey, Nihilego, and Tapu Koko by removing their beneficial items. Superpower is a good coverage move, as it hits Pokemon that resist both Hurricane and Heat Wave, such as Heatran, Tyranitar, and Nihilego. Hidden Power Ice is a decent option that hits Landorus-T, Zygarde, and Garchomp for heavy damage and prevents them from exploiting Hurricane's shaky accuracy for setup opportunities.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack and Speed allows Tornadus-T to hit as hard and fast as it possibly can. A Naive nature preserves its great Speed tier while not weakening the power of Superpower, U-turn, and Knock Off. A Hasty nature could be run if you'd prefer the ability to switch into threats such as Mega Venusaur and Choice Scarf Keldeo easier, but Tornadus-T becomes more susceptible to priority such as Mega Mawile's Sucker Punch and Mega Medicham's Fake Out.

Usage Tips
========

Since this set is not too bulky, Tornadus-T appreciates U-turn or Volt Switch support to get it into play safely. If Tornadus-T is using U-turn, utilize it early on to elicit a response from your opponent. Once you are sure what their primary check to Tornadus-T is, use the appropriate coverage move to cripple it. This set should also be played as a countermeasure against stall teams if using Taunt and Knock Off. Taunt is a good move for halting defensive Pokemon, as it denies them recovery, and Knock Off cripples them further by removing their items. This allows Tornadus-T to ravage the helpless opposition with little to no trouble. Knock Off, in general, should be used liberally to cripple threats such as Choice Scarf Nihilego and Chansey. If Stealth Rock is on the field, it's better to switch Tornadus-T out than use U-turn. The combination of Life Orb recoil and Stealth Rock damage does a bit more damage than Regenerator can heal off. Use Hurricane cautiously, as a potential miss could spell doom for Tornadus-T, as it may be KOed or severely weakened.

Team Options
========

Tornadus-T appreciates U-turn and Volt Switch support to safely get it into play, so Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, Jirachi, and Mega Scizor are good picks. Teammates that can take on Electric-types such as Tapu Koko and Thundurus are necessary, so Tangrowth, Mega Venusaur, Amoonguss, and Landorus-T are good partners. The latter also sets Stealth Rock, which is very useful for securing KOs. Entry hazard removal, while not mandatory, is appreciated, as it reduces the amount of passive damage Tornadus-T takes, thus giving it more longevity. Some teammates that are able to fulfill this role are Tapu Fini, Starmie, and Latios, with the former two enjoying Tornadus-T's ability to beat Grass-types. Tornadus-T also works well on rain teams, as it gains 100% accurate Hurricanes from Pelipper's Drizzle, making it a menace to face. Pelipper can also remove hazards with Defog and safely get Tornadus-T into play with its slow U-turn.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Focus Blast is definitely an option over Superpower, as it hits Rotom-W and means that Tornadus-T doesn't have to cut its bulk with a Naive or Hasty nature to boost the strength of Superpower. However, it gives Tornadus-T another rather inconsistent move alongside Hurricane. Z-Crystals such as Flyinium Z and Firium Z are options to give Tornadus-T a one-time nuke to possibly break past a stubborn switch-in.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Tapu Koko, Magnezone, Rotom-W, and Thundurus are all able to sponge a hit from Tornadus-T and retaliate with their own super effective STAB attacks. Zapdos deserves a special mention, as it is one of the best answers there is to Tornadus-T in the tier due to its decent bulk and access to recovery.

**Rock-types**: Nihilego and Tyranitar both switch in on Tornadus-T with relative ease, only fearing Superpower and losing their items to Knock Off. Choice Scarf Terrakion easily outpaces Tornadus-T, but it cannot safely switch in. All three can OHKO Tornadus-T with their powerful STAB moves.

