Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power Ice
- U-turn / Toxic

Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy / Calm Nature
- Fleur Cannon
- Iron Head / Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power Fire
- Volt Switch

What Pokemon can threaten this core? post them down below.

The deadline will be due February the 12th.

Heatran @ Firium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt

Generally most bulky Offense teams with this core don’t like switching into heatran. Magearna doesn’t want to take a magma storm and lando takes a ton from firium. Heatran Can also get up rocks on magearna and put lando in range of overdrive later on.

Medicham-Mega @ Medichamite
Adamant Nature
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt

252+ Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega High Jump Kick vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Magearna: 345-406 (95 - 111.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
-1 252+ Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-Therian: 312-368 (81.6 - 96.3%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-Therian: 468-552 (122.5 - 144.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Threatens them easily and at the worst can take atleast one hit from them except fleur cannon

oml Landorus breaks another core !
Here too both Offensive and Defensive Landorus can give trouble to the core:

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Fly
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish / Stealth rock

Offensive Landorus forces magearna out / lives a fleur cannon and Sword dances to Kill Lando after rocks (or it can still risk the 30% to kill it) or can just OHKO magearna with EQ, It also Lives a hidden power ice from Lando and can setup on it too

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers / Rocky helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 24 SpD / 16 Spe
Serious Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stealth Rock

Defensive Lando can cripple Magearna with EQ doing a solid 72 - 85 and try to win the last tie vs Landorus to win the 1v1 also trying to predict the Switch in lando and doing hp ice is not really risky as no one should stay with AV magearna vs lando, u could give it more speed evs and not risk the tie but that's up to u (also most lando I'm seeing now runs more speed)

Reserving Celesteela

omg shiny's so beautiful

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 104 Def / 156 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower

Yeah, I like defensive counters. Celesteela completly walls them, the hardest hitting moves being Volt Switch which forces out the Mag and HP Fire, but since it has no recovery, Magearna prefers not to take an Heavy Slam. Leech Seed is completly an absurd ennemy for the core, as it can cripple VoltTurn stuff or force out a mon. Plus, it increases the capacity of Celesteela to wall these things, as Volt Switch for Magearna is a 5HKO and HP Fire a possible 7HKO when Leech Seed is up.

One other defensive answer in this thread : Check.

reserving Mega Gyarados

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Earthquake

Mega Gyarados is able to set up on Lando-t if it’s not toxic pre mega evolutions. Gyarados at +2 will OHKO Lando-T and Magearna both. Playing around Mega Gyarados will be a hassle for the core depending when it mega evolves.

Reserving Mamoswine
1518108440612.png

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

Thanks to a stellar offensive typing, Mamoswine can effectively threaten this core with a stab move for both of these pokemons. Not much can be said about Mamoswine, except for the fact that Mamoswine can't switch in on Flash Cannon, but can switch in on anything else of Magearna's and can then precede to threaten this core.

-1 252 Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-Therian: 380-452 (99.4 - 118.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Magearna: 377-447 (103.8 - 123.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

reserving swampert

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Rain Dance / Stealth Rock

Mega Pert's good bulk and exceptional defensive Typing allow it to switch into Magearna quite well, as Fleur Cannon is the only move that's close to pressuring it, while threatening to OKHO it with Earthquake with a stunning 81.3% chance, which increases to 100% after almost any chip damage. Landorus, while being immune to earthquake, is not a safe switch in either, as it is weak to both Waterfall and Ice punch. Rain obviously allows Swampert to chunk Lando and Magearna even more, but it is not necessarily needed as Swampert is faster even outside of rain and 2HKOes without boosted water attacks thanks to it's access to Ice Punch for Landorus and STAB Earthquake for Magearna. Nonetheless, rain is nice to have, as it is punching whole into both of their HP bars.

