Ability: Light Power
is a Pre-Contributor
Name: Resilience
Existing Ability?: N
Effect: Double the Special Defense.
Niche: A Special Defense counterpart of Fur Coat, allowing Pokémon with HP of 80 or higher but with poor Defenses to actually become a Special Wall, or able to sweep without worrying about special attacks too much. Can stack well with Assault Vest.
Potential Pokemon With This Ability: Wigglytuff, Wailord, Drifblim, Hariyama, Granbull, Emboar... Well, any Pokémon with high HP but low defenses. Never the Blissey line.

Name: Gooey
Existing Ability?: Y
Effect: In addition to old effect, it will also reduce the target's Speed by one stage if the user is using a contact move.
Niche: Gooey is inefficient considering Goodra's bad Defense, so I make Gooey work whatever if the foe touched it, or if the user touched back.
Potential Pokemon With This Ability: With the Goodra line already, any potentially gooey Pokémon could use this.

Name: Focus Beam
Existing Move?: N
Category: Special
Type: Fighting
PP: 15
Effect: 90 Base Power, 100% Accuracy, have 10% chance to lower the target's Attack by one stage.
Priority: 0
Misc.: Hit all adjacent enemies.
Z-Move: 175 BP
Niche: A more accurate but less powerful Focus Blast, which allows not only useful Special STAB but also more reliable coverage.
Potential Pokemon With This Move: Any Pokémon that can learn Focus Blast.

Name: Pearl Shield
Existing Move?: N
Category: Status
Type: Psychic
PP: 10
Effect: The user is protected from most attacks made by other Pokemon during this turn. If the user managed to block an attack, it will absorb all of the Attacker's stat changes, but the user's stats will never go higher than +6 nor lower than -6. This move has a 1/X chance of being successful, where X starts at 1 and quadruples each time this move is successfully used. X resets to 1 if this move fails or if the user's last move used is not Detect, Endure, King's Shield, Protect, Quick Guard, Spiky Shield, Wide Guard or Pearl Shield. Fails if the user moves last this turn.
Priority: +4
Misc.: Moves that penetrates Protect and its variations can also penetrate this move, and its other effects will also cancel when this happens.
Z-Move: Removes all of the user's negative stat changes before using the move.
Niche: Gives more pressure to the sweeping opponent by potentially stealing the boost (unless if not appropriate stat boosts), and reckless sweeping can end badly for the player of that sweeper.
Potential Pokemon With This Move: Any Pokémon that have one or more Pearls (Clamperl line, Spoink line, Palkia) and any Pokémon that have very small round jewels.

Ludicrousity

You humour me greatly with your arrogance and c...

Okay, so the current slates are way too limited. Only allowed 2 of each category, totaling 6 overall... That's stupidly low considering the versatility of submission possibilities. So it's being changed.

You are now allowed a grand total of 4 submissions for each category, meaning you may put down ideas to your hearts content (Sorta). This will allow many more submissions to be posted. The voting will not change, however.

On another note, I'm thinking of allowing small type changes to mons that could do with it, although these would be outside of the regular subs, with 2 per slate. Gonna have to go through it with Rev, but if this gets enough positive feedback, I'm sure I could get it going.

considering how mimikyu's disguise turns it from a fairly mediocre pokemon into something worthy of the OU tier, i really doubt brittle shield is balanced.

Fair. I was thinking that at east anyone can use it, but centralisation around an item isn't good, so replaced with another of my ideas (photocopier).

Priority: 0
Misc.: It is removed when a Terrain is summoned and removes every Terrain when summoned.

tailwind being a terrain makes no sense
flying types aren't affected by them

tailwind being a terrain makes no sense
flying types aren't affected by them
That's why they have their own Terrain that isn't a Terrain

EDIT: In reality my first thought was to make it a third type of condition, because wind doesn't affect the Terrain in our world, but this would have meant that you could summon 3 conditions at the same time: weather, Terrain and Tailwind, but Tailwind now has also boosting effects. So, dunno, making it indipendent from Terrain would make sense flavour-wise, but would make the condition lose balance. What should I do in your opinion?

Reactions: Eve
Cheers Smogon for not giving me any alerts for this! I thought it was just really quiet for a while. Currently WIP
Name: Eviolith
Existing Item?: N
Effect: If holder's species can evolve, its Attack and Sp. Atk are 1.5x.
Fling BP: 40
Removable via Knock Off?: Y
Ignored by Klutz?: Y
Niche: The counterpart to Eviolite. Provides the more offensive NFEs and LC mons a more effective option, giving them an equivalent viability boost to that which Eviolite provided defensive NFEs and LC mons. (Before you say its broken, please find one mon that it would actually make a good choice in OU because I can't)
Some good Eviolith users could be Rhydon, Fraxure, Type: Null, Magneton, Gurdurr, Scyther
