What is this?
Monotype Events is a private room on PS!, and as it's name indicates it's a sub branch of the main Monotype room where we host various Monotype related events and projects, leagues are also welcome to do League vs League in the room. The room is open to anyone that wishes to join, but there will always a modchat turned on to filter some bad users, if you want to participate you can ask any Moderator (@) or above to voice you. A Moderator (@) or up have the right to take away your room voice if you act stupid or abuse commands, please follow PS! rules.

What does auth. positions in the room mean?
# - Monotype Room Owners and projects leaders, they approve projects or events and host them if they want to: Acast, Bondie, Dream Eater Gengar, scpinion.
@ - Monotype Room Staff, they host projects or events, and moderate the chat.
% - They are projects or events hosts, or the owner of a well defined league that are in charge of controlling their members.
+ - Users that are allowed to talk in the room, you need to be voiced to be able to participate, PM a Moderator (@) or up to be voiced.

What are the events and projects hosted?
Community Create a Team (CCAT): The host picks a Monotype tier, can be ORAS or any other Mono OM. The host will be the topic leader he will pick out the Pokemon or the core, the type that are the subject of team building, he can also make a poll that will allow the community to decide. After the subject has been picked, the users will build a team step by step picking the Pokemon to go alongside.

Monothreat Monthly Championship: Type Expert is the introduction of the Monothreat Monthly transferring from most side servers to the main server for recognition into MPL. Unlike the Monothreat Monthly, where there were three consequent Monothreat Tournaments, there will be 1 Monothreat Tournament on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday respectively for 6 weeks within the newly acquired Monotype Events Room! The Monothreat Tournaments will start ~6PM EST after the OM Tournament has finished. Each participant will have the whole week leading up to the Monothreat to make and perfect their teams. There will be not Team Scouting but Team Switching and Team Editing are allowed.

First Place - 5 points / Second Place - 3 points / Third Places - 1 Point each
* Monothreat Type Schedule and Player Score Sheet
* Tournament Organizers: Misaka Mikoto and Ticktick (Ticken)

League vs League: Standard LVL format of 5v5 or 3v3 depending on what you choose. Staff member must be online to watch and the LVL will be done automatically by the Bot.
scp edit: The League Bot is currently offline. If leagues are interested in restarting the LvLs in the events room pm scpinion.

What's Next?: If you have an idea PM one of the Room Owners (#) about it.

Mega Alakazam Psychic Workshop

Hey all, this is my first workshop here. The community decided to make a Psychic team around Mega Alakazam (through a poll). Being a very underused mega evolution, generally outclassed by Mega Medicham and Mega Gardevoir, it was definitely an interesting Pokemon to build around. Jirachi was added first because of its typing, providing a fairy-type resist, its decently high bulk, Stealth Rock, and access to Wish. Slowbro checks most fire-type Pokemon for Jirachi as well as most physically offensive Pokemon while Victini takes the choice scarf slot and make the matchup vs Bug a lot easier. The community chose Starmie as the hazard remover with access to Rapid Spin and Gardevoir took the last slot because of its fast fairy-type coverage to ease the matchup vs dark.

Its Tacoman was the winner of the Champion Tournament on Friday 29/07/2016 with Steel. That means he's the #1 Contender for Steel Champion and he's going to battle Guardian Neb in a best of 3 series to decide the Champion.

Edit: Since these happen three days in a row, I won't be announcing the winners after every Champions Tournament, instead I'll just edit my original post with the list of champions.