**Faster Attackers**: While Tornadus-T is very fast, it is still outsped by threats such as Choice Scarf Nihilego, Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Terrakion, as well as by non-Choice Scarf users such as Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Weavile, all of which can KO Tornadus-T with their STAB moves.

forgot to mention but the AV set's ev spread allows Torn to KO Keldeo after rocks with Hurricane while nabbing a really close (97.7%) chance to 2HKO Mega Metagross with Heat Wave

[OVERVIEW]

- Great Speed tier putting it above very dangerous threats such as Mega Metagross, Keldeo, Landorus-T, and Mega Medicham.
- Decent Attack and Special Attack backed by an expansive movepool makes it it a formidable attacker.
- Great ability in Regenerator, allowing it to function as an excellent offensive and defensive pivot. It also mitigates damage from passive sources such as Stealth Rock and Life Orb recoil.
- While it is fast, it's not the fastest, which leaves it outpaced by threats like Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Weavile.
- Hurricane has a meager 70% accuracy, which makes it a very risky move to constantly use in abandon.
there should also be a mention about how assault vest torn-t is one of the best gengar answers since it can switch in very reliably, only fearing less common sets like specs+tbolt or electrium z

- Hurricane is Tornadus-T's only and most powerful STAB option
- Heat Wave is excellent coverage as it hits Steel-types that resist Hurricane. list examples
- Knock Off is a reliable move without any drawbacks that allows Tornadus-T to remove items, especially from threats that rely on their item to break Tornadus-T.
- U-turn allows Tornadus-T to pivot
- Superpower is an option that hits Tyranitar and Heatran harder than it's other moves
- Hidden Power [Ice] could be used for a reliable way to prevent Zygarde, Landorus-T, and Garchomp from setting up on Tornadus-T unlike Hurricane.

Set Details
========

- 80 SpA gives Tornadus-T an ample enough power boost to muscle through Mega Metagross with Heat Wave and guarantee an OHKO on Keldeo with Hurricane after Stealth Rock.
- Maximum Speed investment preserves it's fantastic Speed tier.
- The remaining EV's are invested into HP for great all-around bulk
- An Assault Vest gives Tornadus-T the Special bulk to safely switch-in on threats such as Gengar, Keldeo, and Mega Alakazam.
- A Hasty Nature isn't recommended as Knock Off and U-turn are mainly utility moves. It should only be considered if running Superpower.

Usage Tips

- This set is utilized on teams that need a switch-in to special attackers such as Keldeo, Serperior, and Battle Bond Greninja before its transformation. i dunno about gren, i think its better to mention gengar instead since hydro/icebeam 2hkos torn

move 4: Taunt / Knock Off / U-turn

evs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

i think the move order here should be
- hurricane
- u-turn
- taunt / other stuff
- knock off / other stuff

those 4 moves are basically mandatory if you plan to use torn-t as a stallbreaker so ensure you cover this point, lo rips through everything, prevents recovery, and knock off hurts recovery even more. then you can mention options like heat wave > taunt / knock if you're not planning to use torn-t to break stall, but instead harass stuff like bulky offense w/ wild coverage options.

- Hurricane is Tornadus-T's most powerful STAB option that hits anything that doesn't resist it immensely hard.
- Heat Wave is necessary coverage to hit Steel-types that resist Hurricane. list examples
- Superpower finishes off Tornadus-T's coverage by hitting Pokemon that resist both Hurricane and Heat Wave such as, Heatran, Tyranitar, and Nihilego. It's also a great move for hitting Chansey, which otherwise walls this set.
- Sludge Wave is an option to hit Tapu Koko and other Fairy-types such as Tapu Fini and Clefable hard. move this lower, i haven't used sludge wave torn-t at all yet, but i don't believe its slash material on lo. i can see it being a good option bc kokos a super common switchin though.
- Taunt is recommended if Superpower is run; alongside it Tornadus-T can defeat Chansey. again, taunt should mainly be used if torn wants to harass bulky teams
- Knock Off is also a solid option that cripples many of Tornadus-T's switch-ins such as Chansey, Nihilego, and Tapu Koko by removing thier beneficial items.
- U-turn could be used for Tornadus-T to function as a pivot and generate momentum
- Hidden Power [Ice] is a decent option that hits Landorus-T, Zygarde, and Garchomp for heavy damage. It prevents them from exploiting Hurricane's shaky accuracy to setup.

