  1. Metagame np: SM UU Stage 10.5 - Water Me (weather test)

I’ve been out of UU for a while, but I still lurk- I think Blissey is the best test just because pif has shown the variety stall can bring, meaning Alo isn’t necessary, and I think Regenerator would not be a good choice for the tier as a whole.
  2. Metagame np: SM UU Stage 10.5 - Water Me (weather test)

I think the suspect makes sense- rain is slightly worse with sun existing (only slightly though) so if it’s balanced, it will be because of extra counter play. I agree though that testing damp rock would be a good way to go about things. Rain is by far the best weather in the game, and beats...

Do you have a set or a team you use this on? I’d like to test it.
  4. np: SM UU Stage 10.2 - Bug A Boo (Scizor remains UU)

I like the idea of two powerful play styles balancing each other out, but a problem still occurs with Drought Doom against a non-weather team. We’d still have to QB Mega-Doom in this scenario.

Who do you usually pair him with? Do you have a sample team I could use to try him?

It actually does get 1 recovery option - gluttony figy berry with recycle. It’s not the greatest, but it does exist. I use it on a curse set that often gets surprise sweeps, but I suppose you could probably throw it on a pursuit set if you really wanted that recovery.

No way in the world are Bronzong or registeel dropping because of Lix. Lix is more bulky offence while the other two are strictly defensive (and still very good in their roles) Heliolisk would be a pain, but I’m not sure it’d be broken. It’d be more likely to run hp grass over toxic because of...
  9. USUM NU Speculation Thread

Hard to say about rapid spinners dropping- they help keep your own hazards up, but they’ll definitely drop some in usage. Part of it will depend on matchup vs the new popular hazard removal, but I can’t see both of them staying RU.
  10. USUM UU Speculation Thread

We’re definitely going to see a major shakeup in the tiers, I agree that we’ll sadly lose gliscor, but it’ll be interesting if lower tier mons gain new relevance. The tutors especially will make hazard control much easier to fit into teams. Edit: Also, I feel like Kommo-o looks powerful as...

I’d support Gliscor to S. It can fill a few different roles, and it does all of them extremely well- it’s just so consistent at what it does, especially because of its huge amount of passive recovery, and immunity to status once toxic orb is activated. I was playing a variant of Pim’s Mega...

In my opinion, C- is composed almost exclusively of random things that good players have used recently. So since you got reqs I’ll second the nomination, even though it loses to well played stall.

You basically need 0/0 gliscor if adamant high jump kick 2hkos.
  14. np: SM UU Stage 4 - Scary Monsters (Jirachi banned, see post #76)

I think that serene grace isn't what makes Jirachi broken, it's what pushes it over the top. Rachi can run a number of different sets, and be extremely good at all of them, from Sdef wish support with rocks, to scarf, to z-happy hour (with varied coverage), to subtoxic stall, to even doom desire...
  15. np: SM UU Stage 4 - Scary Monsters (Jirachi banned, see post #76)

Agreed, as much as I love Jirachi, the one thing that pushes it from S-tier mon for being able to run a bunch of sets well is iron head. Flinches are extremely powerful, and combined with its versatility, makes it something that probably shouldn't stay in the tier.

I was going to make a post about how I support Rotom Mow moving up to B+, but no higher, but I don't see the point now - I'm just going to have fun playing with Jirachi and Gardevoir before they're banned.
  17. np: SM UU Stage 4 - Scary Monsters (Jirachi banned, see post #76)

Man, lots of broken stuff to look at. Gallade, I think, will be very difficult to deal with, but I'm trying to decide if Cross will play a similar role to blastoise, being a powerful tank. It's hard to say just yet, but I do think it'll be a major threat. I'm not sure Lati will displace its...
  18. SM UU Viability Ranking Thread Mark Three

I agree with this especially, because although everyone knows how good it's prankster support moves are, I feel like it's coverage options are what make it stand out further than it already does. HP fire, dazzling gleam, foul play, magnet rise of grounds are a problem... Klefki often can be...
  19. SM UU Viability Ranking Thread Mark Three

I definitely agree with both hawlucha and sylveon rising. Lucha is a huge threat to offensive teams even without veil support, and is a great wincon with it, even against bulkier teams, since it can better afford to set up. I haven't seen enough rotom now to actually have an opinion, although...
  20. np: SM UU Stage 3 - Now Or Never

I feel like pif laid out a lot of good reasons, but I'd like to touch on just two of your arguments: z-hypnosis being 60% making it balanced, and 50-50s making it balanced. Being 60% accurate (meaning in your favour) for a sleep move that also boosts is extremely powerful. Don't forget OHKO...
