Cofagrigus

[OVERVIEW]

*With the combination of its Will-O-Wisp and Mummy, Cofagrigus can cripple most physical attackers in the tier

*Cofagrigus can also support its team with Toxic Spikes and spin blocking

*However, Cofagrigus can’t do much against special attackers, since they do not fear Will-O-Wisp and Shadow Ball usually don’t hit hard enough

*Cofagrigus don’t have a reliable recovery move, the only options being use rest or pain split

Moves
========

*Shadow Ball is the best STAB option and has a chance of lower the opponents Special Defence

*Toxic Spikes is a great support move allowing Cofagrigus to help its team mates

*Will-O-Wisp will cripple physical attackers

*Rest is the most reliable recovery move Cofagrigus has

Set Details
========

*The EV spread maximize Cofagrigus physical bulk

* Colbur Berry allow Cofagrigus to tank dark moves better, mainly knock off

Usage Tips
========

*Be sure that all opposing poison types are dead before using toxic spikes

*Cofagrigus can switch into a myriad of physical attackers like Scizor, Heracross and Conkelldur and cripple them with Will-O-Wisp/Mummy or set up toxic spikes

*Cofagrigus usually lure dark types like Weavile, Mega-Absol and Krookdile. Thanks to Colbur Berry, it can tank a STAB Knock Off and burn them in return (Mega-Absol can be burned thanks to Mummy)

*After taking some damage and burning the opponent, rest can be used to re-mummy Guts users in case they switch

Team Options
========

*Heal Bell users such as Blissey and Sylveon are great partness because they can cure Cofagrigus after rest

*Cofagrigus don’t like to swith into Darmanitan and Entei, so Water types Pokémon like Volcanion and Suicune are nice team options

*Entry hazard support works really well with Cofagrigus because it can spin block

Other Options

=========

*Pain Split can be used over rest if your team doesn’t have access to heal bell

*An offensive trick room set is also a viable option for offensive oriented teams

Checks and Counters
=========

**Strong Special Sweepers**: Although Cofagrigus has a respectable special defense, it still takes heavy damage with no investment. Also, Will-O-Wisp/Mummy do not affect very much Special Sweepers and Shadow Ball usually does not hit hard enough.

**Strong Physical Fire types**: Darmanitan, Entei and Infernape can 2-3HKO Cofagrigus because they can’t be burnt after the first hit.
