Name of the Eternal Pokémon: Hippopotas-Eternal
New Type (optional): Rock / Grass
New Stat distribution: 76 / 134 / 75 / 50 / 77 / 112 | BST: 524
Signature Move: Swampland Shuffle: [Grass] [Physical] [100 BP] [100% Acc] [Max 12 pp] This move has a 40% chance of inflicting Leech Seed and lowering the opponent's defense.
Design/Flavor (optional): This Hippopotas slipped into a swamp and remained preserved for thousands of years. When it emerged, it became angry and aggressive, leaving behind it's more placid, defensive ways. If you see a sandstorm but not the source, be on your guard.
Competitive Analysis: Strong physical sweeper with a bulky side as well. Setting sandstorm is helpful to instantly boost it's SpD. Swampland Shuffle is a great spammable move to possibly leech health from the opponent and lower their defense.
Only one new type for each Eternal Mon (has to be partially Ground-type)

Signature Move: Dusty Blitz |
|
| 80 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 PP | Priority: +1 | Cloaked in dust, the user charges at the opponent with high speed. This may lower the opponent's Defense. | 30% chance to lower target's Defense by 1 stage, makes contact | Z-Move: Tectonic Rage 160 BP
Design/Flavor: A Vulpix got lost in the middle of a desert. Alone and saddened by its impending doom, the Vulpix howled until a storm of dust blew it into an oasis. The Vulpix realized it had summoned the dust storm itself, saving its own life and learning a new power. Vulpix-Eternal is light brown with dust constantly running off its body and blowing away in the wind.
Competitive Analysis: Vulpix-Eternal is a physical attacker with a strong Ground priority attack. Drought reduces its 4x Water weakness to a 2x weakness, and the sun makes Flare Blitz hit hard. It has a small physical movepool, though, and Flare Blitz deals a lot of recoil damage.

Signature Move: Thunder Snow |
|
| 110 BP | 80% Accuracy | 10 PP | Priority: 0 | The user blasts opposing Pokemon with a storm of ice and lightning. This may paralyze or freeze opponents hit. | 30% chance to paralyze, 10% chance to freeze, 100% accuracy in hail | Z-Move: Gigavolt Havoc 180 BP
Design/Flavor: An Alolan Vulpix found itself in a blizzard on top of Mount Lanakila, and it was struck by a thunderbolt created by the storm. The Alolan Vulpix survived the strike and developed the ability to create its own thunder snow attacks. Vulpix-Alola-Eternal has a yellowish tinge to its fur and the tips of its tails are jagged and pointed like lightning bolts.
Competitive Analysis: Vulpix-Alola-Eternal has access to Snow Warning along with a powerful offensive STAB combo. Both of its strongest moves, Blizzard and Thunder Snow, have perfect accuracy in hail, allowing it to hit most targets very hard. However, Ice/Electric is bad defensively and comes with a Stealth Rock weakness, and its strongest moves are dependent on hail for their reliability.

|
| 90 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 PP | Priority: 0 | The user bites the opponent with its large mouth full of venom-coated teeth. This may badly poison the opponent or cause flinching. | 30% chance to badly poison, 10% chance to cause flinching, makes contact | Z-Move: Acid Downpour 175 BP
Design/Flavor: A Hippopotas was bitten by an Arbok but the Arbok couldn't devour it, so it was left to die from the venom. However, against all odds, it clung onto life and survived the poisoning, developing the ability to use the venom in its own bites. Hippopotas-Eternal is brown with dark purple spots, and its teeth are purple with lighter purple poison dripping from its mouth.
Competitive Analysis: Hippopotas-Eternal is specially tanky with very high attack, allowing to do heavy damage with its STABs Earthquake and Toxic Chomp. It can efficiently run a Curse set which also patches up its lower physical bulk as well.

