I don't really see what that's going to do to solve its problems.

It relieves its weaknesses to fighting and steel while giving it a better stab in earth power. Plus ancientpower sucks as a STAB

Yeah but typing isn't Aurorus's biggest problem. Speed and Power are his main problems. Aurorus simply doesn't have the stats to be viable with just a simple type change.