Hosted a CAP CCAT yesterday but couldn't post since Smogon was down. We decided that we wanted to build around Kitsunoh on a Steel team reminiscing the past with that exclusive Steel-type teams immunity core. We decided to build Balanced steel and opted for Offensive Kitsunoh instead of Defensive due to its lack of recovery and its speed tiers which allows it to pick off on some threats. Heatran was the second member of the immunity core allowing us to sponge Fire-type attacks and set up Stealth Rock that's why we decided to go with Spdf Heatran. Skarmory was the third member of the immunity core it also gave us more hazard with Spikes, we also decided to not use Defog as the team didn't really struggle about common hazards such as Stealth Rock. Ferrothorn was added to ease both Ground- and Water-type matchup with double STAB and Leech Seed. We then, decided to add Naviathan which further helps against various matchups notably Fire- thanks to Heat Proof, Flying-, Steel-, and Bug-type teams with its Calm Mind set. As last Pokemon we were either going to add Bisharp or Mega Scizor but opted to go with Mega Scizor as it is generally better on balance and we went with a bulky spreed.

Thanks to everyone that participated, shoutout to: Wanka, Clearly, terrors, Oberyn, Lord North, Rage.Spam.Quit.

This team is a result of a CCAT I hosted in which we built a Ground team around Zygarde, a Pokemon that is generally quite under used in Ground monotypes. The first thing we decided upon was the Zygarde set, which ended up being DD + 3 attacks, using Lum Berry. This set is to allow it to set up against opponents that would be trying to status you through Scald or Will-o-Wisp using Lum Berry, and then proceed to sweep due to the Attack and Speed boost. This sweeping ability is also helped by Zygarde's high natural bulk, allowing it to set up a Dragon Dance against a majority of foes. After we had decided the Zygarde set, the decision was made that we should be using a Sandstorm team as opposed to using a no-sand team and having the option to try out different Pokemon. Thus, Hippowdown and Excadrill were added to act as the Sandstorm setter and sweeper, respectively. Once we had decided to utilize sand, we had to decide if we were going to use a mega or not. This was determined by a poll which ended firmly in favor of using Mega Camerupt. The moveset Camerupt is using is to allow it to check some of Ground's biggest threats in Mega Charizard-Y, Volcarona, and also Scizor. It achieves this with Rock Slide and Fire Blast. Mega Camerupt also provided the team with a powerful special wallbreaker, and strong Fire-type STAB that would help us in the Grass-type matchup. With these 4, it was noticed that we were weak to Water-types, and more specifically, Azumarill. To patch up this weakness we added Choice Specs Seismitoad. Seismitoad helps in this regard because it has Water Absorb to make it a switchin to Water-type attacks, and Sludge Wave which allows it to 1HKO Azumarill after it uses Belly Drum, whilst also being immune to its priority in Aqua Jet allowing it to either revenge kill, or switch in with the correct predictions. It also helps with the Water matchup due to access to Grass Knot and its powerful Ground-type STAB in Earth Power. Choice Specs was necessary on this set as it allowed Seismitoad to beat Azumarill after Belly Drum, which other items did not achieve. The final Pokemon on this team was contested, with the choices being mainly split into Mamoswine or Landorus-I. Ultimately Mamoswine was chosen, as it lessened the team's Ice weakness, and provided us with Ice coverage which helps against both Flying- and Grass-types.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this CCAT in the chat!