Signature Move: Stealth Icicle |
|
| -- BP | -- Accuracy | 20 PP | Priority: 0 | The user lays a trap of levitating icicles around the opposing team. The trap hurts opposing Pokemon that switch into battle. | Entry hazard that damages opposing Pokemon that switch in. Damage done is based on the opponent's weakness to Ice (same mechanics as Stealth Rock). Cannot be stacked with Stealth Rock, itself, or similar hazards, and can be removed the same way as Stealth Rock. | Z-Move: Boosts user's Special Defense by 1 stage
Design/Flavor: A Snover wandered into an icy cave high on a mountain. The ceiling started shaking, sending icicles falling into the Snover's body. The Snover used its ice abilities to freeze its own body in an attempt to survive the icicles. Luckily, freezing itself allowed the icicles to be removed from its body, which it now uses to attack. Snover-Eternal is completely white, appearing as if snow and ice have frozen its entire body solid.
Competitive Analysis: Snover-Eternal has good speed and usable bulk, but its offensive stats leave it rather passive. Instead, its main usage is setting its unique entry hazard, Stealth Icicle, which deals Ice-type damage to switch-ins. However, it has a poor defensive typing, and hail weakens its Synthesis recovery, so it has difficulty switching in while being easily forced out.
Snover-Eternal @ Leftovers

Signature Move: Solar Boil |
|
| 90 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 PP | Priority: | The user harnesses the power of the sun to launch boiling water at the target. This may burn the target. | 30% chance to burn, 50% chance in sunlight. Power is not affected by sunlight or rain, despite being Water-type. | Z-Move: 150 BP Hydro Vortex |
Design/Flavor: This Vulpix was separated from its family during a volcanic eruption in the distant past. It made a new life in the area around the now-dormant volcano, living off of the vegetation that grew from the rich and fertile volcanic soil and frequenting the geysers and hot springs that abounded due to the heated groundwater. In time, it learned to use the telekinetic abilities which all Vulpix and Ninetales possess, and figured out how to create and manipulate the boiling groundwater of its home. It still retains its orange color, interspersed with streaks of blue; its tails are completely blue and have floating streams of water trailing out of them. It also carries a bubble of boiling water above its head, which it can use as a projectile to attack its opponents or as a magnifying lens to focus solar energy onto a single point.
Competitive Analysis: A strong special attacker with excellent STAB coverage and an ability that makes its STAB even better. It can both set up sun and take advantage of it, and has the unique ability to actually counter other sun teams with a Water-type move that isn't weakened by sunlight. It can also shut down a lot of physical attackers using Solar Boil, which has a high burn chance and is generally more reliable than Will-o'-Wisp; the high chance of status also gives it a better chance of doing good damage with Hex.

|
| 80 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 PP | Priority: | The user blows a special kind of glittering dust at the target, which is super effective against Steel-types. This may lower the target's Accuracy. | Super-effective on Steel-types. 10% chance to lower target's Accuracy by 1. | Z-Move: 140 BP Twinkle Tackle |
Design/Flavor: Alolan Vulpix are not as long-lived as their Kantonian brethren... with one exception. This Alolan Vulpix was found frozen in a block of ice, perfectly preserved since the last Ice Age. What no one expected was that it was still alive, and had been conscious and in meditation the entire time. When researchers thawed it out, they found that it had become extremely powerful through meditation and the honing of its psychic abilities, and it could imbue snowflakes with a magical power that allowed them to corrode through metal. It is constantly surrounded by glittering pink snow flurries, and its excess magical energy has solidified and turned into pink glowing crystals which protrude from its back. Its fur is much spikier and more crystalline, appearing similar to Jolteon's fur.
Competitive Analysis: A fast special attacker with insane coverage in Freeze-Dry and Diamond Dust. It hits nearly everything for at least neutral damage with those two moves alone, and adding in Hex gives it near-perfect neutral coverage with the only exceptions being Litleo and Pyroar. It's also unique in having a double weakness to Steel but also being something that does super-effective damage to every Steel-type barring Heatran and Ponyta-Eternal. Its excellent coverage is somewhat hindered by its paper-thin physical Defense and the relatively weak base power of the coverage moves themselves; a lot of Steel-types still beat it one-on-one, especially with Bullet Punch, but few can safely switch into it. Also fuck Chingling

