Welcome to Fusion Evolution Art Gallery!
The Fusion Evolution Pet Mod council is glad to welcome you the Fusion Evolution Art Gallery!
Here we'll discuss about the creative and artistic part of the Pet Mod.

As you may know, the Pet Mod is about to be coded and Submissions of new fusion will take a break for a bit (since we have already nearly 250 Fusions!), so it's the best occasion to have som fun creating the artworks for the Fusions that will form the Metagame. The Pet Mod will soon be implemented in the Aqua Server, so we need something to show when the Fusions will enter the field to battle. And here's you come into play!

We'd like to have the help of the best artists of Smogon Forums to let each fusion have its own artwork and/or sprite.

  • How it works:
Send as many Artworks, Fanarts, Pixel Arts and Sprites about one or more of the Fusions that are now in the Hall of Fame and feel also free to send artworks of (allowed) Fusions you'd like to exist or did not pass the slate(s) during which they were submitted. We need as more artistic material as possible!
Maybe your drawing will be showed in the official thread or will be shown in the Showdown simulator.
Feel free to reinterpret the concept of a Fusion that someone else has already drawn, or to draw fanarts of Fusions performing moves or even their own specific Fusion Moves (link to the official thread), or to colour a B/W sketch, or make the digital version of a drawing made on paper (or even vice versa).
You can also describe a concept as you imagine it, drop the mock-up idea in this thread and let other artists try to depict your idea.
Contribute as much as you like and anyway you like!

From time to time I'll open some contests to make artist compete on the concept of one or more Fusions, and some themed contests will also be opened. Don't worry if your artwork doesn't win the contest, it'll be included in the Art Gallery anyway!

Already sended pieces of art (that you can find in the gallery below) will take part to the contest if one of them features the Fusion(s) they represent.

  • Art Gallery:
Note that none of the following is an official artwork or sprite for the Fusion it represents!

So with the approval of Stitch98 , I have some mock-up ideas for certain fusions! I'd appreciate it if anyone could bring these design ideas to life, as while I can make ideas, I do not have the artistic skills to bring these ideas to life myself.

Kartanbull: My first fusion and my only winning one (as of now), I think it should be Granbull's head and torso with the limbs of Kartana, and the fusion having Kartana's color scheme with a bit of pink thrown in.

Joltarina: Primarina's body, but the little tutu thing around her body is replaced with Jolteon's spiky round thing, and it should have Jolteon's color scheme too.

I will add more as I think of them!

I got inspired by TMan87's Swoopem-Rite!

I really like when impossible parents are combined in Fusions, and Swoopem is a perfect example! The spikes coming out from the fur are iced tufts :)

EDIT: I feel super-inspired today! Here's Blumenwitz's Hooptrio:

I imagined that some Diglett coming in and out from the rings of his arms would have been something cool and a funny idea (and another one is coming out of its chest).

hope you like it!

It's actually "Swoopem", but I feel honored to be the first fusion to be illustrated... even though it hasn't even won the slate (yet).
You actually managed to make Swoobat of all things look menacing, that's impressive !
I like the art a lot tbh.

I'm currently unsure whether or not this thread should be in the studio. Yes, it's voluntary, and yes, anyone can contribute, but I'd like some clarification on what fusions are in need of images (you say there's a Hall of Fame but I can't find it???). I understand that keeping this in the Pet Mod forum won't give you much exposure, but I don't really like how you expect people to contribute to what appears to be a massive project with little to no reward.

I'm sorry, I may have posted in the wrong section. Should it be in the Smeargle's Laptop section?
The Hall of Fame of FE is in the first post of the original thread and successives

You seem to be asking for art of all kinds, so it's not strictly meant for Smeargle's Laptop per say, but since there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what format you need these fusions in, there's a lot of confusion on what you're actually looking for. If you get drawn images of these fusions, are you planning on cropping them out and use them in the simulator? Or is it just used as fanart? And given the number of fusions needed for this project, hosting contests to just illustrate one fusion also seems like a waste.

So are all the fusions listed in those hide tags official and in need of a fusion? Just trying to clarify since none of those lists are labelled Hall of Fame.

Bottom line is: our artists are honestly a bit unclear about not only what this project needs, but also how legitimate it is. If you're asking for others to visualise a pet mod that has relatively little activity in terms of a playerbase, then I don't feel comfortable with this thread in the studio and that you should A) keep it in the Pet Mod forum since anyone can contribute to this or B) come up with a different solution to indicate that a Pokemon is fused with something else in the simulator.

I am actually asking for art of all kind since we need as much contribuition to the Pet Mod as possible to let followers play actual match with the fusions. We'll use the best piece of art that we''ll have at the moment, no matter if fanart, pixel art, sprite, 3d sprite or whatever, to show the fusion in the simulator, so any submission will be accepted.
The activity in the thread will change in base of the phases: if there's an active contest, people will be allowed to submit their concept for a fusion in an established format; for the rest of the time, artist will be free to submit fanarts to get some feedback.
And given the number of fusions needed for this project, hosting contests to just illustrate one fusion also seems like a waste.

A contest will never feature only one fusion, they'll be cumulative and themed. Also, there's no hurry, since first we need the code and the Pet Mod to be implemented on a server and playable, and then we'll deal with artworks and sprites.

One of the aims of the thread is obviusly to give some visibility to the Pet Mod, but it is mostly referred to the followers of the project. One must know what we're talking about to contribute.
I was asked by G-Luke to open a thread about the Pet Mod here to let people contribute with artworks for the fusions, so I didn't see any problem about doing it.
May I request to wait for him to intervene, so that we can know what he meant and why he asked me to open the thread here?

All bigger projects like this generally need permission from forum staff before being made, apologies on our side since iirc there's no actual rule against it, we just figured it was common sense.

Since you'll most likely get fusions of sprites and models, I'd lean towards keeping this in the Laptop.

However ....

Also, there's no hurry, since first we need the code and the Pet Mod to be implemented on a server and playable, and then we'll deal with artworks and sprites
Gonna lock this thread for this reason. Don't ask users to create content for your mod when it's not even functionable.
