Autosteela is the only viable one aside from EQ, which is more a lure than an alternative set.

I vote for band celesteela.

But let me be clear no celesteela set is viable without the moves heavy slam, flamethrower, leech seed and protect with EV's only in HP and defenses even LL's set is trash njnp webs are garbage if you're gonna use an offensive steel just use sg mag

This Magearna set is really neat because it addresses the problem that most sets with Fleur + Focus traditionally have, being walled by Toxapex while also hitting Mega Venusaur for insane damage. This is a really cool tech that was used back in snake and I hope that it manages to pull out a surprise win sometime this SPL. Being able to take down the Poison-types that usually murder you is really cool and an awesome tech. I've provided a couple of calcs below to show how effective this set is.

252+ SpA Magearna Shattered Psyche (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 256-302 (84.2 - 99.3%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Magearna Shattered Psyche (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega: 310-366 (85.3 - 100.8%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Offensive Pivot

Magearna @ Life Orb
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 24 SpD
Modest Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Fleur Cannon
- Hidden Power Fire / Focus Blast
- Volt Switch / Thunderbolt

A set that I used to run as Celebi back in the days, but Magearna has what it takes to pull it off as well. The premise is that you are still tanky enough with just HP investment, so you can still check many of the stuff you would normally check, then just click Thunder Wave or Fleur Cannon depending on the match-up. Not many threats can actually claim to be able to switch into a TWave and still win the match-up.

Due to the sheer power of LO Modest 252 Fleur Cannon, a lot of would-be-safe switch-ins now actually lose to Magearna.
  • Your classic neutral switch-ins like defensive LandoT, Zapdos are outright OHKO-ed by the sheer power of Fleur Cannon, while stuff like AV Bulu still die in 2 turns to HP Fire into Fleur Cannon.
  • Steel types like SpDTran takes upwards of 82% from FBlast, and Ferro/Scizor just get OHKO-ed outright; Scizor literally dies to HP Fire even if it switches into Fleur Cannon.
  • Volt Switch does at least half to Toxapex, while Thunderbolt into Fleur Cannon always 2HKOs Toxa, meaning that if you catch Toxa on the switch with Tbolt, you can just throw a Fleur Cannon without fearing 50/50s of Toxa switching out or using Recover.
Then depending on whether you are just dropping bombs or killed something, you are either at -2 or -1, but thanks to TWave, you are still not set-up bait, so you can just TWave and preserve momentum. 232 HP rounds down LO recoil, and everything is straightforward. Pain Split is a possible option for longevity as well, or just get Wish support.
Zapdos

Offensive Pain Split

Magearna @ Life Orb
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Pain Split
- Aura Sphere
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

General idea:
We don't have Recover to recharge our HP, but Pain Split can be still valuable to make good use of our uninvested base 80 HP and the recoil of the LO. The general idea is to have a more offensive oriented Magearna than the usual one. With this speedish version of Magearna you can outspeed something towards bulky teams, KOing some altready-weak pokemons before being hit.
Otherwise, you can punish some attacker faster than you cutting its HP while regaining some of yours towards HO teams even twice in order to have more LO uses while dealing some chip damage in the process.

Moveset and item:
BoltBeam coverage is here for neutral coverage.
A LOrbed Aura Sphere is picked over an itemless Focus Blast for reliability only (it is still almost a 2HKO on Ferrothorn thanks to the LO) with a power drop of 6%-9%.
A Life Orb is required to make up for the loss in power.
No STABs because Fleur Cannon has a bad downside on a pokemon that likes stacking SpA boosts and Ground types are already weak (even 4x) to Ice Beam coverage. Flash Cannon is STABbed, but I find it underwhelming in terms of coverage.

252 SpA Life Orb Magearna Aura Sphere vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 174-205 (49.4 - 58.2%) -- 62.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

EVs (spread) and team(mates):
This is a basic offensive spread, plus a Timid nature to be as fast as possible. Still, Spe control is appreciated in the form of Thunder Wave or Glare (in order to hit Ground types) when you are facing HO teams.

Heal Bell Magearna

Magearna @ Leftovers
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Fleur Cannon
- Heal Bell
- Pain Split
- Volt Switch

This Magearna fits on bulky offense or balance teams that need both a bulky pivot and heal bell. It is rather self explanatory, using its good bulk and the threat of its great coverage moves and powerful fleur cannons to force switches, and then heal bells on them. If your team is not currently statused, then you can utilize volt switch to gain momentum, fleur cannon to deal a reasonable amount of damage or pain split to heal mage if your opponent has a healthy switch in. A more offensive set could also be used, sacrificing some bulk for SpA and using a coverage move such as ice beam over pain split, although this significantly reduces the longevity of Magearna. Bulu makes a particularly good partner for this set, with grassy terrain further boosting recovery and weakening EQs (although you don't want to stay in on most EQ users unless they're Latios, MVenu or another Heatran lure), while bulu benefits from heal bell as it is rather easy to hit with a status move to cripple it.

I think a version of this may have been used wayyy back in early S/M, but this thing can be nigh unkillable after just a couple turns of set up. The point of this set is to get in, boost at your leisure, patch up your health with Pain Split, and then start mowing down the competition. I've gone with a physically defensive spread to ease the pressure put on by faster Ground types. I think Flash Cannon is better STAB for this set since it can break Unaware Clef with it and can also get some clutch special defense drops, but DGleam gives you an easier time against Waters and Dragons. Iron Defense makes this thing unkillable after a couple turns, and the utility of Heal Bell can't be understated. Keep in mind that Mag is only vulnerable to burns, which can be mitigated by Pain Split. Be careful with Pain Split PP since beating stall with this also means outlasting stall.

This set could probably work on a kind of hyper offense team. Magearna's natural bulk allows it to set up screens against a decent amount of things.

Volt Switch is great for momentum after setting up screens.

The last slot can vary, Heal Bell is nice if you keep Magearna healthy and want to heal the team. Ice Beam hits Landorus if you wanna try and eliminate it early. Pain Split keeps Magearna healthy to an extent which makes it different from other screen setters even if it isn't super reliable.

Looked at the moveset for any random moves, and I think I found one

Magearna @ Leftovers/Electrium Z
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Heart Swap
- Fleur Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast/HP Fire

Idea is pretty simple. You fleur cannon, then give your opponent -2 SpA, and steal any sort of boosts they accumulate. This can be especially dangerous, because many people will set up in the face of a -2 Magearna, which they believe poses no immediate threat. This set works well vs Calm Mind and Shift gear Magearna variants (and all calm mind mons tbh). Lures Volcaronas who think they can set up for free.

I noticed I probably can't finish my Specs Magearna submission so I'll remove the reserve.
Hehe, well since he couldn't finish his choice specs post and got rid of the reservation. I guess it's my solem duty to take advantage of this

Magearna @ Choice Specs
Ability: Soul Heart
EVs: 252 SpA/ 4 Spd/ 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Fleur Cannon
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt/ Explosion

The premise behind this is simple. You come on in, fire off a ridiculously strong move, gain special attack boosts thanks to soul heart and keep on snowballing. This set is also pretty effective at luring pokemon who would normally be expecting an assault vest, and then hitting them hard and even possibly OHkO-ing them. Fleur Cannon is a surprsingly spammable nuke move. Volt Switch is great for pivoting out while also provding decent damage, Focus Blast is to round out coverage, and the choice between thunderbolt and explosion choice between having a surprise nuke move that can damage enemies and leave them vulnerable for other pokemon in your team to clean up, or doing decent damage to Toxapex

Time to vote! lots of cool sets :o
