Gen 4 Ingrain + Baton Pass

First, the rules:
Only pokémons at level 60, we do play in gen4ubers (where it's allowed baton pass) but isn't allowed any legendary.
Isn't allowed itens.
Only gen3 moves are allowed, despite we do play in gen4 to use the physical special split, but only ADV moves are allowed.

Smeargle
Ability: Own Tempo
Level: 60
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
- Ingrain

As the name of the thread suggest, Smeargle is the star of this team. I start to Spore to immobilize my opponent and then I go for Substitute to be safe and then Ingrain to recover HP, Since Leftovers isn't a option in this tier. For last move it have Baton Pass to pass the Ingrain condition to someone else, propably Ninjask to do a Baton Pass Chain.

Ninjask
Ability: Speed Boost
Level: 60
EVs: 8 HP / 244 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- Aerial Ace
I would like to run my Ninjask with Double team as I do in Battle Frontier of Emerald, but unfortunally this move is inlegal even in ubers so I run with Sword Dance instead. Some replays I used Silver Wind over Aerial Ace because I forgot it become a special move in gen4.
The strategy of Ninjask is pretty simple, try to put a substitute and gains speed by speed boost. If possible use some sword dances and pass it for other pokés this baton pass chain

Metagross
Ability: Clear Body
Level: 60
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Agility
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
One option to receive the boost of baton pass chain is Metagross, but it have Agility in case to come at battle without Ninjask boosts.
It have Meteor Mash to hope to don't miss and boost my atk and also Explosion to lead dramatically with some threads.

Flygon
Ability: Levitate
Level: 60
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
The best option to receive the Batom Pass boosts is Flygon, it have 4 atk moves to lead with everyone.

Starmie
Ability: Natural Cure
Level: 60
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
Just in case, I thought this team also need a special atacker, who can receive the speed boost of Ninjask to be the most fast pokémon of all.
This Starmie is pretty simple, just 4 atk moves.

Breloom
Ability: Effect Spore
Level: 60
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Focus Punch
- Substitute
- Mach Punch
And for last Breloom to have a sleep inducer at the team, I think that is important, and also a move of priority as Mach Punch is also usefull.

im interested in how you want us to rate a team in an arbitrary meta like gen 4 special split in gen 3.. it sounds like a pet mod

but ill rate it as i would an ADV Team

1) Flygon can easily be a mix salamence which is much better and works better behind a sub, you can also use smth such as ttar with the speed boost or smth like heracross

2) 4 attacks mie is not a set... you should run recover over psychic..

3) dont like loom here cuz no gengar removal so you can use smth maybe like a CM celebi

4 attacks Mie is a set in ADV OU(but very niche), some Jolteon spikes teams use it. (such as the current Jolt ROA sample)

Your meta seems a lot like ADV OU, so I will rate this as if it were an ADV OU team. BP is a fairly solved playstyle(but very MU-fishy), so I'm going to try to turn it into something similar to that.
1. On speed-pass teams you normally want strong sweepers that can immediately end the game if given a free turn. Starmie and Flygon don't fit that description, so I'm going to swap them out.
2. Replace Flygon with Belly Drum Hariyama. It can end games if it gets a single free turn and outspeeds the entire meta at +2.
Hariyama
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Belly Drum
- Brick Break
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Rock Slide
3. Replace Starmie with CurseBoom Snorlax. It gives you a switchin to special attackers and Curse + Boom is good at blowing through Physdef Walls like Skarmory, Swampert etc.
Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 204 Atk / 164 Def / 132 SpD / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Curse
- Self-Destruct
- Shadow Ball
- Earthquake
4. Replace Breloom with Belly Drum Poliwrath. It can put opponents to sleep which is huge for your other sweepers. It can also end games instantly if it gets Belly Drum off at +2 speed(Breloom doesn't have the same game ending potential, though it's usually better overall.)

The first 4 teams in this team dump are great examples of good Baton Pass based teams. Recommending changes to resemble these wouldn't be proper for an RMT, seeing as they're so different from yours, but these are pretty much the optimal Baton Pass cheese teams and would do great in your tournament (with some changes to account for Phys/Spec Split). Judging by the replays, most of your opponent's aren't prepared to deal with BP cheese.