Honestly I feel like 248 HP benefits torn-t a lot more than this spread does on the AV set. I understand what you mean to try ohkoing keldeo, however keldeo can't really dmg you heavily regardless since all of them are scarf nowadays for greninja and Max Hp is super beneficial to become a better pivot into things like z move gengar, latios, cm mega zam (altho rare) and also can now sponge better hits from physical atks as well. OHKOing keldeo i feel isn't necessary because the keldeo users usually don't stay in vs torn-ts anyway since their best move to hit it with is stone edge which is too weak to even dent torn-t regardless, plus if you have hazards up, that adds up to the point where it will be weakened enough that it will be in hurricane range later on in the game.

Yeah the LO set isn't very optimal. It should look like this:

move 3: Taunt / U-Turn
move 4: Knock Off / Superpower

U-turn is by no means mandatory and Heat Wave is something you can't give up with Steela, Skarm, and other Steels running around. Mention HP Ice in move comments too, as it is useful for OHKOing Landorus-T, Garchomp, and accurately 2HKOing Zygarde.

alright, changed the set and reworded the set details, thanks!

Thanks to Regenerator and it's passable bulk, Tornadus-T can be brought directly into the match on Pokemon that cannot immediately threaten it such as Mega Venusaur, Gengar, and offensive Celesteela.
On this point, make sure you clarify that you need to scout to make sure it's actually specially offensive Celesteela and not physically offensive as uninvested Heavy Slam already does near half.

For example, Choice Specs Latios can possibly KO Tornadus-T with Draco Meteor after a round of Stealth Rock damage, so exercise caution.
I would change this line entirely. As there aren't really many instances where TornT should be switched in an attacking Latios, try to find better examples of something you're more likely to switch into.

In Team Options, make sure you make it clear that TornT needs hazards control for it not to get too worn down. You mentioned Fini and Mega Scizor, but didn't mention Defog barring on the Life Orb set with Pelipper.

An EV spread of 60 Atk / 196 SpA / 252 Spe can be ran to guarantee the OHKO on offensive Exadrill with Superpower.
I don't really like mentioning this because offensive excadrill already takes 94-111% from 4 Attack Life Orb. I guess this running more attack is good for Defensive Excadrill but that set isnt that great imo. I'd prefer this to be removed as it's niche benchmark, and niche benchmarks aren't the best mentions in my eyes. Unless there's something more relevant than Excadrill that you need the 60 Atk for, I would remove this.

Tornadus-T also works exceedingly well on Rain teams as it gains 100% accurate Hurricanes from Pelipper's Drizzle, making it a menace to face.
I think you're overselling TornT on rain teams a bit, in my experience its just okay. The mention is fine but I wouldn't make it sounds like it's amazing considering there are significantly better rain abusers available.

everything else is fine. 3/3

[OVERVIEW]

Tornadus-T, one of the forces of nature, is back and ready for action in the SM OU metagame. (fluff) With Tornadus-T boasts an impressive speed Speed tier putting it that puts it above dangerous threats, (AC) such as Mega Medicham, Keldeo, and Gengar, (AC) as well as exemplary offensive stats, which makes it a true terror to behold (consider rephrasing this and just saying it makes it a huge threat or something, saying it's a true terror to behold doesn't really tell the reader anything and is a little fluffy). Blessed with an incredible ability in Regenerator, Tornadus-T is also a premier offensive and defensive pivot. Hurricane is Tornadus-T's only and (this isnt true, Tornadus-T does have access to other STAB attacks, they're just terrible) most powerful STAB option, and while Special Attack is uninvested this set has no Special Attack investment, it still hist hits decently hard. Heat Wave is excellent coverage, (AC) as it hits Steel-types that resist Hurricane such as Jirachi, offensive Celesteela, and Magnezone. Knock Off is a reliable move without any drawbacks that allows Tornadus-T to remove items, especially from which is especially useful against (otherwise this sounds like you're saying "threats that rely on their item to break through Tornadus-T" are easier for Tornadus-T to remove items from) threats that rely on their item to break through Tornadus-T it (less repetitive). U-turn allows Tornadus-T to function as a pivot and generate momentum. Superpower is an option that hits Tyranitar and Heatran harder than it's Tornadus-T's other moves and Hidden Power Ice could be used for a reliable way to prevent Zygarde, Landorus-T, and Garchomp from setting up on Tornadus-T, which unlike Hurricane fails to do.