Signature Move: Soul Drain |
|
| 80 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 PP | Priority: | The user drains the target's life energy to restore its own HP and cure it of status ailments. | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt to the user. Cures user of status conditions if successful. Makes contact. | Z-Move: 140 BP Never-Ending Nightmare |
Design/Flavor: In ancient desert-dwelling civilizations, Hippopotas and Hippowdon were hunted for sport, as well as for their teeth and bones, which were prized as luxury items. This drove their population to near extinction before the almost simultaneous collapse of every existing civilization at the end of the Great Kalos War. For millennia, the area that was once a dumping ground for Hippopotas and Hippowdon bodies lay undisturbed and silent, until archaeological excavations in the area began. When a group of archaeologists uncovered thousands upon thousands of mummified Hippopotas and Hippowdon corpses, they immediately notified several news stations, but when the camera crews arrived at the scene, not a single living person was in the camp. It took authorities days to uncover the secret chamber underneath the dumping ground, and once they did so they discovered the desiccated bodies of the excavation team, which looked as though they had been there for thousands of years. Over the course of the next several months, several similar deaths occurred around the area, and reports began surfacing of a spectral Hippopotas with ghostly fangs and bone-white mummified skin, which could phase through solid objects and use its fangs to drain years from a person's life until they were nothing but a withered corpse. Following a public address from the mayor of a nearby city in which he appeared to age over one thousand years before crumbling into dust, travel to the area was heavily restricted and the population was relocated. An exclusion zone was established around the area, but attempts at enforcing it were abandoned after the deaths of several guards. Today, the area is completely desolate, and though there are still sightings of the Hippopotas in nearby areas, no recent deaths have been reported.
Competitive Analysis: Hippopotas-Eternal is, to put it lightly, an absolute unit. With an enormous base 138 HP and 138 Defense and a great defensive typing, it can take pretty much anything thrown at it on the physical side. Its Sp. Def of 40 does leave it vulnerable to strong special attackers, especially ones that can hit it super-effectively, like Haunter-Eternal, Kadabra-Eternal and Ash-Greninja, and running Assault Vest means it can't take advantage of several fantastic moves. In addition to reliable recovery in Slack Off and good support options in Stealth Rock, Toxic and Roar, Hippopotas-Eternal can also use Soul Drain to get rid of its own status ailments, notably Toxic, and it hits decently hard with Earthquake or Rock Slide. However, due to being a Ghost-type, it can't set up with Curse and thus has no way of actually boosting its stats outside of Stockpile, which, though scummy, can only be used three times and doesn't help its attacking stats at all. Hippopotas-Eternal struggles to break through strong walls and tanks, and flounders completely against bulky Normal-types, against whom it cannot remove its status conditions. Possibly its hardest matchup is against Chansey-Eternal, which beats it outright with Toxic and tanks anything the hippo can dish out, unless you really think Iron Tail is a good idea.

This paragraph alone carries deeper lore than a lot of video games

Name of the Eternal Pokémon: Vulpix-Eternal
New Type: Fire/Electric
New Stat distribution: 59 (+21) / 60 (+19) / 95 (+55) / 121 (+71) / 70 (+5) / 99 (+34) | 504 BST
Signature Move: Capacitance - Electric, Special, 85 BP, 10 PP, 100% Acc | Under sun, this move causes the user to switch out. | Z-Move: 160 BP Gigavolt Havoc
Design/Flavor: Upwards of one century ago, a Kantonian tourist left a Vulpix Egg at Blush Mountain. At the time, the heat and energy of the power plant were rogue enough to genetically alter the hatchling and drastically increase its lifespan. This also made the Vulpix's fur appear thoroughly gilded and conduct an electricity that generates propulsive force in response to heat.
Competitive Analysis: One way to make a weather pivot. Has decent dual STAB coverage, alongside a multitude of complementary options for different situations.

Name of the Eternal Pokémon: Vulpix-Alola-Eternal
New Type: Ice/Ground
New Stat distribution: 51 (+13) / 59 (+18) / 95 (+55) / 119 (+69) / 70 (+5) / 110 (+45) | 504 BST
Signature Move: Tundra Vent - Ground, Special, 85 BP, 10 PP, 100% Acc | Under hail, this move hits airborne targets. | Z-Move: 160 BP Tectonic Rage
Design/Flavor: An Alolan Vulpix encased itself in an icy rock on Mount Lanakila, hoping to cryogenically preserve itself for years to come. However, a tunnel just its size was dug underneath the rock, through which it fell from the icy rock and ended up with dusty brown fur. The experience awakened it to a latent technique to shift portions of land using its vital energy, which is why the tunnel is no longer around. The technique in question is particularly effective on low-temperature ground.
Competitive Analysis: An Aurora Veil setter? Perhaps, but this is actually a more offensive take on hail abuse.

Name of the Eternal Pokémon: Hippopotas-Eternal
New Type: Ground/Fire
New Stat distribution: 108 (+40) / 112 (+40) / 78 / 47 (+9) / 61 (+19) / 118 (+86) | 524 BST
Signature Move: Popcorn Sand - Fire, Physical, 70 BP, 10 PP, 100% Acc | If used while sandstorm is active, this move summons harsh sunlight before dealing damage. | Z-Move: 140 BP Inferno Overdrive
Design/Flavor: Hippopotas normally reside in Ruins Maniac's Cave in Sinnoh, but this particular creature ended up falling deeper into the ground and being ejected out Stark Mountain. It now finds itself with a crimson red pelt and significantly more nimble muscles. Being intimately familiar with both sand and heat, it has the ability to roast entire packs of sand beyond their boiling point, making them fuel for the sun.
Competitive Analysis: Imagine having multiple forms of weather in one Pokémon. This is an Eternal take on such a concept. With potent dual STAB and Rock coverage (too bad for no elemental fangs), it has the makings of an offensive weather setter and/or Stealth Rock user.

I find it funny a few people are just throwing out the tree thing
I wrote the Hippopotas thing and couldn’t find any way to top it. Also, Ice/Grass is impossible to make good defensively (unless you want to take Hail damage), and I already made an Ice-type sweeper for this slate.

I did not want to look up what its name was I just could not remember I can remember the other three but I always forget *looks it up finally* snover

also are we voting yet?

Competitive Analysis: This move gives Searing Screen Weepinbell a way to actually function giving at same time a way to put Stealth Rock and a way to bring Weepinbell-Eternal to the field. Vulpix-Eternal also has some decent enough utility moves like Will-o-Wisp and Hypnosis, and a good speed tier to take advantage of said moves.

I deeply apologize for all the time I've left this thread to die because I was busy with other stuff. But I randomly got some interest back into Eternal Pokémon (a percentage of which may or may not be associated with the fact it wasn't picked for PMGS II) so I'm gonna give myself another shot at hosting this, hope I can do a better job this time, and that you guys are still interested into Eternal Pokémon :>

Anyway, congrats to leonard (from big bang theory) for winning with Vulpix and Snover, Mygavolt for winning with Alolan Vulpix, and alephgalactus for winning with Hipopotas:

Flavor: This Vulpix is rumored to only be invisible in harsh sunlight- In fact its fur reflects the sunlight in such a way where it appears as a mirror, creating the illusion of invisibility. It uses this in order to flee from threats.
Competitive Analysis: Weepinbell has poor bulk, so why not create an offensive partner that can facilitate Weepinbell to switch in safely, which allows it to set Searing Screens more safely and also run fully offensive sets with less risk. Free this cheese offense!

|
| 100 BP | 10 PP | "Wooper simply attacks, completely unaware" | Deals neutral damage regardless of type effectiveness. Never Misses. Ignore's foe's abilities. | Z Move - 180 BP Hydro Vortex
Design/Flavor: Wooper becomes even more Unaware
Competitive Analysis: Choice Band Wooper-E seems pretty scary, especially in rain, however it has literally no bulk in return and a quite outspeedable speed stat. It can run a lot of status moves too, as it literally doesn't need any other attack.

|
| 10 PP | "Marshtomp uses it's strong regenerating powers to heal itself" | Marshtomp heals to full HP. | Z Move - all of the user's lowered stats are reset
Design/Flavor: Marshtomp's body becomes more transparent
Competitive Analysis: A unique wall with a extremely powerful recovery move, but offset by a lackluster bulk. Also a nice Stealth Rock user I suppose.