I decided to host first ever past gen teambuilding session and it was a success. The type we built around was Steel a good type in DPP. We started with the lead since a lead can't be selected in DPP. Bronzong was the lead of Choice being very bulky and having Stealth Rocks and Explosion. We then decided to add two "staples" on Steel teams being Heatran and Skarmory. Heatran set was very hard to come up with due ot the fact that Heatran is a commonly seen as Stealth Rocker. Choice Scarf to check fast threats. We decided on Fire Blast over Overheat so Heatran is not forced out after it uses its Fire Stab. On Skarmroy we decided to go with a physical wall with Spikes because of lack of reliable hazard removal in DPP Monotype. Keen Eye is used over Sturdy because this was before sturdy got a buff in generation 5. After adding two of best Pokemon on Steel we needed a Physical attacker to pressure Special Walls. We went with a Choice Banded Scizor. We Max HP is used over Max Speed so Scizor can get of Slow U-turns. It also servers as a trapper for Pokemon like Rotom-W(which is Ghost regardless on form it is in) Starmie, and Gengar. Looking at the team Scizor can't get past Steel types and Magnezone is able to trap Steel types most notably Skarmory. the 40 Attack EVs are used so Explosion is a bit more powerful so it can OHKO certain threats. Hidden Power grass is used for Bulky Ground types such as Swampert. The last Pokemon we decided to use was a sweeper to take advantage of the support given from Spikes and trapping Bulky Pokemon was the infamous Substitute Petaya Berry set. The 12 HP EVs enable Empoleon to use it's Petaya Berry after 3 substitutes. This set enables the team to sweep Fire and Ground two of Steel's weakness. The team as a whole has multiple great matchups but one hole that couldn't be fixed was against a Fighting Team containing both Blaziken and Infernape.
Special Thanks to: Paleo terrors StarBlim Zyo Aehzo and Cracticus for participating

This team was built during a CCAT session with builders from the Monotype Workshop taking requests from the community, and Mega Sceptile Grass was one. This team was built yesterday but I didn't get to post it until now. The first Pokemon on this team is obviously Mega Sceptile. We decided to go with an all-out attacker set because its coverage is pretty good and it also has Rock Slide for Mega Charizard Y and Flying-types in general such as Zapdos. The next two Pokemon we added are Ferrothorn and Cradily as the defensive core of this team. Both carry hazards, Spikes on Ferrothorn, and Stealth Rock on Cradily. They both also carry status, Thunder Wave on Ferrothorn. Thunder Wave is useful for crippling the opponent's Pokemon, especially useful for setup sweepers since Ferrothorn can take them on most of the time. Toxic on Cradily is for wearing down the opponent since it can't hit that hard. Next up we added Whimsicott which is a great check to Dragon-types and a great utility Pokemon in general with Stun Spore, which can hit threats such as Excadrill, and Encore which is nice for taking on things like Gyarados and Clefable. Wanted to add Rotom-C next which is a great Choice Scarf user and pivot. It has HP Ice to deal with Landorus-I and maybe even Dragonite if things get out of hand. The last Pokemon we decided to add on the team is Breloom. Great Focus Sash user thanks to Spore, which can give it an opportunity to set up with Swords Dance and put in some work. It lacks Bullet Seed because the team already has three Pokemon with Grass-type STAB so we felt it was unnecessary.

On second thought, I am going to be announcing the new contenders and champions after every tournament. Originally I thought it would be me just triple posting, but seeing as how CCATs happen a lot and people are posting their teams, I don't have to worry about that.

Guardian Neb defeated Tacoman 2-0 to retain his Steel Champion position on Saturday 30/07/2016.

The winner of the Champions Tournament on that same day was Iron Wasp. He won the tournament with Steel so Guardian Neb has to defend his spot once again. Results will be posted in here as soon as they're brought to my attention.

Edit: Guardian Neb defeated Iron Wasp and retained his Steel Champion position once again.

Due to the recent ban of Sablenite on Ghost, the type found itself declining in usage so we decided to build a Ghost team to inaugurate this new ghost meta. We started with one of the most important Pokemon on Ghost Sableye, which, thanks to prankster, is able to prevent hazards with Taunt, and burn the foe with Will-o-Wisp making it able to blanket check most physical attackers. The next Pokemon on the team was Goluk which is able to set up hazards in Stealth Rock plus has a great secondary typing in Ground which helps against Electric- and Steel-type Pokemon, plus Dynamic Punch because everyone likes to get confused. Our next two picks weren't stable we were either going to run Life Orb Gengar and Scarf Chandelure or Scarf Gengar and Sub CM Chandelure. We decided the latter with better as our objective was to try new stuff that benefits Ghost-type teams, Sub CM chandelure also offers a nice check to Bisharp. After we were done with the offensive Pokemon we built a defensive backbone so we first added Acid Armor Jellicent which is really helpful against a lot of matchups such as Dragon and is able to stall out opponent with Toxic or with a Scald Burn and decided to go with Cursed Body because it comes in clutch sometimes. The final Pokemon was doublade which gives us a cleaner and another defensive Pokemon, its weaknesses are patched by the other team members.