By the way, a friend of me made a video where I used that team and luckly wins.
1) Flygon can easily be a mix salamence which is much better and works better behind a sub, you can also use smth such as ttar with the speed boost or smth like heracross
Mix Salamence sounds nice too; what is the best m7 for it?
Dragon Dance,Earthquack, Fire Blast and Outrage?

2) 4 attacks mie is not a set... you should run recover over psychic..
I guess to a Baton Pass strategy, 4 moves is very usefull to be prepare to any kind of foe.

3) dont like loom here cuz no gengar removal so you can use smth maybe like a CM celebi
Unfortunelly Celebi is banned because it's mythical.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 204 Atk / 164 Def / 132 SpD / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Curse
- Self-Destruct
- Shadow Ball
- Earthquake
I used to use Snorlax with Curse, Rest and Sleep Talk.
But we do play on gen4ubers, where shadow ball is special and just allow gen3 moves, so Snorlax can't have Crunch either.
Have a player who used Lick (!), but I'm using Ice Punch to cover ghosts.

I guess the link was expired, sorry to delay too much to see.
But I'm wonder for new baton pass teams.

Now the group are in Johto league, just accept Johto pokémon, and I made this Ingrain + Baton Pass team>

Precioso (Smeargle) (M)
Ability: Own Tempo
Level: 60
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Cosmic Power (Substitute)
- Ingrain
- Baton Pass

I'm not sure if I run with substitute or Cosmic Power, but in all cases I lead with spores and go to ingrain + baton pass.
Ingrain is important to note make me imune to Roar/Whirlwind

Esperança (Scizor) (F)
Ability: Swarm
Level: 60
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Agility
- Steel Wing
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass

Than I start my baton pass chain to Scizor, who have the exactly speed to outspeed a Crobat after an agility, the faster pokémon of Johto.
Steel Wing to be a threat after an Agility and Sword Dance.

T-Rex (Tyranitar) (M)
Ability: Sand Stream
Level: 60
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 248 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide

One possibility to receive the baton pass chain is Tyranitar, who also runs with Dragon Dance to be able to set himself withou baton pass also.

Exu (Gligar) (F)
Ability: Sand Veil
Level: 60
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Aerial Ace
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

The only Sand Veil avaiable in Johto, I need to use and also it can receive the baton pass chain and set him self with swords dance

Mademoiselle (Misdreavus) (F)
Ability: Levitate
Level: 60
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Destiny Bond
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic

My team was too physical and I just choice a special pokémon to make it an equilibrium. Misdreavus can receive an Agility from Scizor, thats why it's Modest and not Timid.

Xi Jin Ping (Ursaring) (M)
Ability: Guts
Level: 60
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Facade
- Fire Punch

The main star of this team is it this Ursaring, if he received the baton pass chain cross smeargle and scizor, it have 4 atk moves and can be hard to stop. Also it have gust and facade in the hope of will o wispers.

1. I think that Agility Pass teams should always use Swords Dance Marowak as it is an extremely powerful sweeper than can easily run away with games at +2 speed and attack. I would like to reccomend Misdreavus over Marowak here. Misdreavus is an ok pokemon, but it doesnt have the some explosive firepower as Marowak
2. I reccomend running Swords Dance on Ursaring here. A +2 speed Ursaring outspeeds almost everything and can easily run away with games at +2 attack similar to Marowak.
3. Consider running Agility over Cosmic Power on Smeargle. Having two potential Agility passers would make the team more consistent and would free up Scizor pass SD for often.

Marowak should be the best to receive a baton pass chain if we could put Thick Club on him, but unfortunelly the rules of the tier there I play banned all itens, so Marowak isn't that interisting anymore...
Some players try to use Belly Drum in Marowak, but I don't have courage to do so.

I like this suggestion, I will wonder what move take out for Sword Dances, but, if I manage to pass Agility and Sword Dance via Scizor to Ursaring, it have it's own sword dance can be useless.

I love this idea, I'm wondering how I don't think in that before lol.
I put Cosmic Power in place of Substitute because I don't know what could be better, but, two Agility baton passer could be nice too.
Thanks for it's suggestion ;)

1. My bad, I forgot items arent allowed in your tour. Consider using Bulk Up Machamp or Swords Dance Heracross instead. They are very similar to Marowak.
2. You wont always be able to pass Swords Dance to Ursaring, opponents may find ways to disrupt the chain and force you to settle for only passing Agility instead. Swords Dance will be useful in those scenarios.
