Comfey

[OVERVIEW]

  • Bearing a good offensive and defensive typing, it can function as a solid late game cleaner giving it +3 priority to all healing moves, including its most spammable STAB-attack, Draining Kiss.
  • It can also serve as a decent stall breaker, with access to taunt as well as priority healing moves, it can set up against bulkier Pokemon namely; Blissey, Alomomola, Vullaby, Klefki, Quagsire, Jellicent and Tangela. Also, Comfeys speed tier makes it an effective taunt user, as it can naturally outspeed all walls.
  • Comfey can perform as a great revenge killer thanks to its fantastic ability Triage. Having +3 priority, it can get off a prioritised Draining Kiss before the opponent while regaining 75% of the damage dealt can be amazingly useful for revenge killing common threats to the likes of; Latias, Krookidile, Hydreigon, Mega-Absol, Conkeldurr and Mega Shrpedo.
  • Although prioritised Fairy-STAB is never a bad thing, without Calm Mind boosts its damage output pitifully weak as well as its lacklustre base 82 Special Attack.
  • In addition to being quite weak without boosts, Comfey has an extremely disappointing HP stat as well as bad Physical Defence, it finds itself being vulnerable to a lot of the tiers strong Physical attackers, namely; Scizor, Cobalion, Doublade and Metagross. It even finds itsel struggling against some Special Attacker without boosted Special Defence like; Primarina, Magneton, Venomoth, Nidoqueen and Nidoking.

Moves
========
  • Calm Mind serves as Comfeys greatest tool to becoming a potential threat, boosting it's somewhat lacklustre base 82 Special Attack and good base 110 Special Defence can solidify it's role in late game cleaning.
  • Draining Kiss is Comfeys main and most spammable STAB-attack. Having +3 priority thanks to Triage, it can get off a prioritised hit before the opponent while regaining 75% of the damage dealt can be amazingly useful for revenge killing common threats. Although without Calm Mind boosts, damage output from Draining Kiss can be quite underwhelming.
  • Taunt can be utilised against bulkier Pokemon, sometimes rendering them useless allowing Comfey to set up with Calm Mind.
  • Hidden Power Fire

Set Details
========

  • 148 HP allows Comfey to survive certain variants of Scizors Bullet Punch, and to survive a Iron Head from Cobalion.
  • 108 Speed

Usage Tips
========
  • Comfey can come in at ease against bulkier Pokemon and shut them down with taunt, making them set up fodder.
Team Options
=========
  • Unfortunately, due to Comfeys lack of coverage and it being inherently weak to some of the tiers top threats, you need to devote a lot of time and effort into building around it.
  • One of its outstanding weaknesses is being weak to the abundance of Steel-types in the tier, almost making it mandatory to run counters for them when building a team with Comfey.
  • Arcanine is a great teammate for it, being able to; absolutely hammer Steel-types with its STAB-attacks, lowering Pokemons attack upon switch in thanks to Intimidate, burning Physical attackers such as Scizor, Bisharp, Metagross, Doublade and Cobalion with Will-O-Wisp enabling Comfey to take more hits.
  • Magneton can trap Steel-types and deal massive damage with Choice Specs Hidden Power Fire, also bearing an immunity to Poison-type attacks, it can serve as a excellent partner.
  • Additionally, Ground-types can take care of Fire-types which can hard wall Comfey, resisting its STAB-attacks. Furthermore Ground-types like Krookidile, Gliscor, Swampert, Hippowdon, Zygarde-10% and Nidoking can all eliminate most Steel and Poison-types.
  • Pokemon such as Frosslass and Klefki who hazard stack with Spikes assist Comfeys role in cleaning up late game.

Describe the other aspects of the set such as what the EVs do and nature/item.

Usage Tips
========

  • Most Dragon-types such as Latias and Hydreigon make it easy for Comfey to come in and go for a substitute on the expecyed switch, or proceed to set up with Calm Mind
  • Since Synthesis has a mere 8 PP, make sure to use it with consideration and at the right time.
  • Alongside having access to Synthesis, it also has the option to utilise Leech Seec

Team Options
========
  • Nothing much really changes when it comes to Pokemon supporting Comfey, although due to the fact that this set has more Defensive EVs in place it can find itself being more independent in taking on checks

Other Options
=============

List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to either being not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.

Checks and Counters

**Poison-Types**:

**Strong Physical Attackers**:
