I did say this on the pre-release thread but I think that Crabominable is the Pangoro of gen 7. Having exceptional offensive typing & Attack stat, backed up by mediocre defenses, speed & lack of priority (tho Pangoro did get Bullet Punch this gen). However Pangoro got immense buffs from tutor moves, with access to Knock Off, Drain Punch & Gunk Shot, getting it banned from RU. I feel like a similar case will happen to Crabomin in singles, at least getting the former two moves listed if not Gunk Shot.
But alas, it's a year away so he's probably gonna end up being an RU wallbreaker for now. Choice Band is the item since it needs Drain Punch to make full use of AV imo, plus it wants the power. Then run Ice Hammer, CC, EQ & Stone Edge.

some calcs:
252+ Atk Choice Band Crabominable Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Registeel: 458-540 (125.8 - 148.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Crabominable Close Combat vs. 120 HP / 136+ Def Alomomola: 306-360 (61 - 71.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Crabominable Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Solid Rock Rhyperior: 391-460 (90 - 105.9%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

I realize that this thing is far from optimal in singles, but I suck at doubles and I love this mon so I'm determined to try and make it work, and in my experience it IS bulky enough to take a few hits, so its useful enough to cause switches and punch holes in the enemy team. I think especially with wish support it could be pretty damn good.
