SM OU Rate my team please

Introduction

I have had minimal success in the current OU meta and I don’t have the best competitive knowledge. I have been trying to create teams to see which one works, and this one seems to be the best by far.
I wanted to make a team around scizor and things that could deal with Pokemon that I tend to struggle with (namely ash gren, naganadel, landorus). So I decided to start with Mega Scizor and work from there.

The Squad

Red Lobster (Scizor-Mega) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
This set seems to work the best for me with superpower for coverage, swords dance for boosted punching power, u-turn for momentum, and bullet punch for priority. I mainly use this for pivoting momentum and damage on threats such as heatran, Tapu Bulu, (if boosted) Tapu Koko, and Naganadel. The main problem this set has is no recovery, but it makes up for it slightly in coverage. The main walls to this are skarmory, toxapex, and unaware physical defensive clef with a fire move.

Strong Jaw (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Earth Power
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
This set is here mainly to deal with Naganadel. With protect, I can make an opposing Naganadel whif a dragonium z Draco Meteor and wall it out even if it is at plus 2. I also scare it out with earth power and can eat up any fire move that would be targeting Scizor. This help deals with scizor’s only weakness, as well as give me something to deal with skarmory and toxapex to a lesser extent.

Tyranitar @ Rockium Z
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Stone Edge
With Ice Punch for landorus, garchomp, and Zygarde, Earthquake for Magearna, Bisharp, and Magnezone, and Stone Edge for stab, Tyranitar is my main way to set up and do big damage. While this usually can’t sweep full teams, if set up it can punch a few holes and allow my other Pokémon to clean up.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
This is my main way to deal with landorus, without stone edge. Heat wave deals damage to ferrothorn, scizor, and deals decent damage to landorus, all while providing a chance to burn. This is also my way to get rid of hazards.

Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Surf
- Moonblast
- Ice Beam
- Protect
This is another answer to landorus and ash greninja. It’s main purpose is to set up misty terrain for the rest of the team, scout out sets, and deal with landorus and ash greninja. This can also do decent neutral damage to opposing pokemon.

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Poison Jab
- Stealth Rock
If you set the field for it, Garchomp can often come in and clean up by either spamming dragon claw or Earthquake. Poison Jab is for the tapu and clef.

Conclusion

Please feel free to use the team and provide feed back on how you feel the team performed and potential changes you would make.

Hey. Nice team. I want to suggest a few changes though.

485.png
Heatran @ Groundium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Toxic
- Taunt

I think a stall breaker heatran is the best set for this team, which kinda struggles with stall. I understand using sp def. For Naganadel, but with all the Tyranitars being used, heatran is probably going to get trapped and worn down easily.

248.png
Tyranitar (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 24 Atk / 236 SpD
Brave Nature
- Stone Edge
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Pursuit

This is probably the best counter for Naganadel in the meta right now.

+2 252 SpA Naganadel Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 248 HP / 236 SpD Assault Vest Tyranitar in Sand: 223-264 (55.3 - 65.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Being able to pursuit trap or Earthquake to severly weaken/OHKO is why AV Tyranitar is everywhere right now.

I hope these suggestions are helpful :]

Cool team.
- Thunderbolt -> Discharge on zapdos. The 30% para chance gives zapdos a very nice tool to cripple scarfers and offensive threats in general.
Although it isn't a very common lando t set (at least in the current meta-game) your team pretty much loses to an SD lando-t.

+2 252 Atk Landorus-Therian Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zapdos: 378-446 (98.4 - 116.1%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Landorus-Therian Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zapdos: 340-402 (88.5 - 104.6%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
Zapdos calcs ^

+2 252 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Fini: 313-370 (91.2 - 107.8%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
+2 252 Atk Landorus-Therian Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Fini: 377-444 (109.9 - 129.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Fini calcs ^

+2 252 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 370-436 (103.6 - 122.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Garchomp Dragon Claw vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Landorus-Therian: 144-169 (45.1 - 52.9%) -- 28.1% chance to 2HKO
Garchomp calcs ^

And yes,
+2 252 Atk Landorus-Therian Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Scizor-Mega: 317-374 (112.4 - 132.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Scizor-Mega: 264-312 (93.6 - 110.6%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Landorus-Therian: 118-141 (36.9 - 44.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Scizor calcs ^

For this weakness, I recommend changing your scizor set to a more defensive SD spread.
This helps it deal with offensive lando better.
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 64 Atk / 120 Def / 16 SpD / 60 Spe

- Roost

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 64 Atk / 120 Def / 16 SpD / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Roost
I thought about discharge on zapdos, but that could be ruined with Fini. So I decided Thunderbolt for a little bit more damage

Makes sense. I think it might be worth considering for a threat like scarf lele that sets its own terrain. It depends on what you find in your playtesting. This is a very solid team, but the weakness to offensive lando is pretty huge. I hope your playtesting goes well and you fine tune your team :].
