VGC Turning up the heat with Mega Charizard Y!

At a glance, your team seems weak to substitute Heatran. Thundurus hits some defensive benchmarks but is very underwhelming offensively with this spread. In my opinion, given the fast-paced nature of your team you could use some more offense. If you feel like soft-resetting for a new Thundurus...

    VGC Welcome to Lordran

I hesitate to say this given your opinion on the genies, but if you change your mind, AV landorus-t does many of the things Granbull does but with better bulk, better offenses, a better speed tier and arguably better typing. It's S-rank for a reason :/

    VGC Welcome to Lordran

So the thing is that Persian is easily 2hko'd by Rock Slide. Other Landorus checks are quite a bit bulkier (like Milotic). keeping a mon that outspeeds Landorus-T or otherwise checks it is very important - I consider Milotic a sort of soft-check as it discourages Lando-T given its amazing power...

    VGC Welcome to Lordran

Will-O-Wisp on Sableye would allow you to beat Kangaskhan 1v1 and greatly expand Sableye's utility. Right now it seems fairly useless against Landorus, Terrakion and a good number of bulkier mons. Will-O-Wisp is a great move to cripple physical attackers and get chip damage on bulkier mons. I...

VGC On Top of the World (7th place top cut SoCal Premier Challenge)

Recently I had the first VGC Premier Challenge of my life. Knowing that I would be playing players of a variety of skill levels, I wanted to build a versatile team with some strategies that could take advantage of lower skill levels of newer players. Because I was very afraid of opposing gimmick...

Silly Things You've Seen On The Ladder (UU Version)

Butterfree isn't categorically bad, but is mostly outclassed by Vivillon. The marginal difference in bulk however means that Butterfree can survive priority that Vivillon wouldn't. Of course, I mean the quiver dance, sleep power, hurricane bug buzz set, not the weird infestation set... :P

np: UU Stage 2.1 - You Are Invited

I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread that what makes Serperior overwhelming is the fact that Leaf Storm is both a boosting move and a very powerful STAB attack. This gives you the room for glare and coverage moves. +2 for almost any move is really strong, even if it's a weak move like...

Another, somewhat nonviable terrakion switchin could be chesnaught. Unfortunately with Hera's stab megahorn back in play, I don't think Chesnaught will be able to do much of use against other pokemon anymore (even less than it already did). Edgequake is really good and stab close combat to back...