Signature Move: Sensorial Swim |
|
| 10 PP | "Barboach swims around to avoid the foe's attacks and scouts their attacking method with its whiskers to be able to adequately handle them" | Barboach protects itself and raises both its Defense and Special Defense. This move will ALWAYS fail when used consecutively. | Z Move - all of the user's lowered stats are reset
Design/Flavor: Barboach's whiskers grow much bigger and its body gets a bit elongated.
Competitive Analysis: With Dragon Dance, a strong converage in Earthquake + Z-Bounce, and a nice move in Sensorial Swim, Barboach can be a threatening setup sweeper in the right conditions.

Signature Move: Third Degree |
|
| 90 BP | 100 Acc | 15 PP | Bashing the opponent with his head boil, Palpitoad transfers any status it harbors to the enemy. Heals Palpitoad of its current status. The opponent is inflicted with that status effect. | Z-Move: 175 BP Inferno Overdrive
Design: Palpitoad becomes red where it is dark blue. The light blue parts of its body become a transparent orange, where boiling fluids can be seen within.
Competitive Analysis: With Water Absorb Palpitoad almost becomes a mini-PDon. Third Degree allows it to stay healthy against most walls that would aim to status it. Very safe switch-in to Magneton-Eternal, and a fair enough option against the other steels. Not great against stuff like Piloswine-Eternal and Landorus, though.

| 85 BP | 100 Acc | 20 PP | Barboach rushes the opponent, covering them in mud. User switches out. 100% chance to lower accuracy by 1 stage. | Z-Move: 170 BP Hydro Vortex
Design: Barboach is coated in mud and filth.
Competitive Analysis: Obnoxious pivot with a signature move that is even more obnoxius. Frail as all hell though and will likely just be spamming Mudslide the whole game.

I didn't know that Swampert had 468 BST.

Signature Move: Venom •
175006
175005
• 10 PP • — Power • 100% Accuracy • Inverts the target's stat changes and poisons it. • Z-Effect: Speed +1
Flavor: Wooper-Eternal's entire body becomes encased in a dark purple sludge. Its previously smooth-looking skin becomes extremely droopy and runny, similar to Grimer or Muk. Its whiskers become a stripe pattern, colored with a bright red and yellow hue.
Competitive: Wooper-E would be able to shut down a lot of set-up Pokemon with Venom in conjunction with Unaware. A Water/Poison typing is solid defensively. To compensate for the amazing Venom + Unaware combination, Wooper-Eternal does not have the most phenomenal defenses out there. 80/63/108 is respectable enough to fulfill its role, but it leaves something to be desired. A set utilizing Scald, Sludge Bomb/Curse, Recover, and Venom seems most optimal.

1557705404661.png
• 10 PP • 95 Power • 80% Accuracy • 20% chance to raise the user's Attack by 1. • Z-Power: 175
Flavor: Marshtomp-Eternal's body would be taller and would have what look more like muscles (similarly to Swampert-Mega). The dorsal fin-like thing on its head would become more spiky and run down the back of Marshtomp-E's body. The orange spots on Marshtomp-E would also become more red, while the circular shape on its stomach becomes the shape of a fist.

Competitive: Marshtomp-Eternal can act as a solid offensive stealth rock user. Being able to check Heatran to (bar Bloom Doom variants) is valuable. With solid 88/92/90 bulk, Marshtomp-Eternal can find use as a utility-based Pokemon. It's held back by a lack of reliable recovery in this regard, however, and would require Wish, Leech Seed, or Grassy Terrain support to fulfill this role consistently. Wave Beatdown and Superpower are extremely strong STABs that Marshtomp-E has at its disposal. With Earthquake, it can nail Toxapex, complimenting those STABs. An offensive stealth rock set utilizing Groundium Z and Earthquake to target Toxapex would be a nice set.

