Welcome to Rate of the Month! This is a project that looks to bring quality individual rates into the spotlight and recognize the hard work of unbadged raters. Here's how it will work:

• Every month, official Team Raters will be paying close attention to the RMT forum and reading the rates posted in their respective tiers.
• A few will be chosen which most exemplify the qualities of an excellent rate.
• These rates will be posted in this thread, along with a paragraph explaining how and why the particular rate won. This will allow aspiring raters to gain an idea of what constitutes high-quality rates, and hopefully incorporate those aspects into their own rates.
• Official Team Raters are eligible to win, but unbadged raters will have priority.

So what's in it for the winners? Well, they will earn a place in the Hall of Fame, which will be kept in the OP of every thread, and will earn more consideration for the Ladybug

and Team Rater

badges. Also, after gaining three places in the Hall of Fame, a rater will be eligible to earn voice status in the RMT room on PS! on the condition that they've shown an interest in getting involved.

We hope that this project will encourage people to put more effort into their rates and become better and more experienced raters, which will increase the quality as well as quantity of rates in the forum. Good luck to you all!

January - vsomani, Simia (SM OU)

hello all, (finally) we have some winners for the last month!

The first rate of the month winner is vsomani, he did a very cool and detailed rate. He started replacing dragonite with defensive landorus-t, which provides stealth rocks, also is a very solid defensive pivot able to check physical threats such as zygarde, mega charizard x and tyranitar. Landorus also complete a very strong volturn core which is able to bring charizard y and tyranitar safely in the field.

After that, vsomani replaced greninja with tapu koko, which is able to break past toxapex, one of the best charizard y's answers after arena trap ban. koko is also a very cool flying check for the likes of mega Pinsir, hawlucha and tornadus therian, he suggested a cm fairium + hidden power fire variant which is able to break through Zygarde and landorus t after a calm mid boost.

Finally he suggested to try aqua tail over fire punch on tyranitar, which improves the match up against stall teams that relies on hippowdon as choice banded Tyranitar check. At last he suggested to run max special defense on assault vest magearna to take more hits as possible by strong special attackers the likes of choice specs ash greninja, tapu lele and tapu koko.


The second rate of the month winner is Simia , he did a beautiful and detailed rate. He started mentioning that Zapdos was a huge threat for the team, especially for the hawlucha, he also mentioned the lacks of speed control, which is very important for an offensive team to handle fast threats. Simia suggested to replace kartana with clefable, calm mind stealth rocks clefable is a very cool answer for zapdos, it also able to set up rocks against Sableye stall, which hawlucha can't break past easily.

After the addition of Clefable, simia suggested bulky scarf landorus which provides speed control for the team and it is able to check some hawlucha's threats such as mega Pinsir and tapu koko, finally it provides hazard removal with defog.

At last, he suggested to replace life orb magnezone with Stellium z, z-flash cannon can be very helpful to remove key threats that stop hawlucha's sweep like landorus-t. Simia also suggested a second option, choice scarf magnezone, which improves the match up against swords dance kartana and mega Pinsir.