Shoutout to terrors, dusk raimon, Aehzo, Dece1t, an ocelot and others

This was first ever BW(Gen5) CCAT to be hosted. Ground was the type that was chosen which was interesting to build. We started with Hippowdon which is only weather summoner with reliable recovery in Slack Off. Stealth Rocks are used to help Hippowdon's teammates but giving them certain OHKOs and 2 hit KOs. Earthquake is stab move so Hippowdon isn't a sitting duck. The next Pokemon that was put on the team was Mamoswine. Mamoswine has the really good Ice Ground coverage that very few Pokemon can take. Ice Shard is a form on priority which hits very hard with Life Orb. Icicle Spear is used to break Focus Sash most specifically for Breelom. Earthquake is main STAB and hits very hard. Superpower is used for Chansey which can be a huge issue. The 12 EVs in HP are used so Mamoswine always lives a Mach Punch from Breelom at full. We then spotted a major Keldeo weakness on the ground team so we added physically defensive Gastrodon which can take a Specs Secret Sword relativity well. Scald is there to fish for burns. Recover is used to switch into Keldeo more effectively. Earthquake is used so Sub Cm Keldeo variants cannot set up on Gastrodon. Toxic is used to wear down walls and Pokemon that Gastrodon walls. We then looked at the team and saw an issue in terms of not having speed on the team. We decided to add Scarf Garchomp being one of fastest scarfers because it outspeeds common base 100 scarfers. Dragon Claw is used so Garchomp isn't forced to look itself into Outrage although Outrage is stronger. Earthquake is another STAB Move. Fire Blast is used for Steel types like Ferrothorn and Skarmory. We then noticed the team lacked a win condition. Looking at BW where Landorus-I is banned and the 2 options for win condtion being Gliscor and Landorus-Therian. We ultimately decided on Landorus-T because of it's intimidate ability which can lower threat's attack stat. We decided on the infamous Double Dance Landorus-T to sweep certain teams with the amazing Earthquake and Stone Edge coverage. Lum Berry was chosen over Leftovers to avoid a Scald burn a single time. We then looked at the team and saw that the team lacked a dedicated special attacker, so we decided on a Life Orbed Nidoking. We decided on no poison cover because of it's similarity to Ice and Fire coverage with no fairy types being present in BW. Earth Power is STAB move and hits hard while Ice Beam Thunderbolt and Flamethrower round out Nidoking's coverage.
Special thanks to Jyph StarBlim Tyke sorry if I forgot anyone I don't have logs so I can't look who else particpated

This team was built around Aurorus, and the set we chose was Choice Scarfed with Snow warning. This set was picked because it allowed Aurorus to check many weather-based archetypes, such as Swift Swim Water with Mega Swampert or Kingdra, or Sandstorm Ground with Excadrill. As Aurorus has a glaring Steel weakness, we added Mega Aggron to help counter many Steel-types, and more specifically Mega Scizor. For this we chose Rest/talk as it meant that Aggron was more capable of countering these Pokemon throughout the game as it was able to keep itself on higher health. Cradily was then added as a Water immunity and a check to some specific Water-type threats, such as Dragon Dance Mega Gyarados. For this role the Curse set was chosen because it meant we could set up alongside Gyarados and thus stop it from sweeping. Since we had no lead yet, Shuckle was chosen as the hazard setter, to set both Stealth Rocks and Sticky Webs for the team. Since we now had Sticky Web support, Choice Banded Terrakion was chosen as an excellent wallbreaker, with a strong speed tier that was helped greatly by Sticky Web. Finally, Tyranitar was chosen as it acts as a Specially Defensive wall/pivot for the team, adding in extra bulk and providing Sandstorm support for the rest of the team, boosting their Special Defense stats.

