- 1. Find a Smeargle in the wild. They are found on Route 2.
- 2. Use False Swipe to lower its HP and force it to Sketch False Swipe.
- 3. Initiate an SOS battle by using an Adrenaline Orb if it does not call for help after being at 1 HP from False Swipe.
- 4. The turn after the second Smeargle appears, use the attack you want sketched on the 1 HP Smeargle that knows False Swipe.
- 5. Switch to your Smeargle. This turn the Smeargle that knows the move you want to Sketch will use it, so even if your Smeargle is faster, Sketch won't fail.
- 6. Sketch the enemy Smeargle's move.

HOW TO SKETCH MEMENTO:

Need:
- Pyukumuku with Baton Pass + Memento holding Iron Ball;
- A Pokemon with Baton Pass + Substitute;
- Smeargle with Sketch;
- Pyukumuku as your lead Pokemon.

- 1. Find a Ditto in the wild. They can be found on Mount Hokulani.
- 2. Leading with Pyukumuku, use Baton Pass and switch to your Baton Pass + Substitute Pokemon. Iron Ball will allow you to go second, allowing Ditto to Transform into Pyukumuku with Memento.
- 3. Use Substitute. Worst case scenario Pyukumuku uses Memento and it fails, leaving 4 PP.
- 4. Use Baton Pass, and switch to Smeargle.
- 5. Use items if last move was not Memento; otherwise, Sketch to learn Memento.

Heart Scale, much easier method...
Malie City, Sushi High Roller. Order the Z-Ronin meal, watch a short cutscene with Nanu, get 8 Heart Scales for free. Works once a day. You can also order any of the other meals for $4000 for 4 Heart Scales, but there's no point since the Ronin set is better.

Added! Thanks!

Maybe include locations for evolutions like Eevee to Glaceon/Leafeon, Charjabug to Vikavolt, Crabrawler to Crabominable, etc?

Gift Pokémon and in-game trades might also be worth mentioning.

There are two typos that I've noticed, Snolium Z (Snorlium Z) and Vanusaurite (Venusaurite).

Altarianite, Ampharosite, Latiasite and Latiosite are missing from the list.
They might not be available right now without trading, but Snorlium Z isn't available at all since it can't be traded and is also listed here.

Added Location Based Evolution Locations.
Added Gift Pokemon (except Starter)
Added In Game Trades
Added 4 missing Mega Stones
Fixed 2 pointed out spelling errors.

Thanks!

Noticed that Marshadium Z just has the US event dates; Japan's and Europe's distribution dates are different and you may want to check if there are dates for the rest of the world as well.

Also do you have any plans to add a section on Sketching at all? I'm currently resorting to sketching everything in Gen 6 as I don't think there's a Gen 7 guide out.

Ok so i finally found an easy way to get BP and all you need is these:
1. 3 low level mons or 3 mons with either memento, explosion or healing wish
2. Access to battle royale

Enter the battle royale with those three mons and the rank doesnt matter. Unlike battle tree YOU STILL GET BP EVEN IF YOU LOST which is the loophole im going to abuse. Just let your opponents sweep you and you get 1 bp although if you put some effort you can get more. To get things faster i personally make sure to turn of battle animations and set the text speed to fast. Just rinse and repeat till u finally get the amount of BP you desired.
I'll add this is today!

Sketching is a little tricky, but I can put up a guide for basic moves (attack and status). Moves like Memento that leave the user fainted I have yet to figure out how to sketch in Gen 7.

Also the bottle cap (the normal one) can be found in every fishing spot. Many people do it in Seafolk Village because it is very easy not because it has a higher chance to find one but it is fast and reliable to find a bubbling fishing spot.

Shiny Charm lists Gen 5 odds; in Gen 6+ everything is doubled.
So Shiny Charm is 1 in 1365 and with Masuda Method it's 1 in 512?

EDIT: Found it, 1 in 1365 and 1 in 455. And Fixed. Thanks!

