LOL! I forgot AGAIN!

I'm great at running threads like this.

The winner for this week is Take Azelfie and his Jumpluff submission! Congrats to him! Megazard is the runner up with his Monferno submission, so grats to him too! These will be added to the archive.

This week's mon is...

Muk @ Choice Band
Ability: Poison Touch / Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Shadow Sneak
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch

Curse Muk has been gaining a lot of popularity in this meta. As a result, some of Muk's other sets are being shunned. However, Choice Band Muk is an extremely potent threat in this meta and should not be ignored.

For the sake of not choosing obvious pairings, Probopass and Trapinch are not allowed this week. Other than that, go wild!

Submissions end Thursday.

Cacturne @ Life Orb
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Energy Ball
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Sucker Punch

Fantastic partner that has seen plenty of use alongside Muk for its ability to both deal with most Muk checks/counters (Golem, Metang, Psychic-types) and abuse the support Muk brings (beats Clef and Vullaby, general wallbreaking).

Murkrow @ Life Orb
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sucker Punch
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Muk & Murkrow share similar checks. Muk can weaken Murkrow's checks, ie; Metang, Mawile, Probopass, Golem; and Murkrow does the same for Muk. They also share decent defensive synergy with one another - with Murkrow being immune to both Muk's weaknesses and Muk easily being able to take coverage moves aimed at Murkrow.

Monferno @ Eviolite
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Mach Punch

Monferno is an excellent partner alongside Muk because, it synergizes well being able to check and provide offense presence vs Steels, which obstruct Muk from setting up Curse.

Bronzor @ Eviolite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psywave
- Rest
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock

Bronzor is a great partner for Muk as it switches in on and beats a lot of Steel and Ground types in the tier including Golem, Probopass and Metang. Also if Muk runs Sticky Hold it can absorb weaker Knock Offs for Bronzor as it hates getting it's Eviolite removed. Lastly Bronzor can set up Stealth Rock for Muk to help it wallbreak.

Politoed @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power Electric
- Encore

Politoed is a nice offensive partner to Muk. Politoed deals, to a certain degree, with Ground types (Golem, Camerupt, Vibrava), Rock types (Solrock, Armaldo, Crustle), and it can act as a decently good switch in to common Steel type checks such as Mawile and Metang. In return, Muk is able to check common Grass answers to Politoed such as Roselia, Leafeon and Tangela that Politoed struggles with. Also, Politoed is able to check a lot of set-up sweepers that take advantage of Muk's "choiced" state with Encore such as CroMuk and Duosion.

Floatzel @ Life Orb
Ability: Water Veil
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 1 Atk / 30 SpA
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Taunt
Special Floatzel makes for a perfect partner for CB Muk as it kills or puts them in range of Muks coverage moves. Muk also can come in on most of Special Floatzel's checks and counters mainly being grass types such as Roselia and Non EQ Gogoat, but other stuff such as Clefairy and Lumineon and killing or crippling them. Muk basically breaks most teams for Floatzel as Floatzel elimnates stuff like Stunfisk,Golem, and Probopass. While Muk breaks teams for a faster; Floatzel to sweep,

Hey, as many of you I'm American and so this has been a pretty stressful few weeks for me. I got no sleep last night. In addition I've been pretty busy.

Vote for two, voting ends Sunday.

The winner of these weeks is 5gen's Cacturne, and the runner-up is iRebel's Floatzel. Congrats to both of them! Will be added to archive.

This will be the last one before we go on a short break for Sun and Moon! I won't be playing the games but I'm sure you guys will be busy :>

we will NOT be looking at one of the new drops; instead, we will be looking at a mon that has proved itself an effective breaker in this tier:

Pawniard @ Eviolite
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance

Pawniard's powerful Knock Off and priority in Sucker Punch, ability to sweep in Swords Dance, and ability in Defiant make it a staple in the PU metagame. However, with bulky offense teams trending right now, Pawniard is becoming less popular (imo). What will you pair with this powerful mon?

Submissions for partners end Thursday.

Grumpig @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Thunder Wave

Grumpig is a great partner for Pawniard because it is able to check common Fighting and Fire types such as Rapidash, Combusken and Monferno. Grumpig also can cripple faster Pokemon with Thunder Wave (special Floatzel, Mr. Mime) or and it can potentially come in on a weaker Knock Off so Pawniard retain's its Eviolite due to Colbur Berry. In return, Pawniard is able to check Ghost and Dark types and also Calm Mind mons (Clefairy and Duosion) that can take advantage of Grumpig to set up.

Gabite @ Eviolite
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 80 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

Gabite makes a good partner for Pawniard as it: checks annoying things that Pawniard dislikes (ie; Monferno); weakens Pawniards checks & counters; provides rock support; provides passive chip damage with rough skin. Pawniard in turn functions as an ok ice resist for Gabite and can clean well after Gabite has worn down things with rough skin / EQ / toxic etc. Pawn also helps discourage defoggers ensuring Gabite can keep rocks up.

Because there's not a lot of interest this week and SuMo is out, I'm deciding to give this thread a break. It might come back while we're waiting for SuMo PU, but I'm not sure, so don't expect anything. Thank you to all for your submissions, and expect at least a two week break if this comes back. You guys are great :)