This team was built around Scrafty. We went with a Bulk Up set with max SpD because it's a very good bulky setup sweeper and can be very dangerous to some types if played well. We went with Cobalion as our second Pokemon and Stealth Rock user with Taunt for other leads, and Thunder Wave to cripple the opponent. In a poll to decide the mega evolution, Mega Medicham got pretty much all the votes, and for a good reason, so we went with that. Its wallbreaking capabilities are unmatched. Keldeo was our next choice, pretty standard set. We left Hydro Pump out and went with Icy Wind for hitting Latis, and HP Electric for hitting Slowbro, Azumarill, and Gyarados. Next up we chose Breloom. Spore is an amazing move and those Technician boosted STAB attacks, including priority in Mach Punch and Swords Dance to set up on the foe once you put it to sleep is very useful. Finally we debated between Heracross and Terrakion for our Choice Scarf user and ended up going with Heracross because of its ability to check certain Psychic-type threats that Scrafty can't really get through.

This team was built the same night as Fluxx's ORAS Grass team, I've just been too busy to come on here and post the other team made. Anyways, this was a team built to advertise the Monotype Teambuilding Workshop, where me and some of the other builders took requests to make teams on the spot. I took on a request to build a Poison team revolving around Golbat and Amoongus. That being said, we decided to make those 2 be our Defensive Core, with Golbat playing as the Special Wall, and Amoongus as the Physical Wall (with a pretty nifty Dual Spore set). Once those 2 sets were established, we decided to run Mega Beedrill so we could have a fast Offensive Pivot. Next we decided to immediately put on Nidoking, since Beedrill unfortunatley is walled by a lot of common walls, Steel types in particular. He is also the team's hazard setter. After that, we chose to use Gengar, and run a fast Offensive LO set, which helps tremendously against Ground especially. The last slot we eventually decided on was Drapion, since we opted for another fast Pokemon, an immunity to Psychic, and it also helps to check Mega Charizard-Y + Volcarona.

Shout outs to Confluxx, terrors, and Bondie for helping to build this team, and manage the event we were running that night as well.

This team was intended to be built around the concept of Baton Passing Nasty Plot to one of the many viable recipients Psychic has. The two options we had to choose for the Baton Passer was Mew or Celebi. Thich was decided on by a community vote via a poll in which Celebi won due to its defensive synergy for resisting Ground, Grass, Electric, and Water for Psychic, as well as its added coverage to help against types such as Water. Celebi's added synergy makes matchups such as Swift Swim Water simple, as it can sweep them either alone or through Baton Passing to either of the Trace Pokemon (Mega Alakazam or Gardevoir) to take Swift Swim and sweep with their increased Special Attack. The chosen item for Mew was Colbur Berry, as this meant that we were able to hit (Mega) Sharpedo and Mega Gyarados after having taken a Crunch. This was aided by the 164 Special Attack investment and the Special Attack boosting nature, which guaranteed an OHKO against a Mega Gyarados. The third move on Celebi was quite heavily disputed. Substitute was a great option as it was an added bonus when passing, since getting a Nasty Plot boost and Substitute passed to any of our sweepers almost guaranteed the sweep as it meant opponents were unable to revenge or cripple with status. However Thunder Wave was an option as it meant Celebi was less passive, spreading status throughout the opposing team whilst Baton Pass was mainly used as a momentum boosting option.

