RMT of the Week
co-hosted with Snowy. and IronBullet

Want your team noticed by a lot of people? Do you want all the efforts you put into testing your team and writing up your RMT to count? This is where RMT of the Week comes in! The aim of this project is to give people who put effort into making quality RMTs the attention they deserve. There are a lot of teams out there that are well-built and presented, but often left in the dark. Not anymore!

Concept
  • Every week, we will nominate a few teams as candidates for the RMT of the Week.
  • These teams are put in a poll. Everyone can vote for the team they think is most deserving of the award.
  • At the end of the week, the winner will be the team that receives the most votes.
Prizes

So what's in it for the winners? Well, the winning team will be announced on social media. It will also be recorded in the Hall of Fame, which will be posted in the OP for each week, and people are encouraged to rate it. Winning the RMT of the Week also increases the chance of having your RMT added to the Team Showcase, subject to review, since it brings it to the notice of the staff. Finally, the winner will have an opportunity to give a brief interview.

RMT Requirements
  • Make sure your team is viable and effective: This one is self-explanatory. If your team doesn't fit into its tier or metagame, or lacks any kind of success, it won't have a high chance of being selected. It doesn't have to be archive worthy though, and it doesn't have to have peaked at #1; a moderately successful team can make it, but it has to work.
  • Your team should be well-presented: Wouldn't you enjoy posting in a thread more if it was visually appealing? If you put effort into presenting your team attractively, people will be more willing to rate it. We appreciate it when you take time to improve the quality of your RMTs, as it enhances the quality of the forum.
  • Be nice and receptive to people's opinions: No one likes to rate the team of a close-minded person!
For those whose teams are selected, don't ask anyone, be it friends or anyone else, on the forums or on PS! to vote for you. For friends of the people whose teams get selected, the same goes for you as well: please don't post the link in chat rooms to try and get people to vote.

The first time someone is caught cheating, their team will be disqualified and removed from the ongoing week. If someone is caught cheating for a second time, they will be permanently banned from the project.

We caught up with Week 30's winner Asuya to ask him a few questions about his RMT The Banned Chronicles Part 5 "Cold Water Is Inconceivable":

1. Can you give a brief description of your team? What do you think is the reason behind its success?

This team was made with the intention to be able to face any playstyle with an offensive core supported by a volturn combo and to be able to, unlike most of offensive/bulky offensive teams, tank heavy hits in the both special and physical side in order to not sack a mon everytime the momentum isn't in our favour. It works very well if it's used by people who have a great double switch skills, and this is probably the reason why I was able to peak third with it ahah. In a more serious note I think that having a lot of different strategies and ways to deal with any playstyle is the key to the success, also, in my opinion every good team that is not stall must have a volturn core consisting of at least two members, this team has it and if you have a great long term thinking skills you can easily win almost every matchup just deciding at the preview which mon will sweep in the lategame so you can prepare his job in the middlegame luring and baiting checks/counters.

2. Have you received any useful feedback for your team?

The building mechanics that led to the creation of the team did not allow major changes, in the RMT I had mostly situational tips or subjective preferences, I think that I got just one relevant feedback from a user called Zukrad who suggested me a Jolly Nature on Excadrill in order to outspeed Max Speed Heatran outside of sand as well as max speed base 80 mons. He also gave me an alternative bulky spread for my Excadrill in case I wanted to keep it Adamant. I really appreciated it.

3. Is there any advice you'd like to give to future RMT posters?

Sure. My first advice to those who want to post a team is to test it a lot before presenting it to the community, I often see people who are too lazy to find the weaknesses of their team and try to fix it, they post their squads without having them tested sufficiently hoping that someone do it for them. Being superficial in your creations does not lead you to have a good reputation on the forum. Second, don't be afraid to ask for help to anyone if you have problems with english grammar. Last thing, the forum offers many automatic controls to help you with HTML, use it correctly and have fun creating an even more appealing presentation of your team!

Thanks for taking the time to do this man, congrats again!

We also caught up with last week's winner Arii Stella to ask her some questions about her RMT marquise diamond:

1. Can you give a brief description of your team? What do you think is the reason behind its success?

My ''marquise diamond'' is a solid Ubers balance with Mega Diancie; the team covers most of the common threats that exist in the actual metagame; threats such as Xerneas, Mega Salamence, Groudon-Primal etc. Regarding the offensive side of the team, Its offensive Pokemon aim to find the perfect moment to attack or sweep as late game cleaners. I personally think the main reason of its effectivness in the current meta is the balance between offensiveness and defensiveness. This allows the player to play safely in a comfortable and fun way.

2. Have you received any useful feedback for your team?

Yup, I've received a couple of good suggestions in terms of EVs modifications for Arceus-Dragon and moves for Groudon-Primal which was pretty cool since nobody tried to change the synergy of my team. These small changes have helped improving my team, thanks everyone!

3. Is there any advice you'd like to give to future RMT posters?

Sure! If you really want to share a team for this community make sure that it is a good one, test it a bit on the ladder, tours and with your friends. This helps you to improve and explain the team more in detail. Take your time with the posts design (searching sprites, gifs etc. Tumblr is great img source btw) be creative and pleasing to look at, noticeable and interesting to readers. Every effort has its rewards. n_n

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions and congrats again!