0 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Swampert-Mega: 136-162 (39.8 - 47.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
8 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Swampert-Mega: 163-193 (47.8 - 56.5%) -- 86.7% chance to 2HKO

-1 252+ Atk Swampert-Mega Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-Therian: 208-248 (54.4 - 64.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
-1 252+ Atk Swampert Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-Therian in Rain: 200-236 (52.3 - 61.7%) -- 96.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Swampert-Mega Waterfall vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Magearna in Rain: 213-252 (58.6 - 69.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Swampert-Mega Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Magearna: 356-420 (98 - 115.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Reserving AV Tangrowth.
1518128053483.png

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 28 Def / 232 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Giga Drain
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Knock Off
Tangrowth can easily switch into both members of this core and threaten to 3HKO MAgearna with Earthquake and 2HKO Landorus with Hidden Power Ice.

Volcanion @ Metronome / Groundium Z
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Steam Eruption
- Flamethrower
- Earth Power
- Substitute

Volcanion is able to serve as a solid stop to this core due to its high firepower and good STAB combo; Flamethrower is admittedly kinda pathetic versus AV Magearna due to its low BP and Mage’s insane special bulk, but it still puts a pretty severe dent into it, and it’s gonna be worn down from switching in on Spikes and other attacks to the point that Volting for the damage on Volc is gonna be a dodgey business anyway. Metronome is nice on this mon and is my item of choice when I can’t fit Groundium onto it ‘cuz being stalemated by Toxapex is just sad, and with Metronome it’s put into a position where it can’t function as a defensive answer to this thing at all; it’s also just generally nice to have when spamming Steam eruption ‘cuz getting a nice 20% boost on consecutive turns without getting locked or worn down is real nice for a ‘mon like Volcanion which is so easy to fuck with when locked while working together nicely with Sub.

I kind of disagree with Tangrowth, if landorus has Flyinium Z, it takes out Tangrowth with ease, not to mention in most cases you don't want to get hit by knock off losing your vest.

I vote for Ferrothorn, can tank both landorus t and Magearna, and live through Flyinium Z

Blacephalon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Overheat
- Trick

Because of how damn frail Blacephalon is it's fairly risky to switch it into this core. Lando's EQ is a clean OHKO and Magearna's Fleur Cannon has a chance of 2hkoing (guarantee 2hko after rocks) so Blacephalon can only switch into Fleur Cannon once safely.Although, because of its typing Blacephalon doesn't care too much about any of the other moves Magearna and Lando have.

Once Blacephalon is in it poses a huge threat to this core because of its very high special attack stat being boosted by specs and Blacephalon's access to high BP fire moves:

252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Magearna: 264-312 (72.7 - 85.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Overheat vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Magearna: 312-368 (85.9 - 101.3%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

Magearna takes severe damage from Blace's fire STAB and provided rocks aren't up it cannot 2hko Blace in return (with very high rolls it can 2hko Blace with Fleur Cannon after rocks and the special attack drop)

Meanwhile Lando-T is even worse off because of its inferior special bulk compared to Magearna:

252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 24 SpD Landorus-Therian: 351-414 (91.8 - 108.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Overheat vs. 252 HP / 24 SpD Landorus-Therian: 415-489 (108.6 - 128%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Additionally, if Blacephalon ko's one member of the core with Fire Blast and obtains the Beast Boost it is guaranteed to OHKO the other member, provided the move doesn't miss.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 156 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Hidden Power Fire

> fortunately due to its annoying bulk and leech seed lando and mag are not able to break through venusaur and they get stalled, and while lando may be able to chip away at venu with eq but, with leech seed and synthesis lando can't break through venusaur and mag cant do anything. since mag has no recovery due to it being av it gets stalled by leech seed alone.

> 0 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 117-138 (32.2 - 38%) -- 60.3% chance to 4HKO after Leech Seed recovery
8 SpA Magearna Flash Cannon vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega: 75-88 (20.6 - 24.2%) -- possible 8HKO after Leech Seed recovery