After we had decided on Celebi, the next choice was to be what would receive the Baton Pass boosts. We chose Mega Alakazam as it had the exceptional speed stat that enabled it to sweep without needing any boosts to Speed, just needing the Nasty Plot boosts. Specifically, Mega Alakazam's speed allows it to outspeed base 80 Choice Scarf users, notably Hoopa Unbound, Gardevoir, Togekiss, and Mamoswine. Mega Alakazam's first move was also controversial; Encore meant that Alakazam was able to switch into both walls and sweepers (most notably, Chansey, the Skarmdos core, and Bisharp respectively), as whilst they tried to use either a recovery or set up move it was able to Encore them into it and proceed to beat them either through PP stall or simply wallbreaking them through its sheer power, whilst Substitute was an option as it meant that it was harder to revenge as nothing could come in and immeditaely KO it as they had to break the Substitute first, and it made it harder to cripple through status.

The next obvious choice for the team was a lead, at which point we decided that since we were an offensive team, an offensive lead would be the most suitable. In this slot the two choices were Azelf and Deoxys-Speed, ultimately Azelf was chosen due to its ability to be a suicide lead and still be able to taunt and break certain walls (Skarmory and Ferrothorn) through Fire Blast. Generally speaking Azelf attempts to set Rocks and explode, so as to avoid allowing the opponent to remove them from the field, and when possible it Taunts to stop opposing hazards. This was facilitated by its high Speed stat of 361, outspeeding most common leads and notably Galvantula, preventing it setting up Sticky Webs which would elsewhise severely cripple the team as it lacks hazard removal and non-grounded Pokemon to bypass the Speed drop, which makes sweeping almost impossible. The fourth Pokemon for this team was also a pretty simple choice. The EV's on Azelf meant that it could survive Fake Out + Return from Mega Lopunny and still be able to either explode or set up Stealth Rock.

The next Pokemon was Victini, as it added very necessary speed control and was able to maintain momentum through U-Turn. It also added type synergy and a way to check both Mega Scizor and Mega Gyarados after they have boosted. It also added a wincon against most Bug teams through Blue Flare, which even makes it another good Pokemon to receive the Nasty Plot from Celebi if necessary.

Next we decided on Hoopa Unbound, and went for the Choice Banded set as it gave us a good way to break defensive cores and opposing Psychic-type teams. This set was hard to decide between Life Orb and Choice Band, the Life Orb set was suggested as another Pokemon to receive Baton Pass, whilst also still being able to break some Normal teams through Drain Punch. However this set was decided to be worse than the Choice Band set as without massive amounts of investment Drain Punch failed to 2HKO any of Normal's walls.

For the final Pokemon we decided to add a Pokemon with Healing Wish as this meant that we could give Celebi a second chance to set up, or any of our other wincons vs. certain types a second chance to deal damage, such as Victini against Bug or Hoopa against Psychic. We also realized the team lacked a way of reliably beating Dark, so Gardevoir seemed like the perfect fit for this slot. It added yet another recipient for Nasty Plot, more speed control, and excellent coverage through its Fairy-type STAB from Moonblast.

It was initially decided to build based off of one of ice's best attributes as a type, Offense. So with that in mind we paired up 2 of Ice's best wallbreakers to make it facilitated to pave way for late game sweeping. Mega Glalie is arguably one of Ice's best Physical Wallbreakers, with access to STAB Refrigerate boosted Double Edge, and an absurdly strong Explosion, landing OHKO's on both Ferrothorn and Porygon2 after Stealth Rock. Kyurem on the other hand is typically ran Choice Scarfed, however here to take advantage of its insane offenses, we went for the LO Mixed Wallbreaker set. The EVs maximize its Special Attack as much as possible, while putting in enough speed to completely outpace Bisharp and Breloom (2 common threats to Ice Teams). The rest went into bulk. We also gave it Roost to ensure its livability and semi-negate LO recoil, so it can stick around as long as possible.

Once we decided to use that core, we thought Aurorus would be the best option for a lead. Hail is very nice for a little extra residual damage while also guaranteeing it perfect accuracy Blizzards. It also has access to Encore which is a nice tool against opposing leads or boosting sweepers to keep them locked for a short time. To me, the icing on the cake as to why we chose it, was Thunder Wave. This is incredibly helpful to slow down Pokemon that are slower than Glalie and Kyurem, allowing them to often play more prevalent roles in our matches.