Hurricane is Tornadus-T's most powerful STAB option, which that hits anything that doesn't resist it immensely hard. For example, it 2HKOes Toxapex, Tapu Fini, Physically Defensive and physically defensive Clefable. Heat Wave is excellent coverage to hit Steel-types that resist Hurricane, (AC) like Skarmory and Magearna. Taunt coerces bulky, passive Pokemon into using attacking moves, which and (it isnt the fact that they are coerced into using attacking moves that prevents them from using status/recovery moves, it's Taunt) prevents them from using recovery or status moves, allowing Tornadus-T to break past them. U-turn is used for Tornadus-T to function as a pivot and generate momentum, as well as escape unfavorable matchups. Knock Off is used to cripple many of Tornadus-T's switch-ins such as Chansey, Nihilego, and Tapu Koko by removing their beneficial items. Superpower is a good coverage move, as it hits Pokemon that resist both Hurricane and Heat Wave, (AC) such as, (RC) Heatran, Tyranitar, and Nihilego. A Hasty Nature nature could be run if you'd prefer the ability to switch into threats such as Mega Venusaur and Scarf Keldeo easier, but Tornadus-T becomes more susceptible to priority such as Mega Mawile's Sucker Punch and Mega Medicham's Fake Out.

Usage Tips
========

Since this set lacks the bulk AV Assault Vest does, Tornadus-T appreciates U-turn or Volt Switch support to get it into play safely. If Tornadus-T is using U-turn is used (it is otherwise unclear whether you're talking about if Torn is using U-turn or one of its teammates is), utilize it early on to elicit a response from your opponent. Once you are sure what their primary check to Tornadus-T is, (AC) use the appropriate coverage move to cripple it. This set should also be played as a countermeasure against stall teams if using Taunt and Knock Off. Taunt is a good move for halting defensive Pokemon, (AC) as it denies them recovery and Knock Off cripples them further by removing their items. This allows Tornadus-T to ravage the helpless opposition with little to not no trouble. Knock Off, (AC) in general, (AC) should be used liberally to cripple threats such as Choice Scarf Nihilego and Chansey. If Stealth Rock is on the field, it's better to switch Tornadus-T out than use U-turn. The combination of Life Orb recoil and Stealth Rock damage do does a bit more damage than Regenerator can heal off. Use Hurricane cautiously, as a potential miss could spell doom (I would rephrase this to explain what a Hurricane miss actually means for Tornadus-T? Does it mean it could be KOed? "spell doom" doesn't give the reader any useful information.) for Tornadus-T.

Team Options
========

Tornadus-T appreciates U-turn and Volt Switch support to safely get it into play, so Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, Jirachi, and Mega Scizor are good picks. Teammates that can take on Electric-types, (AC) such as Tapu Koko and Thundurus, (AC) are necessary, so Tangrowth, Mega Venusaur, Amoonguss, and Landorus-T are good partners. The latter of which also sets Stealth Rock, which is very useful for securing KO's KOs. Hazard removal, while not mandatory, is well appreciated, (AC) as it reduces the amount of passive damage Tornadus-T takes, thus giving it more longevity. Some teammates that are able to fulfill this role are Tapu Fini, Starmie, and Latios, with the former two enjoying Tornadus-T's ability to beat Grass-types. Tornadus-T also works well on Rain rain teams, (AC) as it gains 100% accurate Hurricanes from Pelipper's Drizzle, making it a menace to face. Pelipper can also remove hazards with Defog and safely get Tornadus-T into play with its slow U-turn.