The Lucky Egg would be a good "useful item" to add :) From the professor, postgame + 50 'mons in dex iirc

Sketching is a little tricky, but I can put up a guide for basic moves (attack and status). Moves like Memento that leave the user fainted I have yet to figure out how to sketch in Gen 7.
As an alternative to your Sketch process (just throwing this out there for efficiency sake; yours seems like it would work), you can use Ditto as well. Have a Pokemon with only 1 move--the one you want to sketch--and have Ditto transform into it. Switch to your Smeargle and Sketch away!

As for Memento, haven't tested it but you might be able to:
1) Find wild Smeargle
2) Use Memento (wild Smeargle sketches it)
3) Send out Pokemon faster than wild Smeargle with Substitute + Baton Pass. Use Sub, causing Memento to fail
4) BP to your Smeargle
5) Sketch

Explosion/Self-Destruct: hmm. Well, a really complicated version of your Sketch method might work. Get Role Play onto first Smeargle, switch to Pokemon with Damp so the Smeargle gets the Damp ability, weaken the Smeargle so it calls for help, have explosion/SD fail while the second smeargle sketches it, switch to your own Smeargle and Sketch. Hoping the entire time you don't reach Struggle on the first Smeargle lol.

Yeah, there's probably more efficient ways out there, but that's all I got for 2 am :P

edit: actually you may need to throw in a sub + BP for the explosion case too. Which I guess would mean you need a Damp mon with those 2 moves...which may be a thing? Idk rn lol. The Smeargle would probably struggle by now anyway.

A lot of this is just simple, regurgitated info from serebii. what will set it apart from the information there though is fleshing out the descriptions for the item/NPC locations, rather than just listing them. For example, I would change this
Nugget:

- Route 1, Malie City, Seafolk Village, Ten Carat Hill, Vast Poni Canyon
- Festival Plaza: Gold Rush Prize 2
- Dropped Item: Wimpod, Route 8, Poni Breaker Coast, Poni Wilds
- PickUp Ability (Lv. 1 - 20)
to something like
Nugget:

- Route 1: Near X place by walking in Y direction
- Malie City: Near X building in northern(?) area of the city
- Seafolk Village: Talk to X NPC
- Ten Carat Hill: Near X
- Vast Poni Canyon: Near X after going through Y cave
- Possible prize in the Festival Plaza for playing Gold Rush
- Dropped by wild Wimpod on Route 8, Poni Breaker Coast, and Poni Wilds
- Via a Pokemon with the Pickup ability between level 1-20
this will be quite a bit of work but will be worthwhile

Mention that you should also turn move animations off for easy BP

I'm not sure we should include the mystery gift code mega stones / marshadium Z because the codes will eventually expire, and we've posted about them numerous times on our social media accounts. unless someone wants to edit the onsite article when the codes do expire

You don't need to refer to Looker and Wicke as "NPC Looker" and "NPC Wicke"

you accidentally spelled premier ball "primier ball" :(

Ok, I can add Lucky Egg. Using Memento makes Sketch fail because the pokemon is dead, I tried that at first.

Removed NPC from Looker and Wicke, changed Premier Ball, Added turning off Battle Animations for BP, and I can start working on better item location descriptions today as well. It'll take time, but, I can get it done.

For the Marshadium Z and code Mega Stones, if more people want me to remove them, I can.

Using Memento makes Sketch fail because the pokemon is dead, I tried that at first.
Let a wild Ditto transform into something slow with Memento and another harmless move.
Switch to Substitute Smeargle and hope that RNG picks the other move.
Substitute against the Memento to make it fail without stopping it from being executed.
Sketch it.

UPDATE 9/20/17:
- Added Lucky Egg
- Added how to Sketch Memento
- Found a few minor spelling errors
- Added better descriptions for item locations for "Useful Items" and "Pokeballs."
- Still working on better location descriptions for "Fast Money" section.

The move Happy Hour deserves a mention in the 'Fast Money' section in my opinion.
if there are any previous generations that had Event pokemon that learn this move, should I mention them, or only the event pokemon for Gen 7?

EDIT:
Added Happy Hour to Fast Money
Added Munchlax w/ Snorlium Z Happy Hour Event
Added Pikachu "Pikachu Outbreakchu" Happy Hour event

If you give a Heart Scale, you can remember a move this Pokemon has forgotten, including Egg Moves that were forgotten. Move Deleter:
- Pokemon Center in Hau'oli City. Old Man in a Tan outfit on the right side. This NPC can delete any move a Pokemon has. This can be useful for passing multiple egg moves between both a male and female parent.

Hyper Trainer:
- In the Hau'oli City Mall, in a blue booth, the Middle Character will Hyper Train a Pokemon for a Bottle Cap (1 Stat) or a Gold Bottle Cap (All Stats). MOVE TUTORS:

Grass Pledge, Fire Pledge, Water Pledge:

- In the Hau'oli Mall, in a blue booth, the Right character will teach Starter Pokemon from any region one of the Pledge moves. All these moves are special attacks, 80 Base Power, 100 Accuracy with 10PP.

Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon:
- In the Hau'oli City Mall, in a blue booth, the left character will teach fullly evolved Starters from all Regions these three moves. All three of them are special attacks with 150 Base Power, 90 Accuracy, and 5PP, and the user cannot act on the turn after using these moves.

Volt Tackle:
- A woman standing near 3 three Pikachu and a bench in Konikoni City will teach a Pikachu Volt Tackle. This attack is a physical attack, 120 Base Power, 100 Accuracy, 15PP attack that inflicts recoil damage on the user and can paralyze the opponent. This move is needed for Pikachu to use the Z-Move "Catastropika"

Secret Sword and Relic Song:
- In Hano Grand Hotel, a man in a blue shirt next to a Meowth can teach Keldeo and Meloetta these moves needed for them to change formes. Sacred Sword is a special attack with 85 Base Power, 100 Accuracy, and 10PP, however the move does physical damage, (RC) and allows Keldeo to enter his Resolute Forme. Relic Song is a special attack, 75 Base Power, 100 Accuracy, with 10PP that may induce sleep when used. This move allows Meloetta to enter the Pirouette Forme.

Draco Meteor:
- A Female Ace Trainer in the left corner of the Seafolk Village Pokemon Center can teach this to any Dragon-type Pokemon, including Arceus when holding Dragon Plate, (RC) and Silvally when holding Dragon Memory. Draco Meteor is a special attack, 130 Base Power, 90 Accuracy, and 5 PP that harshly lowers the user's Special Attack by two stages after being used.

Dragon Ascent:
- An older man in a red shirt in the Seafolk Village Pokemon Center can teach this unique move to Rayquaza. Rayquaza who know this attack can Mega Evolve. Dragon Ascent is a physical attack, 120 Base Power, 100 Accuracy, 5 PP, that lowers the user's Defense and Special Defense when used.

HOW TO SKETCH BASIC MOVES:

- 1. Find a Smeargle in the wild. They are found on Route 2.
- 2. Use False Swipe to lower its HP, and force it to Sketch False Swipe.
- 3. Initiate an S.O.S. battle by using an Adrenaline Orb, (RC) if it does not call for help after being at 1HP from False Swipe. (period)
- 4. The turn after the second Smeargle appears, use the attack you want sketched on the 1HP Smeargle that knows False Swipe.
- 5. Switch to your Smeargle. This turn the Smeargle that knows the move you want to Sketch will use it, so even if your Smeargle is faster, Sketch won't fail.
- 6. Sketch the enemy Smeargle.

HOW TO SKETCH MEMENTO:

Need:
- Pyukumuku with Baton Pass/Memento holding Iron Ball
- Pokemon with Baton Pass/Substitute
- Smeargle with Sketch
- Pyukumuku as your lead Pokemon.

- 1. Find a Ditto in the wild. They can be found on Mount Hokulani.
- 2. Use Baton Pass, and pass to your Baton Pass/Substitute Pokemon. Iron Ball will allow you to go second, allowing Ditto to Transform into Pyukumuku with Memento.
- 3. Use Substitute. Worst case Pyukumuku uses Memento and it fails leaving 4 PP left.
- 4. Use Baton Pass and pass to Smeargle.
- 5. Use items if last move was not Memento, otherwise, Sketch to learn Memento