Next we put on one of the best mons that is almost always a must to run on a good Ice Team, Avalugg. It's defense stat is overall monstrous, and it has access to Rapid Spin to keep SR off the field (which for Ice Types is a big deal to have). On top of that, it also has the ability to check some of Ice's biggest threats, such as Terrakion, Mega Lopunny, and even Superpower Azumarill (it only gets 3KO'd)!

After that, we realized we were lacking some speed, things like Rock, Mega Diancie notably, pulverised the team, so we immediately decided to run Scarf Mamoswine! It's often overshadowed by Kyurem-B, who is a much more common scarfer, but its also heavily underrated. It can check not only Mega Diancie, but also Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, and tie with common base 80 scarfers such as Chandelure and Gardevoir. The set from there for the most part is pretty self explanatory, other than Knock Off which we decided to run for a little Psychic Coverage, as well as making it a little more useful in the utility department.

Lastly, after a little debate, we finalised the team with one of the most reliable Scizor checks, Walrein. Hidden Power Fire will always be a guaranteed OHKO with Stealth Rocks, and with the provided Speed EVs it creeps 8 invested Mega Scizor, making it the closest-to-reliable check we can get. Frost Breath is used to bypass stat boosts to Special Defense namely, allowing it to get consistent damage on Pokemon like Clefable. Signal Beam was chosen as the last move for filler, since its movepool is so low, but it does have a small niche in 2KO'ing Mega Gyarados and hitting psychic Types super effectively.

Shoutouts to BlackSchwan, SirSkit, and the rest of the people involved for participating in building this awesome team! Special shoutout to StarBlim for co-hosting it with me, and "keeping my grill down" when needed. :)

This was the first Ubers CCAT, we have decided to go with HO Normal as it is a viable playstyle in Ubers and under-utilized. The first Pokemon on the team was Smeargle due to its great support for HO teams. Smeargle has access to both Sticky Webs and Stealth Rock, the former allows us to outspeed the opponent's team if Sticky Webs are laid on the field taking on the most popular types such as Dragon and Steel, while the latter allows passive damage punishing switchins and especially checks one of the most prominent type in the metagame, Flying. Nuzzle allows Smeargle to not be completed Taunt bait and blocked by Magic Bounce, it's a nice move to cripple the opposing Deoxys or Mega Diancie. Rapid Spin is to ensure that the opponent doesn't set up hazards on you, it pairs well with Nuzzle if the foe is just a hazard setter with no taunt you can set up your own hazard and remove the opponent's from your side of the field.

First offensive Pokemon that we decided upon was of course Arceus. It is already one of the best sweepers in the metagame, Sword Dance + Extreme Speed boosted by Life Orb gives Arceus more power allowing it to nail the OHKO on various things that don't resist it. We have decided to go with Earthquake and Shadow Claw as coverage moves, the former allows us to notably hit Steel-types Pokemon super effectively such as Dialga, while the latter ensures that Arceus isn't walled by Ghost-types specifically Giratina.

We went with Mega Lopunny instead of Mega Kangakhan thanks to its ability to hit Ghost- and Steel-types Pokemon more effectively thanks to Scrappy. Fake Out is pretty much a good move allowing it to get free damage turn and stopping Xerneas better when combined with other Priority such as Arceus' Extreme Speed. High Jump Kick and Return are the main STAB moves that Mega Lopunny is going to use. Healing Wish Mega Lopunny is well paired with Arceus, thanks to its High Speed it is able to replenish its partner's health by sacrificing itself without fearing the foe's Speed giving Arceus another sweeping chance if worn down due to Life Orb from its previous attacks.