Other Options

Focus Blast is definitely an option over Superpower, as it also hits Rotom-W and means that Tornadus-T doesn't have to cut it's its bulk with a Naive or Hasty Nature nature (it isnt superpower itself that cuts tornadus-t's bulk). However, it gives Tornadus-T another rather inconsistent move alongisde alongside Hurricane. Z-Crystals such as Flyinium Z or and Firium Z are option options to give Tornadus-T a one time one-time nuke, (AC) to possibly break past a stubborn switch-in.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Tapu Koko, Magnezone, Rotom-W, and Thundurus are all able to sponge a hit from Tornadus-T and retaliate with their own super-effective super effective STAB attacks. Zapdos deserves a special mention, (AC) as it is one of the best answers there is to Tornadus-T in the tier, (AC) due to its decent bulk and access to recovery.

**Rock-types**: Nihilego and Tyranitar both switch-in switch in on Tornadus-T with relative ease, only fearing Superpower and their items being removed with Knock Off removing their items (otherwise this sounds ambiguous, it seems like you're saying they fear both Superpower and Knock Off removing their items). Choice Scarf Terrakion easily outpaces Tornadus-T, but it cannot safely switch-in switch in. All three can OHKO Tornadus-T with their powerful STAB moves.

**Faster Attackers**: While Tornadus-T is very fast, it is still outsped by threats such as Choice Scarf Nihilego, Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Terrakion, as well as non-Choice Scarf users such as Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Weavile, all of which can strike KO Tornadus-T down with their STAB moves.

[OVERVIEW]

Tornadus-T boasts an impressive Speed tier that puts it above a myriad of threats, such as Mega Medicham, Keldeo, and Gengar, as well as exemplary offensive stats, (AC) making it a premier offensive threat. Blessed with an incredible ability in Regenerator, Tornadus-T is also a premier offensive and defensive pivot. Its Assault Vest set checks some of the most dangerous threats in the tier, the most prominent being Gengar, a nigh-unwallable (AH) special attacker. However, Tornadus-T is not without flaws. While it Tornadus-T is fast, it is still outpaced by threats such as Tapu Koko, Greninja, and Weavile. Its best STAB option, Hurricane, has a meager 70% accuracy, (AC) which makes it a risky move to use in abandon.

Hurricane is Tornadus-T's most powerful STAB option, and while this set has no Special Attack investment, it still hits decently hard. Heat Wave is excellent coverage, (AC) as it hits Steel-types that resist Hurricane such as Jirachi, offensive Celesteela, and Magnezone. Knock Off is a reliable move without any drawbacks that allows Tornadus-T to remove items, which is especially useful against threats that rely on their item to break through it. U-turn allows Tornadus-T to function as a pivot and generate momentum. Superpower is an option that hits Tyranitar and Heatran harder than Tornadus-T's other moves, (AC) and Hidden Power Ice could be used for a reliable way to prevent Zygarde, Landorus-T, and Garchomp from setting up on Tornadus-T, (AC) which Hurricane fails to do.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment preserves Tornadus-T's fantastic Speed tier, while maximum HP gives it as much bulk as possible.

Usage Tips
========

For example, Choice Specs Keldeo can possibly KO Tornadus-T with Hydro Pump after a round of Stealth Rock damage and a bit of prior damage, so exercise caution.

Team Options
========

This set is utilized on teams that need a switch-in to special attackers such as Keldeo, Serperior, and Gengar. Teammates that form a pivoting core with Tornadus-T such as Mega Scizor, Jirachi, Tapu Koko, and Rotom-W are fine partners. The former two are also great checks to Rock-types that threaten Tornadus-T and the latter two appreciate Tornadus-T's ability to break past Grass-types such as Tangrowth and Ferrothorn.

Hurricane is Tornadus-T's most powerful STAB option and hits anything that doesn't resist it immensely hard. For example, it 2HKOes Toxapex, Tapu Fini, and physically defensive Clefable. Heat Wave is excellent coverage to hit Steel-types that resist Hurricane, like Skarmory and Magearna. Taunt prevents them from using recovery or status moves, allowing Tornadus-T to break past them.
