I feel like prequels are super hard to do. Because you have to revert characters' development. For characters that are jerks that turn into nice people, or were even straight up villains that get redeemed, it means you have to go back on all that emotional journey.
Good example is Wonder Woman tbh. Like at the beginning of Batman v Superman she has currently abandoned humanity but the end of Wonder Woman she has not done that.