1557775897805.png
• 10 PP • 120 Power • 100% Accuracy • 33% recoil. 10% chance to confuse target. • Z-Power: 190 • Contact
Flavor: Barboach-Eternal becomes a deep purple and red, similar to Dragalge. The fins resemble small wings (aren't big enough for it to fly). Its tail becomes increasingly larger and spikier. Growing small legs, Barboach-E roams the land, though it can spend some time in water still.

Competitive: Barboach-Eternal would be most optimal as a strong cleaner in the lategame. Utilizing Dragon Dance and a solid 120 base Attack, Barboach performs this role solidly. With lackluster bulk, Barboach-E can struggle to find opportunities to set up, especially against super effective attacks. Another Dragon/Ground Dragon Dance user, Zygarde-10%, is only faster by 5 base points and is far frailer. The most optimal moveset for Barboach would be one running Dragon Dance, Lash Out, Earthquake, Toxic / Facade and Dragonium Z. A variant with Bounce and Flyinium Z can act as a solid lure to bulky Grass-types, which Barboach-E would struggle with (especially Tapu Bulu).

Signature Move:
Grim Desecration (Dark|Physical|65 BP|12 PP|+3 Priority|Z-Power: 130 BP|Accuracy: 100%|Ignores Psychic Terrain)
Design/Flavor: After the destruction of this Wooper's home and extermination of his friends, he was captured by poachers and placed in the black market. Wooper was then sold as a slave to a physically and emotionally abusive master. Wooper-Eternal's blissfully ignorant attitude eventually snapped and it fully embraced hatred, rage, and depression. Wooper-Eternal brutally ended his master and became a harbinger of sorrow and misery against all humans. Wooper-Eternal's skin has dulled into a pale gray to reflect the end of its cheerful unaware mannerisms and its whiskers are ashy and red. Its eyes are said to see nothing but remorseless actions incited by humans and are wide with anger and misery. If you see this monstrous Wooper even a mile away from your home, prepare for the end.
Competitive Analysis (optional): Edgelord Wooper has an interesting niche as a physical wallbreaker against the likes of Crawdaunt due to its Dark priority that can eliminate any fast Psychic wallbreaker/sweeper. Wooper wields a powerful Choice Band set and also uses Water Absorb to deny any possible Scald burns. However Wooper is still seriously slow and its defenses are poor so it often requires slow pivots to get it in safely against most threats outside of some defensive Water-types.

Name of the Eternal Pokémon: Barbroach-Eternal

New Stat distribution:
HP:

Atk: 110 (+62)
Def: 103 (+60)
SpA: 20 (-26)

BST: 467
Signature Move:
Spiral Strike (Dragon|Physical|120 BP|8 PP|Accuracy: 70%|Is fully accurate under Rain|10% chance to Paralyze)
Design/Flavor: Barbroach-Eternal was always marveled by the Magikarp line and how those fish, who were at one point deemed useless, evolved into majestic, slender, and powerful beasts. This fascination became obssession and Barbroach-Eternal intentionally placed itself into perilous situations as it believed through these tasks it would evolve into a form similar to a Gyarados. One day, Barbroach-Eternal detected the presence of Rayquaza taking a swan dive into its lake. The monstrous serpent-like Dragon approached the lake and curved out of the lake at the last second with a speed that broke the sound barrier. Against all odds, Barbroach-Eternal was successfully able to latch itself onto Rayquaza with its whiskers. Rayquaza soon discovered the tiny fish desperately holding on to its scales. Rayquaza was shocked and impressed by the creature and then gave it its blessing. Barbroach-Eternal underwent a metamorphosis as its gray scales became a beautiful gold. Its whiskers became encrusted in jade and its fins went through the same transformation. Its mouth puckered into a blood red and its pattern reformed into high point of a wave. Barbroach-Eternal now is believed to always be latched onto Rayquaza and prepared to battle alongside it. Barbroach-Eternal has become the personification of the theme that “Nothing is impossible if there’s a dream you’re willing to chase.”
Competitive Analysis: Barbroach-Eternal is a Rain sweeper that is a physical user of Hydration as opposed to Manaphy. It can run Rest and immediately recover all of its health and wake up simultaneously. Barbroach-Eternal’s decently high defenses offers it more opportunities to sweep, but its low Health stat can compromise this attribute.
