HypnoEmpire

Yokatta...
[OVERVIEW]

- One of many bulky Water-types in the tier, it holds a niche of checking special attackers a lot better than its counterpart Slowbro can.
- Regenerator and great special bulk make it ideal as an AV user and enable it to check top threats such as Nidoqueen, Swellow, Salazzle, and Kommo-o well without having to take a turn to Slack Off. Also makes it excellent as a bulky pivot.

Moves
========
- Scald is Water-type STAB. It scares out Pokemon weak to Water-type moves like Rotom-H and Gligar and dissuades physical attackers like Pangoro and Sharpedo from switching in.
- Future Sight is very strong STAB that keeps Pokemon weak to Psychic-type moves such as Heracross, Nidoqueen, and Chesnaught away on the turn it lands, which a teammate can take advantage of. It can also secure a KO on a Pokemon that could otherwise take a hit from the teammate you have out at the time Future Sight lands.
- Fire Blast threatens Pokemon such as Escavalier and Shaymin while hitting some Pokemon that are not immediately threatened by Future Sight such as Venusaur and Toxicroak.
- Dragon Tail forces out Pokemon such as Snorlax, Reuniclus, and Slowbro, which could otherwise set up on Slowking. It also shuffles around the Pokemon on the opposing team, which is extremely useful with hazards up.
- Psychic could be used over Future Sight as it immediately threatens Kommo-o and does significantly more damage to Heracross, Roserade, and Chesnaught than Fire Blast does. (It OHKOes Heracross and Roserade after Stealth Rock and has a chance to OHKO Chesnaught) It also does more damage to neutral targets like Swellow and Mismagius due to higher BP.

Set Details
========
- The given HP and SpD EVs with an Assault Vest ensure that it avoids the OHKO from Salazzle's Acid Downpour from +2 after Stealth Rock and it can tank special attacks such as Kommo-O Clanging Scales and Swellow Boomburst relatively well, avoiding a 2HKO from both.
- The leftover EVs are put into SpA with a Modest nature so it can hit as hard as it can afford to. It ensures that Swellow is OHKOed most of the time by Scald after Stealth Rock and puts a bigger dent into Pokemon that might want to come in on it such as Pangoro and Shaymin.
- Regenerator is the ability of choice since it is Slowking's only access to self-recovery while holding an Assault Vest and it is much better than any of Slowking's other abilities.

Team Options
========
- Pokemon that can tank hits that Slowking is weak too are obviously good teammates. Moltres can check Grass-types and Bug-types like Shaymin, Heracross, and Escavalier. Dragons like Kommo-O, Goodra, and Dragalge can eat attacks from Grass-types and Electric-types like Venusaur and Rotom forms. Pokemon like Florges and Umbreon can take Dark-type attacks.

Other Options
=============

List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to either being not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.