We lacked a Specially Offensive Pokemon so we decided to add the only special nuke Normal has and that is Porygon-Z. We went with specs due to Sticky Webs support and it main job is to break walls. Tri attack is the main STAB move which with the right download boost and choice specs has a chance at OHKOing Primal Groudon, plus the status chance is great. Ice Beam is the first coverage move allowing us to check the prominent types in the metagame Flying and Dragon types. Thunderbolt gives Porygon-Z the BoltBeam coverage. Dark Pulse is used to hit Ghost-types super effectively.

Diggersby is our fifth choice coupled with Life Orb and good moves it is able to hit various threats in the metagame. Return is the STAB move to go reaching 102 Base Power at Max Happiness allowing it to deal huge damage to the foe, Earthquake is present mainly for Pokemon that resists Diggersby's Return as it hits pretty much as hard as Return. Knock off is used once again against Ghost-type Pokemon and to remove the foe's item which is a plus. Fire Punch is mainly present to hit a Pokemon that is a problem to the team Skarmory, it also hits Ferrothorn.

Last but not least, Ditto. This Pokemon was pretty much picked from the start. It is a great Pokemon in Ubers due to the presence of a lot of set up such as Double Dance Primal Groudon, Geomancy Xerneas and, Dragon Dance Mega Salamence. It can revenge kill such threats alleviating the team weakness to them.

Thanks to Bondie, vlmufa, Jo' Z and others...

no replays but it won a tour :^)

Since we didn't have any samples for the LTM metagame, i decided to create one with the community. First, I polled the types and ghost won and we decided on the first mon we'd use, Hoopa. After polling the sets, we've decided for Trick Room attacker. After that, we saw we needed a setter, and no better mon for this than Cofagrigus, since in the LTM metagame there's a limited amount of defoggers and spinners and it's a great Toxic Spikes setter.

After that, for the same reason stated before, we added Golurk to the team, with the lowest speed stat possible to abuse Trick Room after setting hazards, while still running a sash to reliably set Rocks up. Then, we realized we needed some sort of speed and control and went with Choice Scarf Gengar, considering it isn't affected by webs (like Chandelure) and had good coverage for the LTM metagame with Sludge Wave, helping vs Fairies and Grass types, while also having Focus Blast and Trick to deal with Rock types and cripple some common walls like Zapdos, Cradily and Tentacruel.

For one of the last 2 slots, we decided to go with Doublade to have a physical setup sweeper that can also abuse Trick room, while helping with Fairy, Rock, Grass and Poison matchups. Finally, we decided to go with Jellicent to have some sort of special sponge and to have something to check Fire types with, while also having access to Trick room to make setting it up even easier.

It was very fun creating this team! Shoutouts to symphonii, asph, Izaya., MiyoKa, manofgod, Bora Baea, Oberyn, terrors, Mateeus_1 and everyone else that helped with this team! (sry if i forgot someone :X)

The Monotype Champions Tournament is making a return! Most of you are familiar with it but I'm going to explain the rules anyway. In this tournament, every player has to pick one type and use it for the rest of the tournament. The winner of the tournament will get to challenge the current champion of that type in a Best Out of 3 in that type (monothreat is allowed but only if both players agree to use it!) for the champion spot. Since all the champion spots are taken, these tournaments will take place every week on Friday at 7:00 PM EST, Saturday at 4 PM EST, and Sunday at 4 PM EST.

Rules
1. Teamswitching is not allowed
2. Scouting is allowed
3. Current champions may enter these
tournaments but can only use their type
4. Now type champions are required to have
a smogon forum account
5. The tour must have at least 16 users to be

These current Monotype Champions have until Friday, September 30th @ 6:15 PM EST to reserve their spot, before the first tour begins and their spot is up for grabs by the winner of the tours.

It will be announced in this thread when one of the current champions has to defend his spot, and if he's inactive for one week, the Champion position will be awarded to the #1 Contender.

Edit: Until Generation 7 updates have been uploaded to PS the Monotype Champ Tours are paused!
